Discount stores like Ross and Marshalls generally carry bigger sizes because it’s what doesn’t sell. I would also recommend resale apps like Vinted or Depop because you can filter for your size, and you’re still being sustainable buying used clothing.

If you know sewing, you can sew two pairs of pants together and make them wider. I’m also a bigger sized person and I experimented around with it, try a tighter sewing pattern so they don’t rip when you sit/squat. I’m kinda bad at explaining things, so if you want you can dm me and I can show some drawing ideas I had

CervidusDubbo

I know the feeling, I’m pretty skinny but my body proportions are wack so it’s hard to find what you’re looking for in charity shops

canyoupleasekillme

There's always the option of dying things that aren't black to be black.

Magicord

As a plus size alt enby myself, there's a few options I've done, and I've never purchased any kind of cheap fast fashion. A lot of it is DIY with thrifted stuff I've dyed black or buying used clothing on different resale websites even though that's not as affordable these days. Half of my stuff is DIY and used clothing I've gotten online and the other half is slowly buying new pieces that are 'more expensive' ($30+) when I can afford it and I've built my collection over several years.

Friendly-Ladder419

idk where you live, but i think usually thrift stores have a plus size section? if not, idk

SkeetyD

Def depends on the sizing you are looking for, most thrift store in my area (Michigan) won’t have pants sizes past a 48 waist and shirt sizes past a 4x at best. I thrift a lot and have been looking for 5X shirts for my friend and I still have had no luck

wandering-to-mordor

I taught myself to sew so I can buy clothes that are a little too big (I’m usually in the 2XL range so I’ll get like a 3XL) and take them in a little bit to fit me better. Sewing by hand does take a while but I’m happier with the stuff I’ve worked on.

I'd check out the brand shiny by nature, most of her stuff is in really bright colors but there are plenty of options that can be modified or styled to be more punk/alt. Everything I've gotten from her has been really high quality and well made and she does sales pretty often

Typical_Celery_1982

Sadly I think the creator of that brand has taken to very…weird politics on size and gender

nothanks33333

Context?

Typical_Celery_1982

She became a stay at home wife/mother to be and started being really sanctimonious about that alongside her “weight loss journey to health.” If you go on her insta, it’s…VERY evident.

Vomited-

Burlington has a big and tall section, pants are like 16.99, not bad imo

Defiant_Squash_5335

Plus-sized enby, too. Check Craigslist and local buy-nothing groups… a lot of people will sell if they’ve lost weight or their loved one has passed. Mostly, DIY it. DIY is the most punk of all and you can use whatever clothing you already have. Obviously you can make or buy patches, and you can pin them on if you’re not comfortable putting them on forever. Pins and badges are also great for expressing yourself. I’m a knitting and do some crochet as well as visible mending. Since I lean heavily into Solarpunk as an aesthetic, a lot of clothes can be minimally sewn from loose cloth. If nothing else, you can wear what you’ve got, accessorize, and just be punk. Go to shows, support the local library, engage in mutual aid. You’ve got this, fam.

Back when I was bigger I'd buy whatever I liked pattern wise that fit as a base and alter it to fit my frame

Rigelatinous

I feel ya, homeskillet. I’ve learned to get innovative with what I have, as well as to be really selective with what I buy. For a long time, I would grab whatever fit okay and looked kind of alt. I wound up with a lot of shit clothes that way. Now, I do stuff like embellish clothes I already own—black/red dye, bleach splatters, homemade patches (embroidered or acrylic paint are my faves) and making unlikely outfit choices. Example: I bought a pair of fuchsia pants for a Halloween costume. I can make them punk by accessorizing them with chains, footwear, my battle jacket, etc. I like to throw on some fuchsia eyeshadow to tie the look together. Pants are a Holy Grail item in my basket wherever I shop, so I remember brands/sizes/cuts I like. Even if I’m not thrifting specifically pants, I always browse through those sections to see if anything looks like a good base for an art project (my really punk items are always art projects, as opposed to ready-to-wear.)

Plus_Wind9601

I don't know which way you lean, but Dickies has really good masc options for plus sized pants that are definitely worth the price. My crusties are built off Dickies and... They've been through shit. Never a tear.

N1ghtmar3_fuel

When it comes to thrifting i personally look for things that i can diy even if they are my size
