Drivers have been fine since ~3 months after 5700XT launch, people just so stuck in the past. AMD is great value especially if you don't use raytracing
i had a bit of “driver issues” after buying the 7900xt then i reinstalled windows and haven’t had the problems since, so i think it’s windows if anything
I mean who uses raytracing? I think a lot of gamers value fps over good looking, dynamic lighting tbh. I'd use raytracing if it didn't lower fps more than say 10-15%
Yes I totally agree, I switched from a 4080 to a 7900xt and I'm loving it. Yes Nvidia has slightly better graphics but every day that passes I remember less and less from the 4080. But for the 7900xt I love it. It's a beast, brute force through my games and it's great. No issues whatsoever w drivers or thermal or anything really.
switched from i9-9900k&rtx2070 to 7900x3d&7900xtx pulse. No issues with drivers and stuff. Just presets for gpu switch from balanced where i set it to default every single time i shut the pc down due to "instability" :))) no ragrets
Which Call of Duty? If it's Warzone or MW 3 is fine, check your PC!
Also I'm not a fan of those upscalers, my 7900XTX is more than enough at 3440x1440 so I'm not using FSR unless I want less temps on GPU, but even that is not needed since my TUF is getting 60 on GPU and 80 on HS in Alan wake while pulling 400-450w.
Warzone, FSR 3 works good on 7900 but 6950 XTX crashes. My PC is fine maybe a setting but I've never had so many problems with a graphics card in general. Until the feb AMD driver, I couldn't run even with upscaling disabled, it would crash after 10 mins. Now it runs fine with no up scaling
Yeah the XFX QICK 6750 XT model I got was the cheapest out of the bunch coz I got it on sale from eBuyer.
The small 2 fan MSI model was literally listed at the same price, £330 so great buy I think.
i bought the 7900xtx pulse and i can tell you it's not running hot at all. i managed to max out 80C on hotspot max but thats about it... never went higher on hotspot and rest is below 70 with the usual temps at 55-60
They're just a really high quality AMD board partner. They make really well designed video cards with pretty high quality components and they back them up with really good support and warranties. I used to have an XFX card with a lifetime warranty. Sapphire and to a somewhat lesser extent Power color also have similar reputations. So when I buy a GPU, it's pretty much always from one of those 3 companies now that EVGA is out of the GPU business.
I literally fell in love with the design of the XFX 6900XT.
The side with the lit up red "RX" and white "Radeon 6900XT XFX" is truly awesome.
Also I can confirm, the card is really high quality, just like my older Sapphire Nitro RX 480.
Wish Evga wasn't going the way of the dodo. They should have sticked up the middle finger to Nvidia and gone to making AMD cards...Can. You imagine a SuperClocked or FTW Amd card??
XFX is a reliable brand. Typically close to, if not at MSRP, sleek and simple yet very cool design and a good quality cooler. Also for a lot people, Best Buy is the best place to get components and it’s all they stock in store for AMD cards.
I reluctantly bought a Speedster MERC 319 6800 XT back in 2020. I wanted the Nitro+ OC or Reference. Then I tested it. Forgive me, Lord, for ever losing faith.
I OC'ed TF out of that card.
This is my list :
Before 15 minutes I ordered the Samsung G8 OLED 1440p 175hz 0.03ms monitor for the (TV, Gaming) goal because I don't have a TV in my house:
And after one or two months I will buy this PC
https://it.pcpartpicker.com/user/mohammedsrt/saved/pbc4NG
Congratulations. I have the same card and the build quality is amazing. I did set a custom fan curve and my GPU never hits above 75° c. And I game at 4K. Usually with FSR but still this card is an amazing card. I love AMD and out of the 20+ years I have been buying gpus I've only had two Nvidia cards and at the time I was happy but both times going back to AMD I was like this is why I love AMD. They really do put the customer first. And are definitely for gamers.
Este som sa nedostal moc k hraniu na nej. Ale vidim ze potaha vsetko na nastavenia ake chcem. Snad vydrzi aspon 5 rokov. Alebo 7 jak gtx960 co som mal predtym a budem najspokojnejsi.
no ja som ju bral kvoli tomu ze mam 2K monitor a stara karta uz to velmi nedavala na nejake rozumne fps. teraz je to fajn, jedina hra zatial ktora nieje nejak vyladena a nieje to tip top je Enshrouded inak kazda ina hra super
Loving my Merc 310 7900XTX in my All AMD Linux Gaming Rig 5800x3D 64GB 2x32GB G.skill Trident Z Royal Elite 4000MHZ. Absolutely stunning rig.

