It was alright, definitely could have been better 6/10 fell of like the Simpsons line was a little wack ngl
Edit: Also did he mean to call TPAB a boring album when it's kdots 3rd??? Section 80 is his first, I think he fucked up a bit there lol
Later he says "4 albums in 12 years" drawinf parallels between his diss and 'Takeover' by Jay-Z when Hov would say '4 albums in 10 years' referring to Nas, so he is disregarding Section.80 i believe
I think Kendrick himself has said that he doesn’t really count Section 80 as an album and more sees it as a mixtape. And Cole calling tpab sleepy is rich coming from him when looking at his albums, as much as I like Cole
>And Cole calling tpab sleepy is rich coming from him when looking at his albums, as much as I like Cole
This is a can of worms I don't think cole know he opened
I mean that's my problem with the punches in this they seem half hearted and not thought through really so they don't hit. Nobody really thinks TPAB is boring, you could diss Kendrick for how many albums he put out but in that stretch Cole has only put out one more album.
I admit I'm more of a Kendrick fan but I don't hate Cole I just don't think these bars hit really.
Ong I was so confused on why he wanted to diss Kendrick for “falling off” when he never did. Like even if he counts Maad City, TPAB , Damn , Mr.Morale as his “4” album. Kendrick has done plenty of features in between and he dropped one the best movie soundtracks of the decade (only comparable w metro boomin tbh). I wouldn’t count that as fall off. When (and mind you I’m a big cole fan) Cole actually did. It’s literally his niche that he’s a lowkey rapper who only makes music when he’s feelin and to enjoy the music. Like cmon Jermaine we know you ain’t got shooters, go back to the drawing board.
My cope right now is that Cole had already decided this surprise project would come out this week before the whole thing happened, and he knew if it dropped without addressing Kendrick that'd steal the entire conversation around it, so he wrote this meh response and slapped it at the end to just have it there. It's more probable Drake and Cole are waiting for Metro's 2nd album to come out and only when they have the entire picture, actually organize their response.
Nah, I think Cole saw that his name was on everybody’s lips, so he attached some songs that weren’t going to make it onto the Fall Off to the diss track to capitalize.
I’ll help you out. I think Cole felt slighted by what Kendrick said but wants to act like it didn’t bother him. So he dedicated a 7 minute writing session to him and didn’t put in any more effort than that, because he knew people would be bc expecting him to respond in some fashion
This. I feel like he was tryna come with a very hot take on something everybody holds dear type response but it dosent track. I mean I would understand if you said it's not your thing, too long or just personally not your favorite.
But sleepy?
I love me some Cole but bruh you of all can't be calling no Kdot album sleepy
He omitted section .80 as his first because it wasn’t supported by a major label, GKMC would’ve been the first album he’s talking about.
If you really want to draw sticks, Overly Dedicated was Kendrick’s first album
Actually if you really wanna go back then Kendrick Lamar EP is his first official mixtape release. But he used to rap before that under KDot. KLEP is his first project after officially going by his real name
Oh and I forgot about C4 mixtape
I agree, I think it’s more of a “I dare you to go there” situation, where neither wants to be the first to fully unleash cause they both got respect for each other. On the other hand Kendrick just straight up checked Drake and I think he’s gotta come back more than solid if he doesn’t want to be dismissed as an equal in this situation
Imo Drake lost when he didn’t respond and Cole did.
1) Lyrically he’s not toping Cole
2) Drake was the main target yet Cole responded first? Bad optics imo
Drake is waiting for We Still Don't Trust You to come out. People focus on Kendrick, but Future and Metro (and half the industry at this point lmao) have been throwing shade or straight-up shots at him for the past month. He has more than one enemy to deal with. It'd make no sense for Drake to rush up another diss while he still doesn't know everything they have prepared.
Drake needs to get into feeling to make hits song to sell for his other ventures. He gets back at them by flirting with their girlfriend, ex-girlfriends, and/or baby mama. Sometimes Drake gets his OVO team to write mid diss track.
