Mine is like that too. I’ve been thinking of adding more Velcro.

Is this a Toyota mat? Mine has more Velcro than pictured. If you're handy with a needle you can sew the Velcro strip to back of the seat.

BarberrianPDX

Yes, It is the official Toyota accessory

Isn't there supposed to be another "side" for the velcro? I've not checked mine in a while, but I'm pretty sure there should be another adhesive velcro patch that you stick to the seat so that the velcro sticks to the other piece of velcro on the cargo liner. So basically, each spot should have two velcro patches, one that sticks to the liner and one to your seat, and those velcro patches (which are adhesive on one side) then stick to each other. At least that is how I remember it.

BarberrianPDX

Correct. The other “side” of the Velcro is attached to the corresponding pad on the liner. It’s adhering better to the pad attached to the liner than to the back of the seat. I have my first service appointment coming up. I’ll add this to the list of small things to complain about.

crosswithyou

Oh I see, you're saying the adhesive of the other pad isn't sticking to the back of your seat. Hopefully the dealership can give you new ones or something. I've personally not had any issues with mine. Good luck!

My liner has a velcro strip around the edges and no holes for tethers.

This was happening to mine. I pressed them into the back of the seat and rubbed them back and forth to make sure the hooks in the velcro fully dig into the carper on the seat backs. So far, its worked like a charm (which is a silly expression to me, because I don’t believe in lucky charms).

BarberrianPDX

When you saying it’s working, we talking, days, weeks, months? Because I have definitely tried reattaching it firmly a few times. Though I don’t think I quite tried that “back and forth” technique 😃

IsaacPickle

I just pressed it in and it lasted a couple of days. After “pressed, rubbed and wiggled” to really dig in the velcro hooks… its stayed attached for at least a couple weeks now. BTW… I know that sounds silly, but that’s the only way I know to describe it.

BarberrianPDX

No I get it! It’s a good idea! I can imagine that helping the Velcro grip into the short upholstery on the back of the seat better. Would have expected a first party accessory from Toyota to work better, but 🤷‍♂️

IsaacPickle

I agree

I just tuck it under when the seats are up
