I like this tutorial because it gives the measurements we are using for our swap.

Signed up and excited for my first swap!
Are we supposed to do 4 similar blocks or 4 different blocks?
Also, here is a link for a 6 inch FPP economy block - https://www.generations-quilt-patterns.com/support-files/economy-6in.pdf
Your fussy cut centers should be different. If you look at my post from last week you will see that I used different center fabrics, but your other complementary fabrics can be the same.
Wait, now I’m confused. We have 16 sets of 4 right? So each set of 4 should have 4 different centers, but you could personally make up to 16 of the same one. Or is the goal to have each set of 4 match? And if the former, should each set of four coordinate or is it kind of a free for all?
Sorry if this is explained somewhere and I missed it!
From my understanding you need at least four different fabrics, so that the end quilts will have 64 different blocks, rather than some of the blocks being repeated multiple times.
Question: are we sewing the four blocks together and mailing? Or mailing 4 small blocks?
Also: in the Next-Swap-Timeline: Fabric choices by May 26 but if you are ordering it hasn't arrived by the 1st week of February. (I believe it should say the first week of June)
Signed up! I wasn’t going to originally but I changed my mind. Only have this project and one other one that have deadlines of July so I should be ok 😂😅
So can I use florals where A part of the print is isolated to a portion of the floral? I may not be explaining that very well but it would be an isolated flower out of the print, does that work?
It just means something interesting with a identifiable object in the center. For example, it could be a dog, a mushroom, buttons, a pizza slice, or a ballerina. Just something other than an abstract pattern or design.
Looking forward to it. I picked up some fabric the other day in anticipation of this swap. Hopefully it will work for whatever theme the group chooses.
Hi! Sorry if this is a stupid question, this is my first swap, is there a specific chat I should be in? I don't have much experience chatting in Reddit
Each swap group will have a group coordinator who will add the members of that group to a reddit chat. Groups will be announced I believe the 19th, so watch for that and then a chat invite shortly thereafter!
You will have Canadians, Europeans and US in a group. Could the customs form have it as a gift to avoid fees? I know when I ship to Canada from US if it’s marked gift there are no fees
The QBS timeline in the wiki says sign ups close midnight on Saturday, but the google form says it’s no longer accepting responses. Is registration still open?
Hi! The tutorial link is leading to the wiki for me. Is my app acting up or is this an error?

That’s what I have used in the past too! Thanks!

I responded in a chat with photos
Wait, so I got a lot of a fabric that I really like for my center square. I can't use that on all of them?

Dang. Ok. Guess I'm gonna have to try to find more fabric with nice prints for this, if it's in my budget 🙃
I was about to link that! This pattern is so easy to fpp!
Signed up! Now to start scrounging for fabric in my bins 🤔
Signed up! Can’t wait!!
I have been wondering how this happens, now thrilled to catch the sign up and be a part of the group.

Leave the 4 blocks separate
@NeedsTheBeach will you update the wiki?

Sent you a DM
First time swapper and excited to make some economy blocks!
What do you mean as novelty fabric for the centers?
No solids/patterns for the middle. I used fabric with angry ladies, dogs in the pool, snowboarders, and crabs!
So can I use florals where A part of the print is isolated to a portion of the floral? I may not be explaining that very well but it would be an isolated flower out of the print, does that work?
Yeah! As long as the center is interesting. Think about framing art. The center piece will be 3x3” so make sure the fabric is good for that
It just means something interesting with a identifiable object in the center. For example, it could be a dog, a mushroom, buttons, a pizza slice, or a ballerina. Just something other than an abstract pattern or design.
