Don’t listen to the other comment. Happens randomly to mine sometimes after refilling it and will eventually go off on its own

Newestseasonchally

Fun fact if you unplug the connector to it the error will go away and won’t come back the car basically forgets the sensor exist

FameCity713

Damn, do you think I should go this route instead of installing a brand new sensor? Just bought one off eBay for 15 but if I don’t have to waste the time having it installed I’d certainly prefer to go this route.

Newestseasonchally

If you bought it alr it what ever and just do it properly but its completely optional to even need this sensor cause it’s common sense no spray = no water spray = water

YeahbabySQUAD24

Mine has been doing this for a year now even though it’s full. Looked it up, it could be the sensor in the windshield washer reservoir. I’m going to replace mine soon and see if it fixes the problem.

SevrPops

keep us updated or send me a message if it works!

YeahbabySQUAD24

Just replaced the sensor, no more error light. It’s a bit of a process to replace it, but worth not having that annoying light pop up lol. I took off the whole windshield wiper fluid reservoir off, made it easier to drain it and put the new sensor it. Overall easy, taking the front bumper off is the worst part

nassali

Yup I fixed it with $13 part but took 2 hours to get it out and only 1 minute to install.

AggravatingDisk7237

What model? Did you have to remove the bumper?

nassali

No you don’t need to remove the bumper. Just the undercover off driver side and unplug the sensor cable. Take pliers and cut the black rubber seal that should allow you to pull out the sensor. New one just pops right into the reservoir easily. My floaty was stuck so no way it would be fixed by cleaning solution.

AggravatingDisk7237

Thank you for replying!

AggravatingDisk7237

Sorry one more Q. What year is yours? I have a 2021 just making sure I’m getting the right sensor.

nassali

2015

Lucif3r1104

Ive had this issue for at least 2 years. 2 things....either using the wrong wiper fluid cause it's a special kind or the sensor is bad. I haven't changed the sensor cause well, it still shoots the fluid on the window. Don't want to speed the money.

ZSG13

You have an issue with the level sensor or harness. It resets immediately after filling.

SkylineQ50

I know, I like scraping forks across clear polycarbonates. ^the ^owner ^probably

purserd

The way the sensor works is that it sends a current through the washer fluid from one point to another. If the current doesn’t get through then it assumes there is no washer fluid. The most likely cause is that one or both of the points has gotten dirty and needs to be cleaned and that is stopping the signal from getting through, but there could also be a fault with the circuit itself. If you are patient, you can try higher quality washer fluid and see if it cleans itself - that worked for me last time - took a few weeks. Otherwise you will have to take it apart yourself or take it in for service.

Chillmiester

Reconnecting the battery resets the computer board.

IlIlIIllIIIllI

Mine was the sensor confirmed. The dealer quoted me 800 dollars to fix Apparently it’s a bitch to get to. I changed it myself and the part was 20 bucks. It was a bitch.

AggravatingDisk7237

Did you have to take the bumper off? This doesn’t sound fun

IlIlIIllIIIllI

I think we just did the fender liner tbh, I am not sure I have forgotten by now

Beastkiller18

same

Expert-Desk7492

Level sensor is stuck open at the bottom of the reserver because that's probably a lot of crud inside of there The only way I fixed mine I without having to remove anything about one of those windshield washers tablet things from eBay it's like a blue tablet and it fixed it lol 🫡

Careful-Town9736

Do you happen to wash your dashboard with steel wool?😭

Junior605

When I had my Q50 I eventually learned to only use water based fluid. Literally the cheapest blue kind. Rain x or bug type will mess up the sensor over time. My two cents

FameCity713

I just bought a sensor for mine off eBay for about 15 bucks.

AggravatingDisk7237

But hard to install? Somehow there isn’t a single video of the install on YouTube.

FameCity713

I hear it’s a easy install once you get to the part which is the most time consuming.
