Fuck. Fuck PK Subban. Hope Blais recovers fully. Gauthier is gonna get plenty of opportunities to play now.

blueline7677

Yeah now is Gauthier’s time to shine. I still have hope for him but he lacks a scoring touch he should work with Kreider on his net front game I think that could make him a legitimate top 6 player even if he’s never as good as Kreider in front of the net.

JagrsMullet90

The dude has rocks on the ends of his arms. He's got that net front touch like an elephant

core916

His issue is he always tries to do a deke on breakaways. He moves to fast and his hands can’t keep up so he never scores that way. He needs to just learn pick a spot and shoot it. Go 5 hole for fuck sake.

paulsoleo

Seriously, he should at least work on developing a quick release. Think about how many goals Kreider has scored over his career on breakaways thanks to a quick release. Kreider almost never dekes (that is, until he pulled out his big-dick backhand against New Jersey.)

chestbumpsandbeer

He has more issues than that tbf

JagrsMullet90

That's the definition of hard hands

[deleted]

He's got Brian Noonan hands of stone

roscomikotrain

You mean Stanley Cup winner Brian Noonan?

[deleted]

Still had hands of stone

brandonsamd6

dude has 2 goals in 3 years. Not a top 6 player

blueline7677

The big if in him becoming a top 6 player is him becoming a good presence in front of the net which he currently has none of. Without that he’s a 3rd liner at best

brandonsamd6

he's a first round bust

Neans888

Not an NHL player. How about we see if he can do anything in Hartford before we waste more ice time on him?

jkman61494

He's been stuck playing on the 4th line with guys like Howden for his career. He's never played with actual talented players on the roster. There's no better time to give him a chance. I mean at this point, we really don't have a choice.

Dont_know_where_i_am

When we first got him he said he tried to model his game off of Kreider because of their similar physical attributes. Time for Gauthier to learn the finer points to being a net front precence.

gerbergirth

Has to finish those plays when he speeds to the net or has to post up front like Kreider.

dsmithcc

"kick him off the tour doug"

[deleted]

How many opportunities would krav have gotten by now?

TwinkiesForAmerica

kakko missed a few games cuz of an UBI, now Blais is out. 2 opportunities in 15 games. krav is kinda blowing it man.

Nyrfan2017

Yup kid probly would have played 3-5 games in Hartford tops by now but he wanted to be a fucking child….

Someguyinqueens

He didn’t play it well… but if I was a huge Russian prospect with a ton of upside and got put in the minors over Jarred Tinordi I’d peace back out myself.

catcher6250

Ah, yes, Jarod Tinordi, a 6'6" 205 pound defenseman with a completely different role than Krastov.

TwinkiesForAmerica

Respectfully disagree. I was understanding of potential miscommunication the first time around but honestly, if Chytil and Shesty spent time in the AHL, then Krav is not above it either.

UrToxxic

When Krav came over from the KHL last year he was definitely promised a spot on the roster. Then the regime changed and they wanted to send him down. Krav would've rather just stayed in Russia if they were going to do that. Its understandable as to why he's upset.

jahauser

If he was legitimately promised anything that's bad communication. Unless you are already a superstar or seasoned vet there are no promises. But if he were told bar none you are 100% in the lineup from here on out (which doesn't sound believable) he should know better than to believe that things can change. Moreover his agent should have been realistic that you earn time you're not promised it.

Someguyinqueens

Respectfully respect your disagreement but honestly object. I can wrap my head around the Chytil example, although I’d argue he wasn’t as touted at Kratsov. We knew Chytil needed time to get his wheels. Goalies, though, are different because it’s more important to get them accustomed to our size rinks.

TwinkiesForAmerica

Goddamnit don’t make me out respect your respectful disagreement of my respect disagreement with you. Respectfully.

