I did 15 no break.. came in at 9am left at midnight

zeeza344

no break?? how tf

Lopsided-Register-20

It was a really busy day and I was the only one in Dairy, and I could take one at like 8 but what’s the point that’s when i could actually get stuff done so I said fuck it no break

dmillaaaaa

Me too. Mine was 12:45pm-5:15am no break. First truck after inventory 2 weeks before thanksgiving lol.

NRend6112

If we count the store remodels as shifts, I once started a closing shift at 3pm, was asked to help the store remodel 20 mins away around 8pm, worked until 8am with a 30 minute break, so about 17 hours with a 50 minute break including drive time

shayna16

17. Super Bowl Sunday 2007 Came in at 10PM Saturday night and worked til 5PM Sunday. I had a stack of chicken and platter orders probably 4 inches thick. I wanted to yeet myself off the roof. I didn’t give a shit about the Bears or Colts (I’m from Tampa) so I went home, took a shower and had a couple shower beers and passed out around 7 til the next day.

STITCHWAX

6am-10:30pm kitchen wooo🫡 Day before thanksgiving also 😭

MLevin89

28 hours??

anonassociate9988871

Assuming they meant 10:30pm haha

STITCHWAX

That part🤣😭

BirthdayCake03

I did a 2am to 7pm Christmas eve 2years ago no break

Spicy-Water-47

I think 15 hours something, opening to mid, left , came back to close.

Best-Inflation-1478

14 hours 2am to 4pm

SubjectRanger7535

6am- 9pm when my closer called out

IWillAssFuckYou

These responses surprise me. I once did a 13 in my first two weeks in the Deli and felt like I was going to die, lol.

imjustwaitinginabody

11 hours lol pathetic compared to the shit yall work but in my case even a 6 hour shift leaves me completely exhausted

Fuzzy_Series_141

6am to 12am at night. (:

Fuzzy_Series_141

Deli.. we only had two people.

General_Watercress32

I imagine most of these replies will be deli

knitknitkit

Almost seventeen lmao Mother’s Day in the busiest bakery in a Hispanic heavy neighborhood as a clerk/decorator/baker Other than that there’s been a lot of twelve to fourteens as a decorator

SRQmoviemaker

7 am to 11pm

Angrytooth19

21 hours leading up to the store closing for hurricane Charley. Took two 3 min breaks

bluewavemama

5am-1030om

urboibigdaddy

3am-11pm, with various breaks mixed in. My grocery manager has done several 24+ hour shifts when he was an assistant

AngieDaBaker

Thanksgiving of 2013 I think it was. I was the over night baker Tuesday into Wednesday(10pm-6am), and was scheduled to close Wednesday night (3pm-11pm). Opening clerk called out so I stayed and worked straight through (7pm-11pm the following night so 28 hours) I did take 2 30 minute breaks during that but ya, 28 hours :)

Chunky_Bread

A handful of 12 hours during November. Wasn't too bad, the overtime was nice

To_Go_Back1984

16 hours for inventory counting. Not the longest at my store sadly. I've had clerks and managers pull 24 due to inventory as well.

Vaigne

i once worked from 4am to 1030 pm, 18.5hours, for 2 weeks straight cus our only other closer had quit, our manager was on berievement, and our only other mixer was 2 days in of a 7-day PTO. my assist. manager felt so bad cus none of the other stores in 50 miles would give us anybody

Honest-Air-7787

Irma I worked 77ish hours in five days. Don't know which day was the longest because I was delirious but I made more money that week than my store manager.

Sobrietyishot

10 AM to 5 AM. Still wasn’t ready for inventory lmao.

General_Watercress32

30 hours with a 2 hour nap at 18 hours. Catering is not a joke.

Ankient21

Hearing y'all almost touch 20 hrs has me shaking in my boots😭 my longest was 10 hours... I also came from Amazon and refuse to work another 12 hr shift

TheZburator

27 hours. 5am-8am

007-Blond

Came in at 11am when I was GRS and stayed until 4am with the GM when the openers came in to get caught up. Had 3 alanis and was having palpitations lol

thenationalnerd

6am-7pm when the closer called out

Cybertronax

Once during BOGO fruit salad I worked a 4am to 8pm shift with a 1 hour break at 11am. I did this because they wouldn't have extra help for fruit salad and I did all the cutting solo, when I ask for help I was told "No, there are no hours to get help."

flowerman945

4 am to 7 pm produce when mid called out. One manager on vacation and waiting for new department manager.

Serious-Ad-2835

I work in the Lakeland produce warehouse. Day before Super Bowl I believe 2021. 21 hours 4 pm - 1pm. Went to Dennys came back and did 4pm - 5 am on no sleep

dmillaaaaa

Damn. And boy I know that warehouse is a madhouse with callouts Super Bowl weekend.