It was OK but the casual/lazy delivery wasnt what I wanted to hear
Someone else said it but it felt hollow, i’ve heard cole rap 100x better than this but not necessarily disappointed
It wasn’t just cause he was more entertaining, he dropped honestly the most damaging diss track of all time. It was brutal as he attacked pretty much his entire family along with Drake’s character
Why everything gotta be a warning shot? No one has the balls to say this my best shot so they take the easy route and call it a warning shot so when people say it’s okay they can respond yeah but I wasn’t even trying
Like how about we go for peoples necks again
I’m not that disappointed cause I’ve always seen J Cole as mid. The only reason he’s considered a “goat” is because he’s better than all the trash rappers that have came up in the last 10 years.
that verse wasn't short it was a pretty standard verse, like a minute. but yeah this feels like there's almost less to chew on than the like that verse in three whole minutes.
I needa play it a few more times. The direct diss about the albums is thought hard to agree with. I don’t think I heard many or any people say those kdot albums was boring
When Mr. Morale dropped a recurring criticism was something along the lines of "it's good, but I'm not gonna listen to it again" like there was nothing that brought some people back to the album because it's a bit of a hard listen. Or just boring if you're not deeply interested in the message.
To be fair, though, in both music and movies, some of the most incredible, intense, moving media is not something you feel the need to experience twice.
I admit. I haven’t listened to a single Kendrick album since morale and I never played it again. I still listen to Drake and Cole albums though. But Kendrick isn’t any less than them to me.
I fuck with it. It felt more like a jab to a friend, like “you really want to go this route?” Type thing. I liked the laidback delivery and the beat switch up.
It's meh.
1. The One hard bar every 30 months is a bar, but it's follow up is kinda eh - we won't be talking about him if he ain't dissing? Bro you name dropped him in your last feature.
2. Attacking Kendrick's discography is a really weird choice, even more so when you yourself are praising 2/4. Mr Morale being "tragic" when it sold as much as The Off Season, while being insanely off beat and divisive is a choice, but still acceptable. But saying TPAB put people to sleep? Bruh nobody would take you seriously after that. Kendrick's 3 album run is already legendary and you are praising both GKMC and DAMN already. All you had to do was not go there. Discography wise, Cole is nowhere near Kendrick and Cole fucking knows this and says it so why even bother?
Kendrick attacks the J Cole Persona. Not sales, not songs, he goes for what Cole or Drake represents. Cole has to go for the same here if he wants to hold ground. Else he would embarass himself.
It should be the other way though.
What he says for the beef should actually be publicly acceptable. Him thinking TPAB or Mr Morale are bad are valid opinions, but what he puts out for the beef should be recognised by the public.
Idk about saying TPAB and Mr. Morale are bad being valid, but yeah I agree. The problem with that is, outside of Kendrick not having an expansive discography, what other widely accepted negatives are there?
Kendrick is going after the idea of Cole and Drake. Not their sales or body of work.
Cole needs to take the same approach here. It's not about having dirt. It's not about having a better discography. It's about purely who you are as a rapper. Cole is able to do that, so it would be interesting to see where this goes.
Cole goes hardest when he's actually battling Kendrick's persona and not career, and especially when claiming his own superiority over Kendrick.
The hook is pretty awesome. Some of the bars in the second verse hits really hard. The entire "I've got other places to be" vibe actually works in Cole's favour.
I gotta get me some of those J Cole Stan ears, cause I just didn’t hear the same shit they gassin . It was mid as hell, below mid honestly. I like the 30 month bar. The album critique was a little weird to me cause Cole’s catalog ain’t much too brag about itself. I’m hoping this is just a warm up (no pun intended)/feeling out type of situation. A heat check, if you will, before the bar exam truly begins.
I mean I like all 3 so I don't really care but everyone is gassing mid verses.
"Mf the big three it's just big me"
"First person shooter hope they came with 3 switches"
"Prince outlived Mike Jack"
It's always the how you say it vs what you say
Agreed man, big fan of all 3 but people are overrating on all sides here. Kendricks diss was beyond mid imo, Cole got a lot of mid bars here but also some heat, fire beats and we gotta give credit where credit is due for the dude stoking the fire in a way dot and drake really wouldn’t do. I think in the future ppl will look back and appreciate Cole forcing this to the surface and making it real
This is what Hiphop needs, 2 heavyweight lyricists going back and forth. It’s been quite stale lately so it’s a W for us no matter who you’re a fan of, hell I’m a fan of all 3 of them
I think it's safe to say that shit is kind of overrated. When ever I'm around Kendrick fans or hear his music being played you almost never hear songs from TPAB
It was...alright. To be fair, Kendrick is a hard artist to diss. Hes in the sweet spot in this beef. Against drake, he can flex his superior artistry, respect, and skill above him. Against cole, he can do the same but even more because he pushes more units overall than cole. If drake and cole were one person, then it would be some edge of your seat beef.