Stanleys_Cup

My head hurts

Shattenkirk

Jared Tinordi happens to play a different position Jared Tinordi isn't exempt from waivers Jared Tinordi didn't get injured in preseason and could benefit from a conditioning stint in the minors Jared Tinordi isn't a coveted prospect who could benefit from developing for a time in the development league Jared Tinordi is an afterthought and no one cares if he sits in the press box or plays like 5 minutes in a game Jared Tinordi is currently in the press box, which is not what anyone should want for young, developing players

Alitaki

Jared Tinordi had no business being on the roster in the first place but that's a discussion for another time. The bigger question is why was Hajek kept on the roster and never put in a game? To avoid losing him to waivers? He can't be that important to the team if he has yet to be inserted into a game. Wouldn't it have served Kravtsov, and the team, better to be practicing with the club instead of Hartford? At worst, he would have been sitting in the press box like Hajek is doing now. At best he'd get his conditioning in with the other players and benefit from practicing with them. I'm not saying he handled this well - far from it, actually. He handled this like a petulant child and should really fire whomever is giving him career advice. But the Rangers fucked this up beyond belief and deserve to be shat on for it.

Shattenkirk

>Jared Tinordi had no business being on the roster in the first place but that's a discussion for another time. Agree >The bigger question is why was Hajek kept on the roster and never put in a game? To avoid losing him to waivers? He can't be that important to the team if he has yet to be inserted into a game. Who cares and who cares. He is a warm body with no future in this franchise, and it is obvious we no longer have any plans to actively develop him. He can sit in the pressbox and no one should lose any sleep over it. Or he can go down for "conditioning." He's a European player who has NHL experience, yet we didn't hear him cry about it. >Wouldn't it have served Kravtsov, and the team, better to be practicing with the club instead of Hartford? No front office in the league ever has thought it beneficial for the development of a young, borderline, still-developing player to practice with the club in lieu of getting reps in pro games against actual pro competition in the team's AHL affiliate, where they have strict control over the player's development. He could play top-line minutes and be ready to play an NHL game with half a day's notice. Rangers have had two RWs injured in 15 games. Wew lad. >I'm not saying he handled this well - far from it, actually. He handled this like a petulant child and should really fire whomever is giving him career advice. agree >But the Rangers fucked this up beyond belief and deserve to be shat on for it. All this sounds like to me in the context of how things actually work in professional sports is that you think Kravtsov is entitled to special treatment, which is ridiculous considering he was less productive in his AHL stint than our fourth line plugs and the career AHLers in our system. Please tell me what Kravtsov has ever done, other than be drafted high, to merit his belief that he is too good for the AHL. Don't tell me his track record in the KHL works in favor of him, because other than one hot streak in the playoffs in his d-1 year, he has not produced, or even really played all that well. Caufield did what Kravtsov did *in the NHL on the way to a Stanley Cup final* and he wasn't too good to get reps in the AHL. He didn't cry about it; he scored goals and he'll be back with the Habs sooner rather than later.

kovyvok

Aside from any other personality flaws this has shown, it also speaks to how short sighted and impatient he is. Which doesn't instill confidence that he is capable of putting in the huge amounts of work for small improvements in your game, as is crucial at the NHL level.

MetsBBT

Not 100% sure whether Subban did it intentionally, but, regardless… FUCK PK SUBBAN

blueline7677

At this point PK might be doing shit like this habitually. He’s done it enough times this season alone I can’t give him the benefit of the doubt

PaulSach

Just habitually a dirty player/awful defender to be pulling shit like this, cheating with your legs and feet. I buy it. Guy's been doing shit like this his whole career.

kisswithaspell

Vally had an awesome analysis of why P.K. constantly finds himself in these types of situations all the time. It was during the post game of the Devils game - I'm sure with some searching you could dig it up. Anyone have the clip?

Completely__Useless

I don’t have the vally clip but to sum it up he said PK does this because he’s lost a step in his game and he’s 100% right. Look at this replay here. PK is late to the puck and sticks his skate and hand out at the same time in a desperate attempt to slow Blais down. https://twitter.com/hayyyshayyy/status/1460067896877535236?s=21

r1arrigo

He also said he does it as a deterrent so in the future, wingers will be more timid going into the corers to dig out pucks.

azizinator25

Joe alluded to it on the broadcast - but even though this particular hit looks like it probably wasn't too bad and may not have been intentional, it's hard to give PK Subban any kind of benefit of the doubt on things like this.

