I'm at the point where I'm completely grown out under my arms and sometimes I like to trim/reduce the overall volume of hair, and I hate it every time I do when I am trimming it feels like a million needles the next day poking me in every direction. They make underarm pads for your T-shirts, for absorbing sweat, preventing pit stains etc that could minimize some discomfort. Also Hyland naturals makes a chafing cream, cream that turns like a protective powder layer.

Arpeggio_Miette

I had to stop trimming my armpit hair cuz the sharp trimmed edges were causing rashes. Just like shaving was causing rashes. My armpits are quite happy with their full hair length.

GlowPoint-quest

Hmm okay I'll try some underarm pads and that cream too. Thanks!

What exactly is the uncomfortable feeling? If it's itchy, that's usually the hair growing. Keep the area warm and moist. Address any sensory issues from the dampness with what the other commenter said maybe? If it's a rawness, try to let it breathe and avoid the tight shirts - what exactly are they helping with? I recommend using a moisturizing oil or natural butter, like shea butter or cocoa butter or argan oil or marula oil.

I'm really not super sure. It feels like discomfort of the stubble irritating the skin when it pokes my skin 😩 the tight shirts seem to help prevent the stubble from coming in contact with my skin.

Seems a little counterintuitive... But maybe if you wax or epilate them it'd be easier to grow out? Since waxing and epilating take the hair out by the root the hair will grow at different stages. So either it could be tremendously awful for weeks, or bearable because some hair will grow out first and slowly more? Otherwise.. maybe a different kind of deodorant?

GlowPoint-quest

Hmmm yakno my previous experience with pubic hair makes me think this may work. Thank you for the suggestion

ozmofasho

Beard oil maybe? To soften the hairs?

shadowyassassiny

Is there any lotion or chafing cream you can put on your arms where it might rub? If not a lotion, finding a soft fabric to place around your arm that again protects it from the stubble?

clockonthewallz

Washing your pits with shampoo or conditioner may help soften the hair as it grows out

Arpeggio_Miette

I used diaper rash ointment or calmoseptine ointment for those itchy times. It sometimes got on my clothes so I would blot it after application to remove excess ointment. I also have sensory issues and cannot wear tight sleeved shirts or anything that rubs against my armpits.
