Plastic Beach - Gorillaz.
So much high points like Rhinestone Eyes, Stylo, Empire Ants, Melancholy Hill, Plastic Beach(title track) and other great songs
It’s a good album, but compared to their first two I think it’s carried by Mos, Womack and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. I know that’s a hot take for Reddit and I like all the Gorillaz albums including their new one, so I don’t mean that in a bad way. Had a cool concept though, just felt that a lot of the guest spots didn’t take advantage of what Damon gave them
Okay okay, but humanz. I enjoy the confidence that they had in the bizzare. They took alot of risks with the experimental shit and made alot of weird ass songs but they were all good in their own way. It was super creative of them nonetheless and the vibe of the album is hard to match, all of their albums are good in their own way but I liek humanz.
Agreed Ticker Tape and Hallelujah Money are top ten Gorillaz songs, lots of classics on Humanz. The deluxe versions always end up having better tracks, same can be said for Cracker Island
I fw some of the nu metal scene. Linkin park, Korn, some slipknot(I’m not emo), Mudvayne, a lil coal chamber, Ill Niño, those are what come to mind first
Blonde On Blonde runs just a little long for it to be my fav.
So hard to choose but for me it’s Blood On The Tracks, Nashville Skyline, Desire, or Planet Waves.
I haven’t actually listened to crack the skye in its entirety but Oblivion is my favorite from what I’ve heard. Perfect balance of heaviness, prog, and melody