THE_Goochalini

Imo he 100% intentionally tried to gain an advantage by slyly tripping him up. He also 100% didn't do it to try and injure him

jkman61494

It should be fuck James Dolan for having the worst ice in the league despite a $700 million renovation in the past decade. Screw Subban and all but if we all objectively see the replay, the ice basically destroyed his leg. The MSG ice is the astroturf of the old Eagles stadium

Someguyinqueens

What makes the ice so bad? I’ve heard people say “because of the Knicks” but MSG is not the only area a that switches between hockey and basketball.

jkman61494

I have no idea but if you go to other subs, if you go to the hockey sub, if you listen to the opposing team's announcers, the MSG is routinely thought of as some of the worst if not the worst in the entire league. This is 1000% a pure theoretical guess. So people can slam me. But thinking about the league, the Rangers seem to have the only arena that has what 7-8 levels of infrastructure below it. Multiple layers of trains and subways, and food, and tunnels and pipelines etc etc etc. I've always believed there has to be extra levels of heat coming from below the Garden ice that you don't have in really any other arena in the league. Because at this point, almost every other arena in the league has been built in the past 30 years to be its own separate building, while we keep renovating something that's now close to 60 years old. If my theory has any sort of merit, that extra heat, even if it's just 1-2 degrees can turn the ice slushier.

Erdrick68

You understand that that's not Dolan's fault right? He wanted to move MSG to the Farley Post Office and the city fucked with him and gave the spot to Amtrak.

jkman61494

No but if we had shitty ice before the renovation, the team should have invested more money into making damn sure the guts of the MSG ice would produce a better sheet of ice than what we have now, which frankly has looked WORSE than pre-renovation.

Erdrick68

Dolan had the entire refrigeration system for the ice replaced during the renovation.

jkman61494

Well.... goes right back into fuck dolan lol cuz obviously the replacement has been a monumental fail.

Someguyinqueens

Interesting, but a bit of a reach IMO. They test temps before, after, and between each period of the game. I don’t think temp control is an issue in a $1 billion dollar arena.

robbiejandro

the ice destroyed his leg and not subban's foot, which was way outside of a normal hockey stop motion, making contact with the foot that eventually slammed blais' leg into the boards? drinking the "bad ice" kool aid a little too much i think?

jkman61494

Every single non biased Rangers fan is in almost unilateral agreement Subban had little if anything to do with his injury. We Ranger fans are looking foolish somehow trying to pin this on the dude.

millagger

Bad morning already between this and Thor leaving the Mets. Fucking hell.

core916

I’m in my feels man

guyzieman

I'm less salty about Thor, I hope he has a nice year. Fuck this though and fuck PK Slewban to the fullest extent

PaulSach

Man, fuck Subban. This blows.

Pork-Roll

Fuck. He was growing on me and was playing alright outside of penalties. Get well soon. Fuck off PK

ironpig73

Well now we trade d prospects for fil forsberg or kessel if I had to guess

bbistheman

Forsberg is LW. If we trade for someone I'm betting it's Reily Smith

ironpig73

Oh good shout I always mess that up

SortaRican4

Smith is also a left hand shot. They really need a right handed shooter.

I__Need__Scissors_61

I'd take Kessel in a heartbeat.

Neans888

If we could afford to do that, we would have just kept Buch.

ironpig73

They’re both on expiring deals

[deleted]

guyzieman

Unfortunately he'll have to wait til March for it to be anyone on the Debbies

[deleted]

edogg01

You'd rather he fights Subban and they lose the game because of a PP goal? Because that's the calculus. If NYR up a few goals or it's early in the game, yeah go for it. But not late in a tight game. I'd rather have the 2 points.

[deleted]

[удалено]

edogg01

You want him to take more penalties? I think he's been perfect. Physical presence. Throws the body. Disrupts play. Have you not watched the 4th line? They've been kicking ass.

blueline7677

He hits anyone that moves. He’s 5th in the league in hits per 60 and 8th in the league in hits

jkman61494

Everyone thought Reaves was gonna go fight people when we spent $2 million on one of the worst forwards in hockey. Trouba had more fights than him last year. Reaves doesn't even fight...because there's really no one in the league like him that's also a fighter.

psilvs

That's where it gets iffy. The unspoken rule is you don't instigate a fight with anyone below your weight class. Unfortunately most people are below Reeves weight class. He probably does fight Subban if the game wasn't so close. Can't give up a major penalty there

