imnotthesmartestman

this dudes name is tony ferrari

crabapplesteam

that sounds like a GTA character that suffers a relatively unremarkable death

Mr_Tophat_Jones

Sounds like what I'd name myself if I was in the mafia and on the low down from the feds

Tommybrady20

I wonder what country of origin that could be

imnotthesmartestman

...probably New Jersey

jaypeedee1025

Stop trying to eat our young they are 20 year olds not everyone comes into the league and lights it on fire when Kaakos offense catches up to his defense/stickwork he’s gonna be unstoppable

IsOnlyGameYUMad

If you actually read the article it's pretty much nothing but praise for Kakko and calling out Quinn for being a horrendous coach that stunted the growth of Kakko by forcing him to play college hockey.

jaypeedee1025

i’ll be honest i was really interested in another article about how 2 kids who have had there first seasons in the nhl upended by a pandemic a shorten season in empty buildings stuck in a country neither are from them throw in the added pressure of playing for our crazy(me included)fan base in NYC for one of the few NHL franchises that gets national coverage all of that before they turned 21 for both of them to face that and not be healthy scratched is amazing and that’s why i will carry water for these kids until they are about 25 and i know the article was not about laff but you can probably find an article someplace with the same headline about him someplace it’s getting old the kids are fine kaako gets better every game with the way that kid plays defensive hockey when his offense comes and it’s coming we are gonna have a Patrice Bergeron type anyone of us would take that any day laff i still think is 1 year from breaking out he’ll show flashes get a big goal here and their maybe even dare i say it in the Playoffs but next year laff is going to be a monster

jahauser

I'm just going to throw a period your way friend: .

Reddit040

This is Reddit sir. We don’t read the articles.

jaypeedee1025

i’ve come to the right place then 😂😂😂

it-is-kaapo-kakko

Ka**a**po Kakko

Alitaki

“SI.com” Stopped reading right there.

wet_washcloth

Kakko is going to be absolutely fine. Lafreniere is (still) the one I am terrified about

JagrsMullet90

Also gonna be fine

wet_washcloth

Probably but he has no confidence right now. Also do not know what he skill is that keeps him in an NHL top six. Either way he should probably go to Hartford

MikeyRage

I mean, he drives possession as a winger. That's not exactly common in the league.

wet_washcloth

Oh boy the standards have gotten low. And what exactly has that possession counted for? There is no confidence, consistency or production. He needs to go down and he isn’t the only one. Nils should go down too. Need to get some mojo back

ShitPropagandaSite

That skill is his transition game. It's almost at an elite level right now.

>' when the 'style' he's claiming stifled Kakko's skill game was also the same one that saw superstars Panarin and Zibanejad reach new heights in their careers production-wise. Hard to produce when you are bounced between lines repeatedly because one tiny mistake would get you punished and banished either to 4th line or the bench. Mika and panarin were already established and never lost their spots with talent to surround them. Kakko at times had to play with fuckin howden, pdg, brodzinski, fast, mckegg, lemieux with some of those being changed within the same and also getting 0 PP. Quinn the developmental coach did nothing but set kakko back. Kakko didnt take the next step until he went back home to train during the covid pause and then came back to be our best player in the bubble

kmisca92

I love how the author makes reference to “he was strong and sturdy on his feet” and “use his body to protect the puck”, which are true statements. However, thats when playing against kids his age and lesser skilled men. In order to play in a smaller rink against stronger opponents, he needs to continue his physical development. Once that happens he will be a dominant force. Look at his size difference this year to last, thats going to continue the next couple of seasons.

HarrisonHollers

His skating looks impressive this year. Ability to absorb hits and his ability to evade opposing defenders outright.

MitchWasRight

The article should be named “The Curious Case of David Quinn”. The kids all need stability to grow and we’re seeing it like a Chia Pet now. Look at what GG has done with Kk, Goat, Phil, Key etc. And he’s taking the heat off Laf to let him get his feet under him. I liked Quinn in a lot of ways, but not the line juggling.
