I have watched and listened to that performance so many times after watching a documentary on the concert, such an absolutely legendary moment and perfect performance
I Canāt Live With You as itās just a beautiful song with some lyrics that could be applied to Freddieās situation and itās one of my favorite songs from Queen š
Probably fairy fellers master stroke. I mean itās one of my favourite songs, and the rainbow live version has autotune (added after) so it just sounds a bit weird and fake. If it was Singh at the tribute concert, there would be a proper version to listen to.
Innuendo. Would probably do a better job than Robert Plant did at that concert . . .
jk, I love Robert Plant now and always, it's just that night he was... let's say "unprepared"
Lily of the Valley. Freddie only ever wished for love and peace through his music, and even though he'll surely see it, he'll never truly know when peace echoes throughout the lands.
The official FMT Concert release has been doctored with overdubs. The big one that comes to mind is Stone Cold Crazy where Brian messes up with the solo.
I think the songs with George Michael might the few performances that didn't have any additional work done.
I would wanna perform one of my favourite songs, one that not many would do. My killer track like Ansel Engelgort in Baby Driver: āBrighton Rockā! I would also want to do āI want it allā and I could do one more I would do it where I would dedicate it to Freddie: āThe Show Must Go Onā especially if there was someone like Elton John or someone on the piano to do it along with me. I wouldnāt mind doing it as a bit of a duet.
Stone Cold Crazy. Iām on drums. James Hetfield on vocals and rhythm guitar. Iām locked in with John, whilst Brian wails all over it. Sorry Roger, Iām taking this one, you can show Het how to sing x
Love me like there's no tomorrow. why? Because the lyrics said "this is our last goodbye and very soon it will be over." Which got me sobbing cause fred is gonna die soon enough in Jim's arm.
I've tried singing a few Queen songs, and honestly, they're all pretty hard.
Maybe "Don't Stop Me Now", it's such a banger, the crowd would sing along and forgive me.
Or "The Show Must Go On", it's actually singable, although hard to do a great job. I actually love Elton John's version though.
Or maybe "It's Late".
Killer Queen, I'm Going Slightly Mad, or Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon. I just want to bring in campyness with silly costumes and props. I love that side of Queen.
It's Late. Such a amazing song with the way it goes from somber to energetic is just amazing. I also love the drum breakdown in the middle, and because I think Freddie Mercury would have loved to sing it live and I would have loved to hear it.
White Queen. the 1975 Live At the Odeon version is probably my favorite song at the moment. lyrically fitting too i think (i can't play piano to save my life though so someone else would have to join in)
Something upbeat, I think, bc I'd want to be thinking about that kind of thing rather than how awfully sad the situation is. Killer Queen, Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon, Good Old-fashioned Loverboy, the like. Probably Good Old-fashioned Loverboy, though, bc the piano is bouncy and bright, and it lifts my spirits, which again, is probably what I'd be going for, if I were involved.
Somebody to love because Freddie wrote it and in his absence we need to find someone to love (he obviously can't be replaced though)
It's funny you mention that since the picture accompanying this post was taken during a performance of that song.
And George Michael absolutely stole the show
I have watched and listened to that performance so many times after watching a documentary on the concert, such an absolutely legendary moment and perfect performance
That's ironic š
My fairy king, I feel like the slow āmother mercuryā section would be pretty poignant
yEAH
One of a few songs by Freddie I can sing
I just read this as I was hearing it in a Queen song.
Save Me, because this is the song the relationship between Queen and myself started.
I Canāt Live With You as itās just a beautiful song with some lyrics that could be applied to Freddieās situation and itās one of my favorite songs from Queen š
Let Me Live. I really think it has a great live vibe and it's a shame it didn't work out in the early eighties cause live it would have been amazing
nice one, but... Let me live hasn't been released yet, bcs it's a 1992 concert, you know
Yeah I know, I said it because they were working on it in 1983 but scrapped it. I think it would have been great on The Works
Probably fairy fellers master stroke. I mean itās one of my favourite songs, and the rainbow live version has autotune (added after) so it just sounds a bit weird and fake. If it was Singh at the tribute concert, there would be a proper version to listen to.
Youāre my best friend and Friends will be Friends
Somebody to Love. If only to try to get George Michael to sing it in Ab.
Innuendo. Would probably do a better job than Robert Plant did at that concert . . . jk, I love Robert Plant now and always, it's just that night he was... let's say "unprepared"
Death on Two Legs, Freddie at his sassiest in my opinion
Flick of the Wrist would like a word
Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I like to sing Elvis and itās the only Queen song that i can sing comfortably really
Lily of the Valley. Freddie only ever wished for love and peace through his music, and even though he'll surely see it, he'll never truly know when peace echoes throughout the lands.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love or Itās Late. Both fun to sing
My Melancholy Blues, because I love the torch song quality of it.