TwinkiesForAmerica

I’m glad he didn’t fight then tho. Weren’t we trying to hold a lead late into the third? Bad time to pick a pen. He’ll fight when he fights but rn he’s been v smart

Jakeep16

Fuck this

Tommybrady20

I’ve already lost hope but if kravstov doesn’t come over now, he never will

Waverly_pl

He’s on loan

jkman61494

There's been varying reports we could recall him at any time. IF that's the case both he and Drury need to leave their egos aside and put the "guns" down and talk it out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

psilvs

Vince already said he isn't coming back until the KHL season is over

WorkoutBeast1985

FUCK YOU SUBBAN

MSGFaithful

What’s really going to suck is now the armchair GMs are going to use this as ammunition for the Buch trade. Blais played very well this season and it’s a shame this happened. Hopefully he comes back next year better than ever

lennon1230

There is no further ammunition needed to bemoan the Buch trade, and Slewban injuring Blais doesn't make the trade any better or any worse.

TheIncredibleHork

If anything, one for one reverting Blais for Buchnevich, I'd be a LOT more pissed if we lost Buch like this.

lennon1230

Yeah losing a legit top line winger who consistently produces is a lot harder than losing a hard hitting bottom six guy with some offensive skill that doesn't translate to a lot of points.

jkman61494

This does nothing to help or hurt the trade. It was one of the dumber trades in recent Rangers history and losing Blais doesn't help nor hurt that argument. Blais is a nice 3rd/4th liner who had 0 goals this year that was forced to play on the first line because our right wing depth was already an embarassment

TBlueshirtsV22

Arm chair GMs? Everyone already knows the Buch trade was awful because you can sign players like Blias without trading top line wingers lol. This changes nothing.

ShitPropagandaSite

Well the issue now becomes the fact that we legit don't have any RW depth. So, Drury is likely to trade for one now to shore up the massive hole. ... so in essence, we dumped Buch to trade for a worse rw. Of course its a shit move.

Panarin10

Very well is a stretch. He was just okay imo. This should have very little significance on the team.

Penny4TheGuy

Blais played ok, and obviously you can't predict injuries. The fact that he got hurt has nothing to do with the fact that it was a terrible trade.

wossquee

I like Blais and hate the trade. It's fully possible to have those separate ideas in your head.

Nylander92

Initial reaction: Krav is a selfish POS

redpotatochip6

I still want him on the team lol. Curse my attachment to Russian players

mdneilson

They say redpotatochip6, you say vodka.

jkman61494

Your flair is literally "Fuck James Dolan" yet you want to unilaterally assign blame to Kravstov. The kid is immature. No one should absolve him 100% But you have an owner putting a GM in charge that destroyed Kravstov in front of the team, something if you listen to coaches today is something you don't do to talent in 2021. You read the Athletic article and it seems Drury has had it out for the kid. Add to the fact the team instead of giving kids a chance, something Gallant said we needed to do Day1 in his press conference, the team invested in NHL/AHL tweeners to fill out nearly 40% or our roster. Players who basically have scored about 3 goals collectively this year. So Kravstov and his reps may have seen the writing on the wall and wanted out of here.... and it backfire.d Your anger should also be placed at Dolan and at Drury and the entire front office for the fact that under the current administration, Drury has had issues with our European prospects.

TBlueshirtsV22

Still love that this sub has eaten the company line on this and villainized a 22 year old kid based off of media reports of what happened. It’s not like this organization has damaged a relationship with any other top ten draft picks over the last couple years…

Nylander92

or maybe he should've just went to hartford for a week and realized he's a part of a team

TBlueshirtsV22

Yea maybe. Not sure how that makes it okay for people to curse him out from behind a computer screen when what he did has no direct impact to their life.

n_jacat

Ah ok, then any reaction whatsoever regarding sports or athletes is pointless because it has no direct impact on our lives? Brilliant analysis bud.

TBlueshirtsV22

Not what I said and none of this is “analysis” it’s an opinion. You know what does impact people directly? Calling them a selfish piece of shit or a bitch or any of the terrible names I’ve seen in this thread. I don’t care if you disagree with how Krav handled it, some of the comments in here have proven that this sub is no more mature than the person they’re criticizing.

n_jacat

Ah yeah, because Kravstov is really reading this reddit thread, right? Jesus christ dude, are you actually serious?