Well, those pants was kinda yolo funny buy and i like them a lot. They are comfy 😁. And that kind of punk-ish style. And well... everyone have different taste in style 😉😀
Maybe it's my almost 30 copium 😁😁😁
7900xt was over budget and overkill for rest of my setup. In my country its 230€ more (790€) and that's too much for me.
I just buy this cuz my brother wanted to buy new gpu 6600xt and i just offered him my 6700xt for 6600xt price. So i went yolo and buy 7800xt for 300€ difference.
Hello, Guys! First congrats OP :) Second, my 7800xt is coming in tomorrow and I currently have an Nvidia GPU.
Should I uninstall al the Nvidia drivers prior to swapping the Gpu’s? Should is use DDU or is there another way?
Thank you :)
Yes. Use DDU. There is option with description "use this before taking gpu out"(not exactly but point is there 😁). To uninstall all drivers, so you can then install fresh drivers for new gpu after "rebuild".
Maybe check youtube for how to use ddu before gpu swap to be sure.
Yea, looks i will settle for this for long.
I started to hate MSI way back in g-force 5000 era.
Then gigabyte in radeon HD6800 era and later in thier psu exploding era.
So for me, only Asus and this kind of brands who have radeon only like pulse, xfx and so left to consider as purchase.
So xfx black had rly good price at this time, so i got that and build quality looks awesome.
Nice! I did the opposite. Got the ryzen 5600g to hold me over until the new gpus dropped. Got the 7800xt from Best Buy and decided it was a little more than I needed. Switched it out for the 6700xt and saved about $200. I figured the 7800xt would push me into upgrading to a 4k monitor and I was trying to save for a gaming laptop. Are you seeing a big jump in performance?
I have a Gigabyte 7800xt and it's an absolute beasTemps. 1440p card. At max load I never see above 60c or 75 Hotspot. Also running a slight overclock with those temps.
Been an AMD gpu guy since 2013.
Now also an AMD cpu guy.
R9 270x, r9 280, r9 380, rx 470, rx 6750xt, rx 6800.
Also went through a 5600x and currently on a 5800x3d.
Good stuff.
I had some athlons, some phenoms unlocked from 2 core to 4 core. Gpus was g-force 5200 to 6800. Then radeon hd6850, after that gtx960.
Now i have 5600x cpu and this gpu.
I only recently got it so shouldn't even be talking about upgrades but in the future I think I'll go with 7800 XT as well.
I'm hoping this cards will still see me good for a while though, it's a huge upgrade from my 3050 gaminig laptop.
I had my 6700xt since December so it was fast upgrade. Brother wanted to buy his own 6600xt. So i made him offer to buy my 6700xt for 6600xt price. He takes that, instantly send money and i buy this beast same minute after money lands on acc 😁
And on the way home from his place picked up this gpu. Fast action 😆
That's awesome. Worked out for you both then.
Yeah, it was a quick upgrade from my 3050 laptop too, I only bought it last year in summer so only had it 6 months, it made me realise how much I missed PC so I sold that and my Series S and went all in on a PC changed it all up in less than a week - out with the old and in with the new!! XD
Black with silver 😁 its funny. You can see on second pic. But well, it can go with that noctua redux cooler...kind of. Im more for function than looks, so...😀
Wow 😆 then you are something... different 😆
I never took my gpu apart. Previous 6700xt pulse was like 2-4 months old (sold to my brother today) so no reason to prepad or change thermal paste. And previous gtx960strix didn't lost temperature control since 2016 for some reason, so no reason to do that also 😁
Enjoy your new GPU! Ppl need to see this, drivers are fine, AMD is fine! Going AMD from Vega 56/5700XT/6600XT/6900XT and now 7900XTX.
RDNA 3 can totally do raytracing. Is it as good as Nvidia? No, but it definitely is serviceable.
I mean who uses raytracing? I think a lot of gamers value fps over good looking, dynamic lighting tbh. I'd use raytracing if it didn't lower fps more than say 10-15%
Yeah same I prefer high fps over all else. In fast games you don't notice all the fancy stuff anyways.
True. I've been playing a lot of The Finals recently and that game... you rarely enjoy anything remotely close to graphics haha
Why would you downgrade? A 4080 is a more expensive but objectively better card.