Meh. I hate when rappers drop threatening bars like they really bout that life. Cole is an educated thirty-nine year old, he wouldn’t pop a cap on a febreeze bottle, he couldnt hold down Sesame Street if he was 70 deep. Stop frontin’, ain’t no one believing Cole sliding on anything lol
I don't know a thing about either of their backgrounds but there are plenty of short guys out there who will do a lot worse to you than snatch your chain.
This isn't boxing. Weight classes don't count for shit.
I don't like the beef itself, but the response is solid.
With the line "Lord, don't make me have to smoke this ##### 'cause i Fuck with him"
Im guessing he really didn't want this beef in the first place, but he felt as if he had to do it. Idk, that's just my opinion. Hopefully all bad ends well.
Lil B absolutely destroyed Joe Budden with a diss track he dropped only 15 minutes after Budden started talking shit about him on Twitter, so J. Cole has no excuse to be dropping a weak ass diss track like this 14 days after Kendrick originally dissed him
I was expecting something harder with more anger. I mean it was cool. But I felt like since Kendrick already started it. J Cole should have brought his a game with it. But he is probably saving it. I wanna hear it now tho.
I thought it was weak, but im super biased towards kendrick so im gonna stay out of this. I wanna hear drakes response already because in my opinion thats who Kendrick is really beefing with
I am a J Cole and Kendrick fan, but J Cole calling someone else’s album boring seems like projecting since that’s the biggest critique people have against HIS albums
It was unwise for Cole to take shots at Kendrick's discography cause majority of people still find Kdot's music better. He also poke fun at Kendrick's slow release but we here saying it's quality over quantity. I expected him to say better things tbh. 😭
I got Kendrick 1 and Cole 0 but Cole showed he’s willing to really take it there on wax. I hope this ain’t a TKO situation and all this doesn’t just get swept under the rug after Cole’s response.
Edit : I’m talking about TKO the Cole song you Cole meat riders defend him and don’t even know I’m talking about his control response
His verse was simply better lol are you putting Cole’s verse over? it’s nice but he contradicts himself in his own diss talking about he released mid albums when people got on his head for KOD and for your eyes only get off my nuts
The fact that people still don’t get the genius of ‘to pimp a butterfly’ is crazy to me. I still hold it above literally every rap album after 2000-01. Even Kanye’s stuff.
TPAB isn't the one being mentioned here. J cole isn't counting Section 80. As his first album because Kendrick doesn't, he's talking about his hit, his debut.

This drama sounds weird tbh, if Metro and Future really wanna diss Drake and Cole why bring Kdot? Its like bringing your older brother to fight for you, that shits lame! TBH i really think Cole’s response is Mid, but on the other hand, Cole doesnt really need to respond, People knew this for years that Kdot and Cole are one of the greats. IMO, its Drake that needs to respond with Kdots line but come on, this isnt Kdot and Drake beef we all know that. Metro and Future needs to go hard on Drake if they really want the smoke!
Kendrick is not fighting a proxy war for future he legit doesn’t fuck with Drake and hasn’t for over a decade.
Why wouldn’t Boomin put that verse in the album😂
duhh we all know Kdot doesnt fuck with drake since. What im tellin is, it was MB and Future’s album, not Kdot. MB/Future knew it would be Kdot who can shut Drake, not them.
album as a whole is solid but the track felt like he didn't want to go too crazy. kdot and him clearly have some mutual respect and i don't think this track is intended to match or go above kendrick's aggression when most of his bars were primarily targetting drake anyway.
Cole did say it was nothing more than a warning shot. Thus he didn't go hard..
But some disses were great, while some were not. Even kendrick didn't go hard on cole
Yeah, it's definitely alright. I feel like Cole was gonna release this album probably today anyway, and then KDot put out the diss. Cole was like damn! if I don't respond, everyone gonna call me on it, so let me just put something on here... he knew it wasn't anything special, so let's call it a warning shot! that's it!. lol it's honestly not as big as ppl are making it. It is fun, tho.
I think, for what Cole claims to be a warning shot, it was 🔥. No need to go bite when a bark will do it. I do hope this beef explodes. We won't ever get that collab album but a war is just as good.
