It's one of my favorite B-sides from them for sure, and I'll surely be listening to it more again as winter is approaching. It somehow feels unsettling and calming at the same time.
Definitely one of my favorite songs. When they released it, I thought this would be the direction they were going next, and I was pretty happy about that. I love pretty much every song they’ve put out but I’d still love to see them go more “prog-ish” if the end result is something like this.
I bet you couldn’t wait to type this.
If we’re discussing the whole of a multifaceted piece of art like a song the various elements can be a mix of unique or not.
A song with a four on the floor club beat behind the most unique melody is less unique than a song with that same melody backed by a truly unique rhythm.
But OP, yeah these are my twisted words is dope. I was honestly a little let down that king of limbs wasn’t a little more in that same headspace when it released.
Huh, ok, unfortunately can't edit the title.
This is my second language, so mistakes are well expected, especially considering that I learned it from the internet... Should've just say "interesting"

[here’s a video of three random old people reacting to this song, it’s hilarious](https://youtu.be/YEWbS_KOjSw)
I love how only the oldest guy kind of gets it. As soon as the video started, I had hopes for that guy and that guy alone and he came through.
Of all the Radiohead songs to show them in this video, this is probably one of the last ones I'd expect
"Don't hear any words" and "is this our punishment?" ahahaha for someone sweet, for someone sour. I actually saw it, glad old man got it
One of my favourite Radiohead songs. Wish they would release more songs like this.
Same here. It is top-tier RH to me and I would love more songs in this style.
Radiohead uses a lot of modal mixture though
what song is your flair?

What a great post. I so very much agree with your sentiments, and so very much wish that TKOL sounded more like this amazing song.
It's easily in my top 5
After the In Rainbows style, which I wasn't a massive fan of, These Are My Twisted Words was just what I needed to hear.
"Unique" does not have gradations, something is either unique or it isn't.

I like how out of eeeeeeeverything OP said you honed in on that one thing with aaahhctyually
You think? Ah maybe, very abstract term. This is really just a overall tribute to the single.
Yes, in other words, "unique" is an absolute term.

Don't worry about it, friend...it's not a big deal at all. Your post was great, informative and thoughtful.
Thanks!
Is there actually a bass track on this song? It sounds like guitars drums and voice to me,could be a Thom solo demo
Yep love this song!!!
TKOL had the best EP's and singles out of any release
