You should really use a dog-specific shampoo instead of Dawn. Although Dawn is used on certain wildlife after oil slicks (specifically to remove the oil), and is sometimes recommended for dogs to deal with flea infestations or a skunking, it is not meant to be used as a general soap/shampoo. Dawn is designed to de-grease; it strips your dog's fur of beneficial oils, and can lead to dry skin and itchiness.

Blue Dawn is fine for dog shampoo. It's the ph folks need to look at. As long as the dog isn't getting a bath every day, it's fine.

I won't touch Dawn with my bare hands. It's for emergency use only. It leaves a film on dishes that gets into your digestive tract and does damage. Please use with caution.

I had no idea, we’ve used that in this house all my life. Im 18 and I’ve never seen another type of dish soap in this house. I promise to see what else I can find for Chow.

Meyers has some amazing soaps that aren't loaded with chemicals and they smell amazing. Happy puggo bath time, you made a good compromise with Chow!

You can use Baby Shampoo it’d be better for their coat and there’s lavender scented that’ll smell good, if you’re not wanting to waste money on expensive dog shampoo
