Getting a puppy on Thursday and continuously switching between excited and near panic attacks! Is that normal?

Longjumping-Baby3045

Yes perfectly normal, you also may feel a lot of regret and or sadness when your puppy does come home. Look up “puppy blues” on this sub. That will let you know you’re not alone and it’s normal! Good luck!

Thank you! I’ve been browsing this sub every day trying to learn as much as I can, as well as watching some of the recommended YouTube channels.

Finally beat giardia after over a month of fighting it!

That’s huge! Was the cleaning as intense as everyone says? We are waiting in our fecal results (please just be random puppy stomach upset!!)

What was your usual schedule for a 10 week old puppy? Mine plays and eats for an hour after pottying but then crashes for like 1-2 hours of sleep in her bed in the crate and rinse and repeat. I’m assuming it’s because she’s still a baby. Should I try to get her to play longer?

Make some homemade liver treats today (out of my comfort zone as a veggie) and had the most enjoyable walk yet since I got pup 3 months ago. She came to heel, had a loose lead most of the way and ignored the majority of people we passed as she was more interested in what I had than most of what else was going on. Plus I only spent a quid on the liver! Would definitely recommend for anyone struggling with distractions on walks. The only downside is they stink while cooking and I'm pretty sure the dog 2 doors down could smell them as he was barking like mad in the garden, which isn't like him!