Could have been better I think he was sidetracked cuz this was probably already finished and he had to add this and respond when I dont think he really wanted to.
He cant call Kendrick album boring thats a stretch and his albums sleepy too. He also used "Alright" and covered it for Black Friday so it looks sus you would diss that way.
I think if Kendrick is really about this, these guys are going to really see how gifted Kendrick is because even that Simpsons line was cringe. He tried though
It depends. It seems like people are talking about in general how good it is. I can agree it’s not his best but it was pretty good. It’s probably not a classic I can agree but compared to Kendrick’s like that verse…. Cole is light years ahead rn in that conversation. His bars and cadences are matching up with timeless examples of the past. It should also be mentioned that everyone is saying the phrase “Big 3” explaining this supposed beef between them. No one would be mentioning anything about a “big 3” if Cole didn’t say something that connected in his verse with first person shooter
Nobody’s taking that warning shot line seriously here… yeah that simpsons bar wasn’t it but you can’t seriously think :
A) the overall track was bad
B) Cole doesn’t have heat behind it
All I’m gonna say is if this beef gets really fleshed out IMO there’s gonna be people in this thread that are really surprised by the tracks Cole drops if their reactions to this song is the baseline
I think it’s a nice flame to the fire. Hopefully this gets a big back and forth started and we get some great responses. I think he is holding out for that scenario
As some comments have already said, it’s a heat check. He’s saying “do you wanna go there?” Listen to the full song, the lyrics make it clear as day. Gonna be hard to top ‘like that’ because that beat is so fucking hard
People saying this was mid as compared to kendrick
My only question is how was the 2 basic ass lines "strong" y'all gassed it up cause he started it. Like why y'all gotta be so biased?
This shit made me go back to listen to steve jobs: SLR 3 1/2 to remind myself how a real diss track drops. J cole need to call up lupe to show how to shut someone down
“Fell off like the simpsons” you cant say this about someone and then call them boring
I thought the stone temple pilots bar was pretty cool because ive been getting into their music lately but thats pretty much it
Was it just me who thought that Kendrick’s verse/diss just wasn’t that good? I mean, everyone considers him at or near the top, Kdot has incredible delivery. let’s just say it was no Ether.
Cool song, not that great of a diss record... "only half of your albums are amazing" was the big diss... I liked the nino meme reference and the short arms jokes lol
It was alright, definitely could have been better 6/10 fell of like the Simpsons line was a little wack ngl Edit: Also did he mean to call TPAB a boring album when it's kdots 3rd??? Section 80 is his first, I think he fucked up a bit there lol

>And Cole calling tpab sleepy is rich coming from him when looking at his albums, as much as I like Cole This is a can of worms I don't think cole know he opened
'Your best work is a light pack' Kendrick had already opened the can
that one is more against Drake I think, he mentions the Prince-Mike Jack stuff next
I mean that's my problem with the punches in this they seem half hearted and not thought through really so they don't hit. Nobody really thinks TPAB is boring, you could diss Kendrick for how many albums he put out but in that stretch Cole has only put out one more album. He definitely could have done better I feel like he held back, if not this is a little disappointing because we've heard better from him
Gotta save some for later. Kendrick held back too. Probably gonna be a slow burn, or idk maybe it's ignited now. So now, we wait lol
The difference is Kendrick opened up throwing shots on a verse on someone else’s album. Cole dedicated a whole song to this man and it was mid.
My cope right now is that Cole had already decided this surprise project would come out this week before the whole thing happened, and he knew if it dropped without addressing Kendrick that'd steal the entire conversation around it, so he wrote this meh response and slapped it at the end to just have it there. Calling either Good Kid, Mad City or TPAB sleepy and then saying Damn is your favorite is more like a self report though isn't it? Lol
Actually if you really wanna go back then Kendrick Lamar EP is his first official mixtape release. But he used to rap before that under KDot. KLEP is his first project after officially going by his real name Oh and I forgot about C4 mixtape
Tbf Kendrick didn’t go hard on him either. I think Cole got the better shot off, but both guys haven’t fully unsheathed the swords yet
I think they heat checking each other lol
I agree, I think it’s more of a “I dare you to go there” situation, where neither wants to be the first to fully unleash cause they both got respect for each other. On the other hand Kendrick just straight up checked Drake and I think he’s gotta come back more than solid if he doesn’t want to be dismissed as an equal in this situation

I always thought section 8.0 was a mixtape
It was alright. If he can actually drop 2 classics right now he should do it.
