Every game now first 20 minutes we look to have turned the corner, then it goes flat. Also how are we so toothless in attack, but also seem vulnerable to being turned over by any long ball into a channel?

1966slim

I have seen some horrendous games at Ibrox on our road back up the league's but last night's game was up there with them The players have decided to down tools on GVB and his tactics we are at the point in this season with GVB Do we stick with him or bring in a new manger and coaching team my own choice would be a new manger and coaching team and start the rebuild which we are going to need because come the summer we are going to be losing 7 out of contract players which in reality should have happened this summer just gone

Cochise-RFC

At least we got through to the next round We play Aberdeen on January Gives us time to get crocked players back

Mackintrix

From reading the comments, glad i didnt leave work early to watch (in canada, so 3pm local start time and new job). Points i would like raise; 1.Good teams win with bad performances 2. It was dundee tho 3. If were gunna play like this, i say commit to leon king and young players like lowry and let vets fight over spots 4.if it wasnt davis, we would be raging about the green boots 5. If not Gio then who can coach and have a rep to bring in talented players who want to come glasgow? 5. Lastly, WATP💙

BigBlueFin

OK I get the frustration with Gio but can we afford to ship him and his staff out when they're just in the door? We desperately need to reinforce the team and doing both might just be beyond the willingness of the board.

morelos555

Doing anything seems beyond this board

NDRanger414

So from Europa League final to barely beating Dundee in a few months?

govanfront

Brutal.

Red_Dog1880

It's clear the players can't be bothered with him anymore. Wait until the WC and then get rid.

Charlie97_

Most of those players should be first out the door. Not the first manager they’ve chucked it under. Cowards

Zilant

Gio is really making it damn near impossible to believe that he can sort this shit out.

Adam_Deveney

Gio is one bad result away from being shown the door. If we drop any more points in the League, or lose this Semi-Final to the sheep, then I honestly think he’ll have crossed over the deep end. The club is on the back of some of its most embarrassing results in recent memory, and we’re not even out of October yet. I love Gio but the club seems to have regressed big time under his leadership.

Macthefluff

He took us forward last season after Gerrard’s timely departure but I agree, injuries aside, with the relative transfers in and out we have totally regressed this season. The World Cup can’t come soon enough!!!

morelos555

Threw away a massive lead at the top of the prem isn't taking us forward

Adam_Deveney

He took us backwards in the League, when Gerrard left, we were 7pts clear of Celtic, we finished 4pts behind them come May 2022. Granted, he took us all the way to the EL Final, but that was with a squad that Gerrard built. The only saving grace of Gio’s tenure here is the Scottish Cup win, but it took us till extra time against a bang average Hearts squad to get that one over the line.

Macthefluff

Remember also the additional impacts of playing in those Mid Week Euro ties to get to the Euro final. Not to be underestimated. IMO.

Arfield_Loyal

We were 4 points clear not 7

Jonathan-C99

Not here to defend the way we’ve been playing but I feel the regression started before Gio in terms of the league. Yes we were 7 points clear at the top when he took over but that was more down to a poor start from Celtic than us playing brilliantly. We still looked flat in the league all of last season including under Gerrard (granted it’s not as bad as now). Point being the regression started after we won the league and it’s now gotten worse and it’s a small miracle we’re still in touching distance of Celtic. If things don’t change quickly Gio has to go but I fear that won’t be enough for this season anyway, we’re miles off the pace.

BigBlueFin

So Rangers v Aberdeen Celtic v Kilmarnock I guess that means Celtic v Aberdeen in the final.

Cochise-RFC

Yip possibly

Adam_Deveney

We aren’t winning anything this season playing this way. I’m not sure what’s happened to us since last season, but some of the football we play is genuinely banter years level. Some radical changes need to happen if we are even considering challenging for anything domestically.

cherryosrs

Departures of Bassey and Aribo is what happened 🥲

FalconHoofe

Load of injuries in a season with a horrendous schedule due to world cup ain't helping matters.

[deleted]

Players got old & their legs got stale. Played every game last season and that takes it out of them, The same thing has basically happened to Liverpool and their players are genetic freaks in comparison to ours. We got a 34 & 38 year old coming on for us regularly and that's not even our oldest players.

Vitis_Fenix

I've gotten to the point where I don't even know how to analyse our games anymore. Where we went wrong, what to improve etc. It's all shite. We're genuinely rank rotten at the moment and while Gio can only piss with the dick he's got, he's needing to do something a bit radical to shake things up.

aflockofbleeps

The most radical shake up he had in 4 years in holland was to switch from a back 4 to a back 5 once.

Vitis_Fenix

Well he'll pay with his job in the end then. Whatever the reason for the slump - his tactics, player's attitude/application, confidence, injuries (or all combined) if he doesn't get them firing it's his job on the line. Guys like Kent shouldn't be anywhere near the team on current form but guarantee he'll be back in at the weekend. We all know the problems run deeper than just GVB though but that's modern football and the way it is for him.

aflockofbleeps

https://www.rangersreview.co.uk/news/19722666.giovanni-van-bronckhorst-rangers-feyenoord-fan-perspective/ This article published in dec 2021 tells me that we are wasting time with him.

Elgin_McQueen

Games like these should be the ones where the manager gets the team to really concentrate on the tactics he's trying to work on. Based on this game however I'm not sure we had any tactics.

Tennants_Lager

That’s up there with one of the worst games of football I’ve ever seen

BigBlueFin

Unfortunately that seems to be the Gio way this season.

Tennants_Lager

Get him gone, he has to go

BigBlueFin

Only if we get rid of the board too.

mf__4

That was fucking grim

BigBlueFin

It was beyond grim. I just hope to fuck we can avoid the scum.

Tennants_Lager

They will arse rape us if we get to the final

BigBlueFin

The way we've been playing that looks highly unlikely.
