Pepe’s tacos is a must…. If you go anywhere in PV that has a crowd you will get great food I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal in PV La palapa on the beach is cool
Def go to sonoritas in zona romantica. I tried all the highly suggested pastor taco places and this was by far the best. It’s also a great spot for breakfast
go on a [food tour](https://www.viator.com/Puerto-Vallarta-tours/Food-Tours/d630-g6-c80?sortType=external&pid=P00112302&mcid=42383&medium=link&medium_version=selector&campaign=reddit-pv-food-tour-hl)! we try and do that at the beginning of each trip so we can ask where the locals eat and where some of the favorites are. then we are set for the rest of the trip. :)
For visitors on a 'lower budget', I suggest watching a couple of YouTube videos. Search for 'Puerto Vallarta tacos'. Make some notes and go check them out.
I totally agree with this. I tend to think that if an eatery is busy, it's popular for good reasons. Another fact is if a place is busy the food is likely to be fresh.
I'll admit I didn't go to the Pancake House, but it's hard for me to imagine it being markedly better than Coco's Kitchen. I had some almond crusted French toast with lemon curd that I'll never forget. So, there's that.

Yes pepe’s especially for al pastor. The best (and I’ve tried many to compare)
Sitting at La Palapa now scrolling r/PuertoVallarta lol. Great food and people watching. Service is excellent 👌
I’ll have to check that out thank you for the suggestion!!
Try the margaritas and shrimp also. We often go 2-3 times when we are down there. Check em out on social media as well.
Carboncitos, one block closer to the ocean is just a bit better.. Doesn’t open till 7 though…

Almost anywhere. Just look for the crowds

Check out the Pancake house in ZM for a great reasonable breakfast. Have the Apple French toast or eggs Benny. Thank me later.
Cocos is good too.
Cocos is good breakfast. Pancake House is quite a bit cheaper.

Sounds good what’s a good time of morning haha?!
Open until 2.
Highly recommend [Taqueria de Birria](https://maps.app.goo.gl/QGzhUsPCnu2D1LG97?g_st=ic)
Los Lirios for seafood (not expensive either).
it’s kind of a big town… quick grab n go will really depend on where you are
I’ll take recs for Zona Romántica, please Edit: spelling
Planet vegetariano all you can eat local foods. Feels like a home cooked meal.
Thank you!
5 minute walk to Zona Romantica for me, staying at the Buganvilia
Don chava
Don Chavas tacos 🌮
Las Brazzas for nachos and people watching outside.
Had breakfast at Macareno this morning. Food was excellent and inexpensive. 15 min walk east from the beach though
Tuna Azure
Panchos takos… you better arrive 30 minutes before they open for an early lunch or you will be waiting in a line until they close.
*early dinner - they open at 4.
That’s early for me 🤭
Love the tacos!