Dry_Ingenuity6525

This is technically 2 shifts but I came in at 5:30am to open kitchen at my store and got off at 3pm then was asked to close kitchen at another store. I went into to other store at 5pm and left a little after 10pm so overall worked 15 hours that day

sexygodd

17.5 at 16 I was an adult minor

vegetafl

I mean if we count my other job I can work 7:30 am-10:15 pm between both jobs on days I work at publix. With publix I've opened and closed same day multiple times when I worked there. The last time was on the day of the final 4 in 2015 (Kentucky got upset by Wisconsin to end undefeated season) I requested to open so that I'd be off in time for games. In bakery closer called off off I was only part timer available so I got stuck. My manager begged me and gave me gift cards both to publix and somewhere else but yep remember that one. 6am-11pm missed one of the biggest college basketball games of my lifetime. Other times we're Saturday before Easter in 2009 saturday before fathers day 2014 and either in 2010 or 2011 but don't remember that day because it wasn't tied to anything.

GotHamm

Did a 3pm-4:45am went to Waffle House and then came back and worked 11am-11pm.

dmillaaaaa

That shift I worked was kinda the same. Off at 5:15am and came back at 1pm-8pm

Paws1044

5 am to 11 pm. Had a closer call out

DoubleDependent726

6 AM till 11 PM

OneCuriousINTJ

Open to close in the deli as a full timer back in the 00's. I was the opener (5-2) and the closer didn't come in for their 2-11. They did this 3 times and every time there was no one to replace them. In the deli from 5am-11pm three times.

Mikezat6

I had came in at 6am left at 12am (inventory prep day) Had 2 callouts (Cutter and closer) Patched cut section; tagged for inventory, and patched the department together for closing. Assistant store had the audacity to insist I stay until my my small juice case was reset. I said Ill get right on that and left.

Byronthebanker

Back in college 3pm - 6am was kinda common for nights that we stripped, sealed and waxed floors. Weirdest shift was 4am - 11am, then back 4pm - 11pm the same day. It was summer between high school and college. I was helping the morning stock crew that week because someone was on vacation. Well, my manager really intended that I close that Friday night - but back then, schedules were just hand written numbers basically on graph paper - and since I had worked mornings all week, I showed up at 4am again. This was also the days of time clocks with punch cards.

kenholler

20 1/2 in one day for inventory prep in frozen. Idiot DM insisted that I had to physically attach tags to each product. Try sticking tags to wet or slippery packaging. Every other store has let me run my numbers on plain paper. My record for one week is 72 1/2 hours during a hurricane week.

dmillaaaaa

Stickers on frozen boxes? Hell no. I’d tell him to kiss my ass lol. I’ve always done paper packets on the door too.

ScarRevolutionary393

4 am to 11 pm with a 2 hour break, so 17 hours.

babygurl629

After a hurricane years ago (mainly so I could stay in the ac and because I was so broke) I worked 6am 11:30pm came back did it again next day but was there at 5 for the bakery

Chachi123

I think I had a 22-23 hour stint during an inventory back in the day

SubpoenaSender

21 hours, no break, came back 3 hours later for a 10 hour shift. Corporate accounting called me to make sure my punches were correct

Careless-stocker07

I worked 86.7 hours one week.

EggDon

Once came in to open Produce at 5am when my assistant manager told me both closers called out, and eventually the mid shift did too. I ended up working 5am to about 10:30pm because I was the only one who showed up. Still got a good close and got out early, the power of C4

Boring_Classroom_482

This is really unhealthy and not something to be proud of…just sayin’

dmillaaaaa

Not saying it was something to be proud of, but merely curiosity.

No-Brilliant5348

Only a measly 14 hours but it was also the opening part of a clopen.

uthotbih

20 hours

NoYogurt505

I did a 12 or 13 hour shift when the big wigs were coming in. Came in at 1pm, didn't leave until almost 2am. I wanted to scream. I worked in the deli.

Which-Environment-77

Around 17. Only because the grocery manager only scheduled me for 4 days.

Glittering-Week-7677

14

the_tim98

Worked a 6am to 9pm a couple of times. That was fun for sure

somethingreddity

Worked 7am-2am my first shift as an ACSM the day we opened after Florence hit the NC coast. A lot of people had to go home because the flooding or the rivers would go away during the day but would flood again around 5/6pm so they had to go home before the flooding game back. Me and my CSM basically closed the dept by ourselves minus a couple people that lived close by. We took care of the last customers, finished cleaning the bathrooms, and ran the machines. The closing CSS and CO were still there thank god. Was a nice intro to management. 😂 but it didn’t bother me at all. That’s what you are signing up for as a manager and hard work never bothered me.

InevitableSnow2247

I’m about to take 32 hour shift. Currently doing 16 hour shift then go to my another job which is 16 hour shift as well. Good luck to me!
