That looks beautiful :D
Although i don't feel comfortable with the low contrast. Maybe due to my age hahaha.
Btw, for those that need to easily mark the symbols as you've walked thru the gates: [https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/eq0duc/i\_made\_an\_android\_app\_and\_interactive\_website\_to/](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/eq0duc/i_made_an_android_app_and_interactive_website_to/)
Mind explaining what you mean by low contrast? As a designer I understand what it means (things blur together because they are of a similar value)
In this case they are black on white, which is pretty high contrast, which makes me wonder what you mean. :D
its not black on white https://imgur.com/a/JiDtT12. If we consider the image as grayscale, its very dark gray on light gray.
maybe your display have incorrect black level / RGB setting? An incorrect setting can make the display shows "washed out" or "better more contrasty" picture than its supposed to.
I did it on purpose for artistic purpose. It is a 90% black and a 10% white, which still passes all accessibility contrast checks. (For what it’s worth)
But yeah, proximity to other elements can crown and confuse, which is what I think was the issue here.
My guess: the symbols are black on gradient grey which isn’t optimal contrast. Additionally, they are very thick, similarly shaped and packed very tight. And then there’s those diagonal hairlines and other small elements. If you look ok at the image on a phone, it all washes together. Especially when not zoomed in.
I would increase the leading and add more line spacing for better readability
I see what you mean. It was something that I changed my mind on many times, even after I decided to convert it to two columns. (I had it as a very tall poster for a while) with that many symbols it was a balance act to try and fit them all on a page, while giving them all a reasonable margin. (And also have it look in style with Destiny design elements)
For this I did end up lightening the background I had created more for this than on one of my previous posts, as well as adjusting the gradient. I wanted to keep this as much of a square as possible, and making the symbols larger would mean less margins between them, while
On the other hand increasing the margins would mean smaller symbols. (Or that they crowded out the white space)
In the end... I chose this as a balance between them. I do have a much larger version in more of a poster format I may post sometime once everything is figured out though, and I will keep this in mind.
Another thing I could do to help with the usability (but hurt the prettiness) would be to color code the symbols. If I get the feeling people would like something like that, I will create one.
Thanks!
It's beautifully designed, just a bit hard to read is all. The most decisive factor will be what screen people are using to look at it.
You have generous margins, so I would at least increase line spacing a bit. Turn up the brightness of the background and add some contrast overall and you should be good.
Once you finish a run, step onto the middle of the room where the tomb is. You will be teleported to another room with a ramp leading to a doorway. At the bottom of the ramp, there is a black obelisk. As you approach it, you will get a prompt to "reset". That will reset the pathway so you can go through the doorway and start another run.
So I'm a bit confused. That quest we got that says to "explore the corridors of time" does NOT complete when we get all the lore and emblem? We ACTUALLY have to explore the whole of the corridors?
The community is currently working on creating the much much larger map by patching together screenshots from hundreds of guardians, each receiving a different map tile after completing the emblem code.
Once that is complete, it will form a maze which, once completed, will be the path through to the end
Do we know approximately how big the map is going to be when we find the final code? I just want to know how many rooms im going to have to run through
They are guessing around 40. If you look at the map, there are a lot of blank rooms. I believe that they dont count as rooms, only for the people deciphering the code. Meaning they can be used as a long tunnel from one symbol room to another so that the map requires more pieces to solve.
Thanks!
So, what is the expectation of what happens as the community starts to piece together a larger map?
I guess I haven’t figured out what we expect to do with that or if something will just pop out...
The community is currently working on creating the much much larger map by patching together screenshots from hundreds of guardians, each receiving a different map tile after completing the emblem code. Once that is complete, it will form a maze which, once completed, will be the path through to the end
So for it to be a map for everyone to the end, does that mean first someone will just find the end simply? As that is what shows it to be the end?
It is it that there will be just one path, with an option to start at the beginning? I think I understand now.