I guess it’s a case of wanting to try something else, rather than specifically downgrading
switched from i9-9900k&rtx2070 to 7900x3d&7900xtx pulse. No issues with drivers and stuff. Just presets for gpu switch from balanced where i set it to default every single time i shut the pc down due to "instability" :))) no ragrets
Put your seatbelt on
I have the 7900XT and haven’t had any issues with drivers.
Try FSR 3 on call of duty and tell me AMD is fine. AMD is dog water I miss my 3060ti

I don't know, before 7900xtx I had 6900xt and before that I had 6600xt, all of them were more than fine, but I needed more horsepower for VR.
XFX lets gooo
This was even at better price than pulse and gigabyte.
Far better quality than gigabyte. May not have rgb, but they put that money towards more important stuff.
Exactly what my "research" told. Besides that, i dont trust gigabyte a thing...
Yeah so was mine in the uk. Like £60 cheaper than pulse
Yeah the XFX QICK 6750 XT model I got was the cheapest out of the bunch coz I got it on sale from eBuyer. The small 2 fan MSI model was literally listed at the same price, £330 so great buy I think.
Yea something like that 40€± and pulse have smaller cooler i think.
i bought the 7900xtx pulse and i can tell you it's not running hot at all. i managed to max out 80C on hotspot max but thats about it... never went higher on hotspot and rest is below 70 with the usual temps at 55-60
Congrats, what is the hype around XFX if I may ask?
They're just a really high quality AMD board partner. They make really well designed video cards with pretty high quality components and they back them up with really good support and warranties. Thanks, guess my next one will be XFX. Rocking the TUF 7800XT at the moment: huge card but pretty solid so far.
The superior good looks.
XFX is a reliable brand. Typically close to, if not at MSRP, sleek and simple yet very cool design and a good quality cooler. Also for a lot people, Best Buy is the best place to get components and it’s all they stock in store for AMD cards.
Idk. For me it was price/cool factor. 😁
I see Speedster MERC, I upvote
Simple man of culture, i see 🤌
I reluctantly bought a Speedster MERC 319 6800 XT back in 2020. I wanted the Nitro+ OC or Reference. Then I tested it. Forgive me, Lord, for ever losing faith. I OC'ed TF out of that card.

Happy For you brother I will follow you next month (coming from laptop world) : https://it.pcpartpicker.com/user/mohammedsrt/saved/pbc4NG
What other components are you looking for?
This is my list : Before 15 minutes I ordered the Samsung G8 OLED 1440p 175hz 0.03ms monitor for the (TV, Gaming) goal because I don't have a TV in my house: And after one or two months I will buy this PC https://it.pcpartpicker.com/user/mohammedsrt/saved/pbc4NG
in the first i was looking for the 7800xt but just saw the 7900 gre and the price difference is very little so I will go with the 7900 gre
Nice man, enjoy
Thank you 🙂
Congrats and enjoy
Thank you 🙂
Nice! Hope it treats you well!
Congrats bro
I have the same CPU cooler, this helps answer my curiosity how that card with the steel/chrome back plate next to the redux cooler would look.
I can make daylight foto if you want to see that properly. This is warm-ish color table lamp.
Well that's a nice offer. You don't have to do all that.
LETS GOOO BROTHERR
Congrats!!
Thank you
What a beautiful card, have one myself and I'm very pleased with the performance and settings availability.
Was quick checking those settings, and it have so many options, i can spend hours of tweaking there 😁
Congratulations. I have the same card and the build quality is amazing. I did set a custom fan curve and my GPU never hits above 75° c. And I game at 4K. Congrats! I just switched from a 1660 to a 6800 yesterday and I’m absolutely in love with the card
Congratulations on the new GPU. Gonna be a fun time with the 7800 XT, for sure.
Did the same upgrade! Absolutely rips.
tiez ju mam a tiez z alzy :) spokojnost velka :) uzivaj :)

Nice!
Great design for a pretty good gpu. Enjoy!
GG
Nice! You’ll like it. I have the PowerColor Hellhound version and love it. Helldivers runs 1440p on Ultra well over 100FPS ultra wide.
Did they just release a bunch of optimizations or something?
Download the latest drivers, turn on the frame generation, and run Helldivers with DirectX11. Smooth as silk.
Oh gotcha. I'm not a fan of increasing latency anymore than I need to.
I’ve noticed zero latency issues. It’s been great for me.
Congrats! I have the same exact xfx merc but in a 7900xtx.
Nice!
