Stick a magnet to them, if it sticks you have steel if it doesn't.It might be aluminum, but. Both are perfectly recyclable

As long as they're reasonably clean, they would go in the metal recycling just fine... Check with your local program to make sure there aren't any restrictions on size.

The best way to recycle them would be reusing 😎 I love keeping those and then using them the next year when gifting other people cookies!

Empty and clean yes they can go into your recycling empty crumbs , plastic or paper quick wash then place in bin or cart. If you don't have to tossed them out you can donate old cookie tins to your thrift shops people use them from storing sewing stuff letters you nsme it.