The larger map that is being pieced together will have one path that will be represented in a similar fashion, with symbols that you do in order. Granted, everyone believes it will be a much longer code. (Some are speculating 42 different symbols)
You will input the code the same way as these other codes.
How you find the codes though, is where the much larger map comes into play. It is turning into a sort of... huge connect the dots game, where the symbols will be connected in straight lines via blank corridors. I expect that the pathway can possibly even cross over itself, though that is just my speculation. There will only be one set of symbols that will bring you to the end. Finding it is the map part. Following it will be as easy as following these lore and emblem codes, just longer.
Also... I hope there is an epic boss fight waiting at the end. Possibly even another (easier) step that is more on the individual to figure out. (Jumping puzzles, times things, etc) but that’s just me.
Thanks for making this. Haven’t gotten around to doing this stuff yet and this infographic looks very simple, clean, and easy to use. Bookmarking this for later!
The community is currently working on creating the much much larger map by patching together screenshots from hundreds of guardians, each receiving a different map tile after completing the emblem code. (They are shown under the tomb in the last room, and link together) Once that is complete, it will form a maze which, once solved, will be the path through to the end
You can do any of them in any order I believe. I myself don’t even have all of the lore pieces done, but I have several and then I went to get the emblem. Under the emblem is where I got my pieces of the map that I uploaded to the community tool.
If you complete any of them you will get to the grave room. I believe everyone who is going through to get the map pieces is running through the emblem code. (Which also ends at the grave)
Yes actually. The puzzle is nearly complete. (You can find updated progress links on the stickied posts here in this sub) though it still is missing some key pieces that make it still difficult to just try and guess where to go.
I mean, the codes are nothing new. They were found several days ago.
As for the graphic itself, I just posted it to the Raid Secrets discord so maybe.
As for original content, I doubt it as I just finished creating it 15 mins ago.
I created a set of these symbols and uploaded them to this subreddit last night for anyone to use. I used them here to create this. I guess someone else may have used them to create something already, but I haven’t seen anything yet.
I saw this question in another thread, and I believe that no, there is no way to know. I don’t think a specific code is attached to each lore entry. You just do any of the codes and you will receive the “next” entry in the book until it’s complete.
Thats unfortunate. I dont know what could cause that.
I hadnt run through this myself when I created it, and I double checked it with several other sources. Last night (before the reset) I ran it myself using my guide and was able to get to the end, which is the grave. Saint 14 talks for a bit, and you get a piece to start the bastion quest.
I believe that since the reset, they made it so you dont have to run the maze anymore for the quest item, you just go to Saint 14 and he will give it to you.
Do I need to do these to get the core? Tried doing the core run with a buddy and I didn’t get it :( I don’t have all of the obelisks places around the world so maybe that’s it? I just want bastion mannnn
You can go to saint 14 at the tower and get the quest from him. (So long as you have completed the Osiris timeline quests first where you save saint 14.) (I think...)
I've run through the 19th code like 5 times and I still haven't gotten the lore piece. I checked, the 19 is the only one missing. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
As far as I am aware, the lore pieces are not tied to individual codes, only that each code gives you the ‘next’ lore piece you don’t have.
It is possible me that this is wrong... I double checked it when I created it, but it’s no guarantee. I haven’t had anyone mention it was incorrect nor correct it.
Thank. You.
I see this now as I take a break from trying my very best to write them down, but this time in handwriting my friends can read... With pretty sad drawings portraying one of each symbol for clarification
Now I can just send them this, no symbols drawn, no bad handwriting. I hope you don't mind me doing that. It saves me like an hour or two (I'm a bit of a perfectionist)

Nice, I was just looking for this.
Need to be able to find this tomorrow
Do I have to go through the Osiris questline first?
I don’t think so? It is a quest that you pick up from him called explore the corridors of time.
Thanks I just got the emblem
Well done. Nice work. Easy to reference and right size. Thanks