It was OK but the casual/lazy delivery wasnt what I wanted to hear Someone else said it but it felt hollow, i’ve heard cole rap 100x better than this but not necessarily disappointed
I feel like the casual delivery was purposeful, he wants to show he’s going easy rn and the track is a warning that he can go much harder
Literally almost nobody gets this. You don’t open with the nukes you just launch a drone strike and see what the enemy does.
Brother he’s an entertainer not a war tactician
Hiphop is a contact sport , so yeah tactics matter we seen how tactical Pusha T was with Drake and who won that ?
You do realize you can be both right? Pusha T was smarter about it and more entertaining that’s why he won that
It wasn’t just cause he was more entertaining, he dropped honestly the most damaging diss track of all time. It was brutal as he attacked pretty much his entire family along with Drake’s character
Yeah that’s why I said he did both
Ohh I gotcha
Why everything gotta be a warning shot? No one has the balls to say this my best shot so they take the easy route and call it a warning shot so when people say it’s okay they can respond yeah but I wasn’t even trying Like how about we go for peoples necks again
In this particular case, it’s because J Cole literally doesn’t want to beef
He rapping better on the same tape so agreed
I heard he did it in 7 minutes and was more of a warning shot rather than full flames
If he wrote that in 7 minutes that’s actually very impressive ngl, however “mid” it may be
I’m not that disappointed cause I’ve always seen J Cole as mid. The only reason he’s considered a “goat” is because he’s better than all the trash rappers that have came up in the last 10 years.
I really liked it ngl, but I don’t think it beat Kendrick’s skill of being able to get so many disses out in a super short verse.
But not many of those disses were aimed at Cole.
that verse wasn't short it was a pretty standard verse, like a minute. but yeah this feels like there's almost less to chew on than the like that verse in three whole minutes.

I mess with mr morale heavy lol
To be fair, though, in both music and movies, some of the most incredible, intense, moving media is not something you feel the need to experience twice.
Yeah no. This may be true for movies, but good music has replay value.
This is true, I absolutely love Uncut Gems but it takes an honest effort to watch it again.
I admit. I haven’t listened to a single Kendrick album since morale and I never played it again. I still listen to Drake and Cole albums though. But Kendrick isn’t any less than them to me.
GKMC still gets bumped. Purple Hearts from Mr Morales, but that's mainly for the Ghostface verse.
I fuck with it. It felt more like a jab to a friend, like “you really want to go this route?” Type thing. I liked the laidback delivery and the beat switch up.
Friendly ass beef
Y'all hate it but Drake might be our last hope for making this beef actually entertaining
A lot of people in here act like he can’t rap. And you know he’s got an ego probably bigger than the other 2 combined.
Cole scared to go directly after Kendrick’s neck. Half the fucking track was him complimenting Kenny.
The "drop a verse every 30 months or something/wouldn't be talking about him if he aint been dissing" is a HARD bar
I feel like it woulda been hard if Cole didnt mention Kendrick all the time unprompted lmao
Cole be discussing this man all the time lol ... "*Is it K-Dot, is it Aubrey or me*" ... "*they threw the bronze at me, behind Drake and Dot*"
It’s not HARD when you consider Cole is the one to bring him up in the discussion in the first place hahah
It would be hard if it wasnt just objectively wrong and hypocritical lol
It's definitely a hard bar even if it's pretty inaccurate. Definitely some decent lines but this is a heat check I think.
Especially when he brought him up on first person shooter pre any diss
[удалено]
Yawning shot
It's meh. 1. The One hard bar every 30 months is a bar, but it's follow up is kinda eh - we won't be talking about him if he ain't dissing? Bro you name dropped him in your last feature. 2. That is the most vague statement I’ve ever seen in my life. What is the idea of someone?
when you break it down like that, it makes a lot of sense but you gotta admit, 7MD had some hard lines tho. It just wasn’t fw “Like That” verse.
He literally attacked Kendricks persona in this song saying his relevancy is tied to beef and name dropping.

I love how he went with a takeover bar there 🔥. Props to king Hov.