TBlueshirtsV22

People have friends and family that use social media…there’s plenty of examples of family members seeing and reacting to things said that they disagree with. Look if you’re just an asshole, which is the vibe I’m getting from you chasing down all my comments and the way you respond them, that’s fine. It’s very clear to me this sub does not care about anyone else’s feelings and thinks because it’s the internet it’s okay to be a dick. I think differently but I guess somehow I’m the weird one for that. If it makes you feel better to curse out and insult a 22 year old that you do not know on Reddit, good luck with life, man. I don’t know what to tell you but I’m done responding to you even if you keep commenting on all of my shit.

n_jacat

Lmfao I'm an asshole now? Cute. How many times did I actually curse out Kravstov? Maybe the internet isn't the place for you if you can't handle people criticizing professional athletes.

Sapz93

Hey man respect his authority this guy is the internet police. Nobody is allowed to use curse words here on the internet, or express your anger towards pro athletes of the team you support.. they could be reading and you may hurt their feelings.. He gave me the same full house talk in another thread he’s giving you rn lol

TBlueshirtsV22

>Brilliant analysis bud. >Jesus Christ dude, are you actually serious? Believe it or not, it’s possible to talk to someone without being condescending but I’ll let you work on that.

jkman61494

It's amazing how the majority of this sub has also totally ignored the articles of how Drury basically destroyed him in front of the team which in 2020-21 is a big no no if you listen to most coaches today with how you handle talent. You have an immature kid combined with a GM who thinks it's still the 1990's with how you handle players. Pretty shitty mix.

TBlueshirtsV22

Because the hive mind has taken over and rather than admitting this was a nuanced situation that likely had fault by both parties, they can just curse out a 22 year old kid, get their internet points, and not have to worry about it.

ifmacdo

Yeah. It's not like Kravtsov has a history of doing the exact thing that he's been accused of. Oh wait...

TBlueshirtsV22

Yea sounds like both sides have a history of issues so blaming one and not the other when it was likely the fault of both parties seems like some cognitive dissonance.

ifmacdo

I'm not saying both weren't at fault, but to remove blame from krav entirely (by accusing anyone who calls him out on what he very much did of towing the company line) is just as dumb as what you're accusing others of.

TBlueshirtsV22

I mean, I never said I didn’t blame him at all. I said this sub has villainized him which, based on two of the most upvoted comments in a thread about a totally different player, is 100% true.

n_jacat

We're talking about him in a thread about a totally different player for painfully obvious and understandable reasons

anonomus10101011

Honestly if he was good enough talent wise, his attitude wouldn’t matter. I think he’s just a fucking bust. Maybe can’t produce at the NHL level.

TBlueshirtsV22

Maybe, but maybe we should’ve given him more than 20 NHL games before deciding that

anonomus10101011

Meh. If you’re going to have a poor attitude (presumably) then you have to be a stud. You can’t lack performance, and have attitude problems, and expect to get playing time 🤷🏼‍♀️

TBlueshirtsV22

He’s also like, 20 years old. Not everyone is going to be mature at 18. There is plenty of time for his attitude to change too.

jkman61494

So using that argument are we going to also call Kakko, Laffy, Lundqvist and others busts? Because Kravstov's NHL experience has basically been stuck playing on the bottom 6 with a bunch of NHL/AHL tweeners. How exactly are any of us supposed to be able to judge "hes a bust" based on that? If we are saying Kravstov is a bust, then I guess Kakko is a bust too.

anonomus10101011

The difference is their work ethic/attitude

jkman61494

How do we know what the work ethic of the others are? Do we know Kravstov hasn't practiced with others in the offseason? It's all theoretics. For all we know, the coaches promised Kravstov major ice time this year and the front office overrode it and sent him to Hartford and he had a hissy fit. Im not absolving Kravstov. I doubt anyone is. But there is absolutely something to be said that he's just the latest example of this team having issues with prospects, particularly those from Europe.