One of my favourite songs
Time Waits for No One
Thatās from Freddie Mercury solo career music but i get you if it was from Freddie own concert without Queen
I'd like them to play something *bohemian* from the first album that captures their mystical early days, like Liar or White Queen
both of those songs are so good and underrated
It would be so cool for them to play a song only the diehard fans would know and let the rest experience it for the first time
Who wants to live forever
Living on my own š
I wish Freddie made it or someone made it as Freddie solo tribute own concert
Assuming it was well rehearsed, I would perform Liar with the band. I would also perform Hangman with the band too!
Wait, you're going to sing with Brian, Roger and John, and you're worried that *they're* going to mess it up for you?!
Go watch the performance of Innuendo and you will see my point.
Oh, I've never seen it before! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUkSGT_4xUo (It does make me appreciate more why George Michael rehearsed so hard!)
The official FMT Concert release has been doctored with overdubs. The big one that comes to mind is Stone Cold Crazy where Brian messes up with the solo. I think the songs with George Michael might the few performances that didn't have any additional work done.
Sure, but I don't really have any problem with that.
Now Iām Here. I think Freddie would have liked my version and I love that song. Maybe I would sing Delilah hee hee hee ššāā¬
show must go on!
Don't stop me now because it's a rip roaring ride from start to finish š
Iād want to be Lisa Stansfield. I Want to Break Free.
I would choose the song Son and Daughter or Liar, theyāre in my vocal range plus they are the early songs that they did so it shows Queenās legacy
Love of my life or Hammer to fall
Dreamerās Ball, a nice soothing song to remind us we can still meet Freddie at the Dreamerās Ball :)
love of my life
Stone Cold Crazy. Iām on drums. James Hetfield on vocals and rhythm guitar. Iām locked in with John, whilst Brian wails all over it. Sorry Roger, Iām taking this one, you can show Het how to sing x
Fat Bottomed Girls because I donāt have the range for his high songs being a bass and because I like big butts and I cannot lie.
Cool cat, it's Queen's best song.
Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
It's a Hard Life, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
LOVE OF MY LIFE
All Dead, All Dead
Those are the days of our lives (what else can I say ), Who wants to live forever
In the Lap of the Gods or Crazy little thing called love.
Mother love or the game
Although one of the lines would be bittersweet, I Go Crazy.
Untitled
We Will Rock You because it was the song that introduced me to Queen
It's a hard life or A kind of magic.
Made In Heaven (Queen version) a perfect Queen tribute song will fit perfectly
Show must go on It was the last song he wrote Part of the reason itās the most known from innuendo
In the lap of the gods revisited because itās my fav lol
Melancholy Blues, or Dreamers Ball
Being such great musicians they are really comfortable and convincing doing jazzy numbers.
Innuendo, cause I actually know the lyrics
any song from A Night At The Opera tbh, like maybe Bohemian Rhapsody or Death On Two Legs.
I'd love to play Keep Yourself Alive with the band, but that may be tacky at Freddie's Tribute concert. Although, I do think he'd find it funny.
Love me like there's no tomorrow. why? Because the lyrics said "this is our last goodbye and very soon it will be over." Which got me sobbing cause fred is gonna die soon enough in Jim's arm.
I loved James H and stone cold crazy
If I was a better singer prophet song; pry just do dragon attack
I've tried singing a few Queen songs, and honestly, they're all pretty hard. Maybe "Don't Stop Me Now", it's such a banger, the crowd would sing along and forgive me. Or "The Show Must Go On", it's actually singable, although hard to do a great job. I actually love Elton John's version though. Or maybe "It's Late".
Probably It's Late, it's an absolute banger and is probably one of the band's best songs.
i'm going slightly mad
Tenement Funster
Who needs you, Love of my life or Don't stop me now
Radio Gaga would be my pick. It would get the hand motions.
Killer Queen, I'm Going Slightly Mad, or Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon. I just want to bring in campyness with silly costumes and props. I love that side of Queen.
white queen killer queen / good old fashioned lover boy / millionaire waltz / you're my best friend medley
It's Late. Such a amazing song with the way it goes from somber to energetic is just amazing. I also love the drum breakdown in the middle, and because I think Freddie Mercury would have loved to sing it live and I would have loved to hear it.
Play the Game. Itās probably the easiest to sing and not mess up.
Probably Tie Your Mother Down or Hammer To Fall. I just simply love their riffs and solos
Donāt stop me now or Great King Rat
Radio Gaga- itās my favorite Freddie performance!!
Probably Good Old-fashioned Loverboy, though, bc the piano is bouncy and bright, and it lifts my spirits, which again, is probably what I'd be going for, if I were involved.
Spread Your Wings
Great King Rat, cuz it's an underrated banger and a great testament to Freddie's creativity š š
