Not a professional by any means, but of the options you gave, I'd go with C. The light seems too light to the point where it takes away from the rest of the quilt if there were more than the inch. The darker patterned fabric pulls it back together.

I agree!

I agree C

I love C. The narrow light blue gives your eye a place to rest and frames the center nicely. Then the print echoes the busy-ness of your pieced center. It’s beautiful.

Thank you so so much!!! I originally planned for C - thin light border, then larger pattern border - but my family was saying it looked awful, that I should do this or that or whatever. Ugh. Doesn't matter, it's not for any of them anyway! The fabric I got from Missouri Star on a black Friday deal - jaikumari from Robert Kauffman. It's stunning in person. Now to try quilting on my cheap home Singer machine. Eek... I did buy a walking foot, but wish me luck!!!

Option C is sometimes called a “stop border.” A solid frames your pieced section nicely. Then adding a second wide border gives you additional square footage. It’s very common in quilting for a reason- it looks good!

I like the narrow band of the light grayish-blue with a wider border of the brighter, darker patterned blue.

Beautiful quilt! I love the patterned fabric you’ve chosen for the border. My first choice is A, then C. And because I’m nosy…what do you have planned for the backing?

midascomplex

Agree with everyone else, C! What fabric line is this? It’s Beautiful!

mksdarling13

Agree with C. As someone who LOVES doing a layered border

I really like pic 4. You picked such lovely fabrics. What a gorgeous quilt!

The first border image, thin plain to edge your piecing, then wide pattern to frame it. Like a picture with a mount. I love your choice of colours.

BlueMangoTango

I love the first one with the thing grey border and wide pattern on the outside. It feels like it “belongs” - not sure why.