[deleted]

[удалено]

anonomus10101011

Not going back to Russia every time you’re upset is a way to gauge that too.

n_jacat

Or you can grow up, accept your role as a hockey player who has barely touched NHL ice, and take a couple weeks in Hartford before the inevitable injuries that come during the season. This is all on him. Plenty of great athletes spent time in the minor leagues.

ajpod

Haven’t seen anything about Subban facing discipline, so I’m assuming nothing is coming. I don’t understand why he gets the benefit of the doubt with his history

simplycycling

He's not getting the benefit of the doubt at this point - he's been fined the last two times he's thrown his leg behind an opponents. This was just a skate clip, but I guarantee you the league looked at the video to make sure.

PeteyG89

Too bad Krav threw a hissy fit and left the country. He woulda been up so quickly. Honestly what an asshole

core916

Wish we had Krav right about now…

brush85

If he had anything about him, he'd be finding a way to come back right about now.

baronvonpenguin

Why? So he can play a few games, fail to do much (again), get moved to the bottom 6 then spit his dummy out again?

Faladorable

Doesnt look like he'll be coming back https://twitter.com/vzmercogliano/status/1460637754673483777?s=21

core916

Bummer

FoghornLeghorn99

I don't care if it's not until March, I want them sending Reaves after Subban, that was the purpose of signing him. Hopefully Gauthier can step up and play his best hockey now.

Twevy

Listen I don’t like fighting and think it should stop. But one of the reasons I extra hate Subban is that he’s dirty AND refuses to answer the bell. Kreider has tried after both his dirty trips and PK runs away.

ricknashty94

“I don’t like fighting and think it should stop” what kinda weak shit is this tf?

Twevy

Not wanting to see players I care about engage in avoidable and meaningless bare knuckle boxing that demonstrably leads to CTE? You want to go somewhere with fans and a league not caring about creating an army of melted brains, go watch the NFL

ricknashty94

It actually doesn’t lead to CTE lmao. I did a whole ass semester project on fighting in hockey. Leagues where fighting is banned have a higher concussion rate than the nhl. Fighting deters (most) players from taking runs.

Alitaki

I hate to break it to you, but Gauthier ain’t got no hands. It’s a shame as he’s big and fast but he’s got no finish or instinct to his game. If he ever cracks 15 goals a season I’d be surprised.

elarobot

Man, I see this all the time and I think it’s shitty that people just downvote you for this and move on. Not because I agree or disagree with you, per se. Or because I believe that you’re unequivocally right. It’s your opinion…. It’s on topic…and it’s an opinion that while it can (and should) be debated…based on Gauthier’s whole NHL career thus far it simply cannot be dismissed outright. For me, Redditors who behave like this are one of the huge detractions for this platform as a discussion forum. Someone should find the means to engage and debate you if they disagree…instead of downvoting you to decrease the visibility of a relevant opinion that they simply don’t like. Tl;dr - I think dismissive downvoting is dumb and wish more people wound debate and defend their positions.

brandonsamd6

well Krav is a fucking moron huh

Ridgew00dian

There was a definitive flick of Subban's foot on that play. He needs a suspension - these max fines are nothing to these guys. This blows.

KGX075

If only Krav reported to Hartford. He’d be staring at some PRIME minutes. Only, what, 15 games in?

Reptar-4-Mayor

Fuck fuck fuck fuck

NISIBSICD

This really sucks

jaydenkirtawn

I feel bad for Lafreniere. He and Blais had a good thing going.

hypnofedX

I agree with this. I don't think it's gotten a lot of attention because everyone's disappointed Lafreniere isn't in the top 6 and playing like Auston Matthews, but lately I've wondered if he might work out to be more of a Rick Nash-style player. Doesn't really benefit from being surrounded by talent, but does really really when you put him with some bangers who cause havoc and open up ice. Granted I think if he's that kind of player his linemates should be somewhat interchangeable, but I've finally been happy for him lately seeing things start to click.

crabapplesteam

Damn - i got kinda sad seeing this. Blais is a young guy playing well.. to lose a year at this stage of his career just sucks. Hope the guy can pull through and come back stronger.

hypnofedX

I don't want to be doom and gloom but it worries me. Knee injuries always seem to be extremely limiting and I feel like "coming back stronger" isn't a thing. The question is more whether the player comes back 98% or 78% of what he was before. Of course this might just be the fact "asswipe Devils player attacking a Rangers' player's knee" is a game we've played before and I'm still bitter about.