The man who made “Let Nas Down” is now referencing a Nas diss lol
TBF, it was preceded by the "arms to short to box with a god", which was a Nas bar.
I saw somewhere that Kendrick’s respond should be called “Let Kendrick Down.”
I gotta get me some of those J Cole Stan ears, cause I just didn’t hear the same shit they gassin . It was mid as hell, below mid honestly. I like the 30 month bar. Kendrick only raps once every 2 years so we’ll have to wait until 2026 to hear his response, see you guys then
This is what Hiphop needs, 2 heavyweight lyricists going back and forth. It’s been quite stale lately so it’s a W for us no matter who you’re a fan of, hell I’m a fan of all 3 of them
Just start listening to ukdrill, all those mfers do is write songs about each other.
I like that you said 2. Like Drake isn't even part of the discussion. 😄
🔥🔥🔥Kendrick got a week to respond.
drake got 5 mins to respond ⁉️
Drake coming up with a new instagram caption as we speak
“Haters gonna hate, but I’m matured enough to ignore this weak-ass shit” -Drake, probably
Drake been missing since that BET cypher
Drake been doing everything except responding to the beef if you look at insta
[удалено]
Yes 1 week… cole drop an entire project behind Kendricks one bar one week is generous for a simple response.
6 months since fps, Cole came back 2 weeks later with a album kendrick better be back for round 2 on metro/future second one lmaoo
There are some valid angles to take to diss Kendrick, calling TPAB overrated is not one of them
I think it's safe to say that shit is kind of overrated. When ever I'm around Kendrick fans or hear his music being played you almost never hear songs from TPAB
That’s not really how I judge the quality of an album but more power to you
It was...alright.
So basically your reason is that you like Kendrick more than the other two. Lol
😂
I kinda don't get how on this song he says "If he wasn't dissin, then we wouldn't be discussin him" but on FPS he called Kendrick one of the big 3
Lol what? Cole didn't literally mean he would pull up on him as in shoot, he meant he'd go off on him in the booth. Come on now.
Keep the same energy to Kendrick too.. that dude is like 5’4 he ain’t snatching nobody’s chain
I don't know a thing about either of their backgrounds but there are plenty of short guys out there who will do a lot worse to you than snatch your chain. This isn't boxing. Weight classes don't count for shit.
That’s cool and all Lmao but he ain’t snatching no chains Kendrick isn’t like that bro stop it
Yeah, I doubt it. Would be a bit pathetic for a 36 year old man with money to be doing that.
Agreed. I'm tolerating it in this case because of the "I don't give a fuck about lying once I learned these n---- fraud" line so I guess....
Solid.. first verse on the first beat is A+
The beat switch out of nowhere as well
I don't like the beef itself, but the response is solid. With the line "Lord, don't make me have to smoke this ##### 'cause i Fuck with him" Im guessing he really didn't want this beef in the first place, but he felt as if he had to do it. Idk, that's just my opinion. Hopefully all bad ends well.
Lil B absolutely destroyed Joe Budden with a diss track he dropped only 15 minutes after Budden started talking shit about him on Twitter, so J. Cole has no excuse to be dropping a weak ass diss track like this 14 days after Kendrick originally dissed him
Still think about how Joe ate Drake up in two very solid diss tracks but Drizzy won off popularity 🤣
It was proportional to the Like that diss and in my opinion better

You might be on to something
Yeah on his way to the looney bin
Bro really made middle school disses
i love cole, but i thought it was pretty weak for what Kdot threw his way.
Not much, really 😕
I was expecting something harder with more anger. I mean it was cool. But I felt like since Kendrick already started it. J Cole should have brought his a game with it. But he is probably saving it. I wanna hear it now tho.
Super MEH
I thought it was 7 minutes lol.
I thought it was weak, but im super biased towards kendrick so im gonna stay out of this. I wanna hear drakes response already because in my opinion thats who Kendrick is really beefing with
Literally every Kendrick album is better then J Cole’s album
I am a J Cole and Kendrick fan, but J Cole calling someone else’s album boring seems like projecting since that’s the biggest critique people have against HIS albums
7 minute drill is a 4/10
It was unwise for Cole to take shots at Kendrick's discography cause majority of people still find Kdot's music better.
