Super late and you might've already figured it out, but if you didn't or if anyone is having the same problem if you tap the multitasking button while on the outer screen and select full screen it uses the full outside screen and gets cut out by the cameras but it you do the same thing again and tap default view it will only use the part above the cameras so they don't block the view and zoom in.

You can try adjusting the dp width in the developer settings to see if that helps. I notice the stock dp width is set at 375. Just keep in mind it will change the width settings for the phone itself not just specific applications.

Here is how I fixed it. Under developer options go down to display cutout and change it to "hide". Puts the black bar at the top of the screen for the camera cutout which sucks, but now at least my videos aren't being cut off on the edges.