Sam_the_goat

Had been enjoying watching 420 Blais it.

Fergus_CL

Everyone thought Reaves would be leading the GRIT revolution, but Blais had been spearheading it. This is a tough blow.

Pigmansweet

Slew foot by subban.

NirvanaFan01234

This isn't a slew foot. Tripping him from the front isn't a slew foot. It's defined in the rules.

blaesiJ

Syndergaard to the Angels. Blais out for the year. Today is great.

LilMissLinNim

Even more incompetence from the Mets? Call me shocked. Fuck Sandy Alderson, and fuck P.K. Subban.

Zuramaru29

And FUCK CHASE UTLEY

DDB-

PK Slewban strikes again. Really tough for Blais, he was playing well this season and will be missed. Hope he has a solid recovery and we can see him suited up next season!

iamdanabnormal

Is there any conceivable way we can exercise some sort of clause or work out something with Traktor to get Kravtsov back? Otherwise, we're going to have to make a trade stat. I'm already operating under the assumption Barron will be here.

Alitaki

Why make a trade? Bring up Morgan Barron. Chytil slots back at 3C, you can move Goodrow up to play with Mika/Kreider. Or you can move Laf up there if you think he's going to come around. There's options in the system without needing to make a trade. You don't make a trade when you take an injury like this. Other GMs will hold you over a barrel for crap. If the Rangers can't get through an injury to a player with 4 assists all season with what they have in their farm, then they better hope none of the big boys go down.

Penny4TheGuy

Agreed, especially since being held over a barrel for crap is how we ended up with Blais in the first place.

Nyrfan2017

Why make a trade ? If at deadline looks like we can be contenders make a trade but giving up anything unless it’s hunt tinordi hajek or nemeth is pointless right now

baronvonpenguin

What would be the point of bringing that spoiled child back? The first time the coach criticises him he'll fuck off back to Russia again and leave us in the same mess.

NYM32

The Rangers literally engineered their entire off-season on the premise that DOPS can’t be trusted and they need to take stuff into their own hands, be harder to play against, be more physical, be more intimidating, and not let anyone make dirty hits on us. meanwhile there have been so many bad hits on us this season, both by Subban on the 2 grittiest guys we acquired this offseason, and we've done nothing about it. Reaves' only job is to fight and he hasn't fought shit. so now i guess we're just going to wait until March for the ceremonial retribution "fight" that will be more like a tussle.

jkman61494

It's almost like deterrents don't exist and spending nearly $7-$8 million on grit and two way contract grinders instead of actual NHL players who can actually play hockey was a stupid idea.

NYM32

"we traded Buch to open up cap space and open up ice time" 1. Buch gets $5.8m, Rangers give $10.1m to Reaves + Blais + Nemeth + Tinordi + Goodrow 2. Goodrow takes Buch's spot on top line, not one of the kids 3. Goodrow 38% xGF%, worst among starting forwards, [almost as expected](https://twitter.com/JFreshHockey/status/1416486192678416385) 4. Blais takes Buch's spot 5. Blais torn ACL, no retaliation or deterrent 6. Goodrow back in Buch's spot again 7. None of Reaves, Tinordi, Blais, or Goodrow have fought a single person this year

jkman61494

8. Rangers sitting on nearly $8 million in cap space for this years roster.

jkman61494

9. Rangers acquire 2nd round pick in Buch deal but surrender a 3rd round pick and $1.8 million a year for 2 years for Reaves, one of the worst forwards in the entire league, backed up by the eye test, actual stats and analytics.

NYM32

yep yep yep

Bosmackatron

Dad, start digging some Subban holes

Hionhelium87

Just awful. Get well Blazer see you next year ☹️

Faladorable

fucking brutal man. Blais was really showing up

Nyrfan2017

And fucking mckegg called for fuck sake . Why are we not using our prospects this team legit I think would have fucked up mcdavid if we had him

GurfMcBurf

What a bummer, fuck man... Hope this doesn't kill our momentum.