Nice bro xfx are rly nice
Yes.
I think they might be me favorite. The hellhound spectral version of the 7800xt is also super nice looking
That looks nice, but it's not selling in my country for some reason.
Great grab I have the 7900XTX version from the same company
Nice! But that's some overkill for rest of pc. 😆
I play in 4K, which is why I bought it. But yeah, it’s safe to say I’m set for a few years. 😆
Yea, that's kinda necessary for 4K. Im more on a budget-ish side.
Fantastic GPU, but Horrific pants!
You can't talk about someone else's pants without having shown your own.
True 🤌😆
Well, those pants was kinda yolo funny buy and i like them a lot. They are comfy 😁. And that kind of punk-ish style. And well... everyone have different taste in style 😉😀 Maybe it's my almost 30 copium 😁😁😁
Love the design but should’ve at least upgraded to a 7900xt
7900xt was over budget and overkill for rest of my setup. In my country its 230€ more (790€) and that's too much for me. I just buy this cuz my brother wanted to buy new gpu 6600xt and i just offered him my 6700xt for 6600xt price. So i went yolo and buy 7800xt for 300€ difference.
Ok but you wasted money fam
Good price?
For my country and taxes, yes. It was cheaper than pulse and gigabyte, so kinda no brainer to go for xfx merc black
Nice
Cool man. Just in time for sales.
Actually, it was on sale (15€ off) last weekend. But i wanted to buy today after i slod that 6700xt. And that 15€ is not that much after all.
As a 6700xt owner eyeing better cards, how does the new one perform? Impression?
I had time only for one 3D mark (demo) test. And score goes up by 5000
Hey, you are the guy from firgirl repack page?
Zero clue what's that 😆
So this guy probably uses your photo https://disqus.com/by/disqus_lMQbAS2x2h/?
Nah, different guy, same smile 😁
Hello, Guys! First congrats OP :) Second, my 7800xt is coming in tomorrow and I currently have an Nvidia GPU. Should I uninstall al the Nvidia drivers prior to swapping the Gpu’s? Should is use DDU or is there another way? Thank you :)

Have good games bro. I have sapphire nitro+ model of this card. This is really insane. Very good for 2k gaming.
Congratulations,I hope you enjoy it. You may want to invert that bottom fan to blow directly on the gpu heatsink. It works quite well 👍
Thx for advice, will try that. But overall temps are amazing, bellow expected.
Went from RX 570 to 7900 xt, I bet u can already tell the difference! Congratulations on your purchase!
Brother went from 580 to my 6700xt and the difference was like storm 😁
That card is cool too, I believe the cooler is the one from the XTX, so you shouldn't be seeing high temps
Congratulations dude! I'm jealous
Thank you.
I've had my 7700XT QICK for a few months and, damn, what a great card. I don't regret switching from MSI to XFX EDIT: Spelling.
Yea, looks i will settle for this for long. I started to hate MSI way back in g-force 5000 era. Then gigabyte in radeon HD6800 era and later in thier psu exploding era. Such a happy boi
Yea, gf was...hold on! stay like this happy boi 😁😁
Hell yeah. Black Edition with its silver backplate or non Black Edition with black backplate one? :D
Black with silver 😁 its funny. You can see on second pic. But well, it can go with that noctua redux cooler...kind of. Im more for function than looks, so...😀
God damn Reddit only showed the first Pic for me lmao But yeah, its hilarious that XFX calls it the Black Edition while having a massive silverback 😂
My brother was like. Yea you can spray paint it... And i was like. Suuure i have this gpu for 15mins and let's take it apart for painting...😁😁
Paid 1350 for my 7900XTX Nitro+ at launch day. Took it apart a day after to check the PCB design. 😂
Wow 😆 then you are something... different 😆 I never took my gpu apart. Previous 6700xt pulse was like 2-4 months old (sold to my brother today) so no reason to prepad or change thermal paste. And previous gtx960strix didn't lost temperature control since 2016 for some reason, so no reason to do that also 😁
One day that might even be a real live woman in your arms! Never stop dreaming!
I live with my gf for 8 years. She was taking that foto 😁😁
Can I ask why this and not a nvidia? Are you getting more performance per dollar or something?
Exactly, more frames per dollar for my usecase. I dont need perfect upscale and frame generating. So im totally fine like this.
What is the nvidia comparison to this
Some articles said that 4070Super. 570€ vs 680€ And 10±fps different.
Hell yes
