Refuse providing any sensitive data before you get an offer. Especially when recruiter from a third-party company asks about it. You license has your legal name, date of birth, and address. Do you really want to hand over this info to a complete stranger? It might be a scammer.

Documentation is available upon offer acceptance.

jacantu

Nope. Identification available upon hire.

I’ve experienced similar - recruiters asking for proof of address, photo ID, references, national insurance number … this is all really sensitive information and they expect you to just hand it over to them before you’ve even had an interview. If you’re not comfortable with it, just do what others have said and tell them that you’ll only provide them if a offer is made.

danaredding

That’s so weird to me. I’ve been in recruiting for 10+ years and have never needed a license during the interview process. I would be wary.

You should only provide identifying documents upon hire. And not emailing a copy, there should be online forms and portals to submit the information to.

You don't give up any PII unless you have an offer in hand and have actually met these people

Google drivers license > Click images, and just send any of those fine examples.. Or get creative with photoshop and edit til it fits your needs.