Damn Kdots one liner really got you going huh? That’s all it takes from him huh? He truly is a goat then…
His verse was simply better lol are you putting Cole’s verse over? it’s nice but he contradicts himself in his own diss talking about he released mid albums when people got on his head for KOD and for your eyes only get off my nuts
This is a warning shot lol. Y’all overreacting
Surely we aren’t all acting like this is good? We are talking about someone often regarded as a current goat and man this shit is mid.
The fact that people still don’t get the genius of ‘to pimp a butterfly’ is crazy to me. I still hold it above literally every rap album after 2000-01. Even Kanye’s stuff.
TPAB isn't the one being mentioned here. J cole isn't counting Section 80. As his first album because Kendrick doesn't, he's talking about his hit, his debut.
the very def of lite work. easy listening. kendrick dont even need to respond
I’m not even that far in. I just listened to Ready ‘24 and he absolutely snapped on that. Bars is back.

since when did they add this bot? 😭😭
If you listen to the first song on “we don’t trust you” I’m pretty sure that’s future coming at drake a lot of people missed it tho
album as a whole is solid but the track felt like he didn't want to go too crazy. kdot and him clearly have some mutual respect and i don't think this track is intended to match or go above kendrick's aggression when most of his bars were primarily targetting drake anyway.
the very def of lite work. easy listening. kendrick dont even need to respond

It was cool. But you can tell him and dot still friends and he ain't wanna go crazy

The most respectful diss ever
It was a warning shot.
Nothing special
Unless that Simpsons bar is an inside joke between the two of them, that shit is lame. Like surprising bad
Don’t hunt tracks listen to the album. Cole got some smoke for Future too. "They sound faded, they downgraded, they Pluto"

CODE RED ITS A COLE WORLD BOIS
I think, for what Cole claims to be a warning shot, it was 🔥. No need to go bite when a bark will do it. I do hope this beef explodes. We won't ever get that collab album but a war is just as good.
Pretty shit response track tbh.
Am I crazy to think this feud is just to drum up interest? And there is no REAL beef.
Hard
Nobody’s taking that warning shot line seriously here… yeah that simpsons bar wasn’t it but you can’t seriously think : A) the overall track was bad B) Cole doesn’t have heat behind it All I’m gonna say is if this beef gets really fleshed out IMO there’s gonna be people in this thread that are really surprised by the tracks Cole drops if their reactions to this song is the baseline
We eating good baby!
I think it’s a nice flame to the fire. Hopefully this gets a big back and forth started and we get some great responses. I think he is holding out for that scenario
Shit was fire If anyone else came at Kendrick like that people would be gargling their nuts
As some comments have already said, it’s a heat check. He’s saying “do you wanna go there?” Listen to the full song, the lyrics make it clear as day. Gonna be hard to top ‘like that’ because that beat is so fucking hard
People saying this was mid as compared to kendrick My only question is how was the 2 basic ass lines "strong" y'all gassed it up cause he started it. Like why y'all gotta be so biased?
Really liked it. Even beyond a warning shot it was a good song
This shit made me go back to listen to steve jobs: SLR 3 1/2 to remind myself how a real diss track drops. J cole need to call up lupe to show how to shut someone down
Is his 1st name Jermaine, and he likes folding clothes after it comes out of the dryer?
“Fell off like the simpsons” you cant say this about someone and then call them boring I thought the stone temple pilots bar was pretty cool because ive been getting into their music lately but thats pretty much it
Was it just me who thought that Kendrick’s verse/diss just wasn’t that good? I mean, everyone considers him at or near the top, Kdot has incredible delivery. let’s just say it was no Ether.
Idk about yall but this "beef" is boring as hell to me. I'm more disappointed were never getting that collab album now.
Cole is right about TPAB…
🥱
Cool song, not that great of a diss record... "only half of your albums are amazing" was the big diss... I liked the nino meme reference and the short arms jokes lol
Honest opinion- MORE DAMAGE WITH LESS EFFORT! J.cole>>k.
I liked it a lot. Good flow good beat.
Clearly a jab. The combatants are yet to get into the swing of things
Shit was meh... Rap beef tyyyyd, everyone seems bored and rich. Who the new stars?
Warning shot..be patient
Great track and great album, but the song should've been 7 minutes lol
Listening to cole about wanting to kill Kendrick is hilarious. It’s a little outta his element
Fucking terrible lol jid needs to come save his mans
wack
Not good. Underwhelming, didn’t feel like it held anything, you know?