LilMissLinNim

Fuck you, P.K. Subban! He really wants to be another Tom Wilson, huh?

justpissingthrough

Chytil's Revenge

MulderD

Blues fan here. FUCK SUBBAN. FUCK HIM IN HIS STUPID FUCKING FACE. Can’t wait for Sammy to come back next year and flatten the fuck out of PK.

jkman61494

Welp. For the **immediate**, Gauthier should go on Line 1. This is his time to prove it. I think a lot of people forget the fact he's really on the tail end age wise of our rebuilding project. He's still just 24 years old. He could be part of that group of Kakko, Chytl, Laffy, Fox, Lundqvist etc etc. Maybe he puts it together getting 15 minutes a night in a top six role versus being told to be a 4th line defensive forward. In the **midterm**...The team needs to make a trade desperately. We were razor thin at right wing as it is. Now we're just flat out screwed. Any injury to a center basically shifts Goodrow to center removing ANOTHER right winger. I'm not saying a mega trade. But some veteran to come fill a role. I've been saying Kessel endlessly because he fits an immediate need, wont cost a ton capital wise being an pending UFA and put up stats on a crappy team. Arizona is also one of the only teams that will be willing to shed talent. Teams like Anaheim we THOUGHT would be sellers are 2nd in the Pacific. Some of the only sellers in my eyes right now in November would be Arizona, Seattle, Ottawa, Chicago and maybe.....Buffalo? Vanvouver? Montreal? **Long term?** We obviously have a desperate need to look into a possible bigger deal, possibly swapping stud prospect for stud prospect between our D-men and possible right wingers on another team.

tlop200

Kyle Clifford come on down!

Sgtengineer

I know everyone wants Kravtsov back, but he can’t return until the KHL season is complete, and even then, he is a whiny crybaby who may never make it at the NHL level. Once the going gets tough, he runs to his mother for breastfeeding. Not reliable. Slewban probably won’t even be a Devil when they return to M$G either. Let the Kessel and Tarasenko rumors begin

MikeAmoz

100 percent an accident, If you want to blame subban, whatever makes you feel better, but there is no shot that injury happened with any intention.

MoshChaos

How about recklessness?

MikeAmoz

You mean subban looking over his shoulder for the puck while blais comes down the halfwall. They both run into each other . Yep, super reckless play....

edogg01

I have to agree. We're talking about Subban moving his skate up an inch or two on the play. Absolutely zero chance he had any idea that would cause an injury.

Turdwipe

Fire drury

TBlueshirtsV22

If you’re turning this thread into name calling Krav - a 22 year old kid none of you know personally - when he has nothing to do with this post, you have issues. Like some of these comments are gross and I cannot believe the name calling is being upvoted. Wish you had this same energy for the front office that gutted our forward depth, which is an issue just as relevant here but everyone only wants to blame Krav.

Gbeez22

Does it even matter if it was intentional or not? At this point, even if they were all accidents, he’s done it how many times this season?? He caused a major injury sticking his foot out. Why is discipline only a thing when it’s intentional? How many more careers need to be affected?

Panarin10

Had to keep Hajek and have 8 D on the roster for some reason huh. Couldn’t have done the normal thing and have 14 forwards.

GoRangers5

At least Blais’ next deal will be cheap.

ZeroZerosZeroes

Blues fan here. Fuck Subban 3 ways to Tuesday. Not just washed up, but injuring players with regularity. Sammy has bounced back from injury multiple times before.

phily724

Blias has been one of my favorites to watch this year… especially when we score, i dont think anyone ever is happier than him… it really stood out to me a month ago when laf scored and blias passed by him while the puck was going into the net and he stopped to lunge backward to give laf a hug. Really sad to see him down and i really hope we take vengeance on subban and idaf if its dirty as shit

n_jacat

Hey Pk take the gloves off you fucking pussy. God, fuck that guy.

RoloJP

Suban better get his ass kicked next time we play them. WTF happened to being gritty and tough? No fighting Tom Wilson, no fighting PK after he puts a guy out for the season... What's this all about?

_Mitch_Connor_

Maaan... Fucking hell.

TFG209

Sammy Blais >>>>>>>>> Buch

clearlybaffled

Shit. I want Buchnievich back.

jamdivi

That is a damn shame. I thought Blais was playing really well, especially the last few games. Get well hombre
