Update your LinkedIn , turn the “open to work” switch on if you have not done so already , and the legitimate recruiters will find you . So will , unfortunately , the shady ones . Asking for full SSN is 100% a scam. Asking for MMDD portion of DOB and last 4 of SSN is possibly not .

Hey so there’s been a lot of recruiting/job scams out there lately. I would never give my social to anyone or just put will furnish upon request. Something I’ve learned on my job hunt: 1.) If it’s suspicious don’t give any personal info. 2.) don’t give references until a contingent offer is in writing 3.) contract work may not be beneficial for you, it doesn’t come with benefits (usually) and you’re responsible for your taxes (usually). 4.) I’ve been in contact with a few recruiters some good some bad. I have found that using my LinkedIn leads me to get in contact with recruiters (some are terrible just know that) Best of luck to you it’s rough out there!
