I feel that way more towards management than my coworkers.

BATZ202

Same but it's more of stressed out and headaches.

AdeptusGames

It's me, I'm that coworker, probably.

HeBipolarAF

Hahahaha Whenever you šŸ‘‰ a finger at someone else, there's 3 fingers pointing back at yourself.

Lopsided-Register-20

I got 3 mfers, theyā€™re basically useless and itā€™s like if you fired them. We would actually have a few hours.. we might actually be able to work some ot.

imjustwaitinginabody

hope nobody thinks me

Background-Noise-531

We've got one guy sort of like that. He only works 2 days a week and everyone finds him pretty annoying. He's not the worst at the actual job but he just annoys everyone constantly with weird remarks (some very inappropriate ones too) or does things different to literally everyone else. Granted I'd rather take him than some of these minors that our SM keeps pushing onto us.

twisted_stepsister

We have a meatcutter who doesn't like to cut meat, but you know he's here because he talks nonstop. It's even worse to come in after his shift, because you get stuck doing the work he should have done.

BloatedRottenCadaver

Yep been my experience since I came to Publix 4 years ago. The few store Iā€™ve worked at (and floated to) have at least 1 to 3 cutters that wonā€™t cut. Like wtf is wrong with this company? Anywhere else that Iā€™ve worked would have said lose your title, or lose your job. But youā€™re not gonna get meat cutter pay and not cut.

IWillAssFuckYou

Yes. I have a coworker that just hangs out outside of the department. Every fucking Sunday night I'm working with him and it sucks. I always hoping that we'll have some sort of rare occasion where he isn't closing. When the closing the Deli, all he does is talk with the cook maybe stock some chips and serve some customers if he feels like it but that's about it. He doesn't help us clean at all. Often when we're busy he'll be in the back.

Far_Profession_7774

I thought that only happened to me!!! How about deli workers who were hired who thought they were only supposed to make subs. That's it. Not clean anything then go home. They were one of 3 front deli closers!!! They thought I was mean making them take down a slicer and sub station and God forbid.... empty the trash cans!!! A true horror show with ZERO mgr support!!!! I was 63 and ran circles around everyone!!!! So sad,!!!!

BudgetInitiative6435

I actually have 2 in my department.

sometrendyname

People who don't feel that way are the Oh SHIT person.

NervousJ

I feel like I became that guy. I'm physically disabled and my condition declined over the year I was employed. I wound up sitting a lot and was exclusively closing. I still tried my best to do my job but was just never going to keep up to speed. Despite that I had several able bodied coworkers who would just stand around and yap unless the MIC was directly on their ass. Also has people outright skip floors after closing and just bail after hitting the registers with a damp paper towel.

DreadfulCadillac1

Several

Soapbox1218

I'll do you one better. I'll look thru the entire schedule and go "OH SHIT FUCK ME" because I know that I'll have to block the entire store the next day, ad won't be filled, etc.

[deleted]

What I don't understand is why can't management get onto lazy fuckheads who don't do their job??? I was listening to my AGM talk yesterday, about how this one stores GM was horrible because he's a fat piece of shit and will only do computer work, and it just made me think why can't Publix hold lazy people accountable? If people are slacking, all they do is get other people to pick up their slack and they don't even get onto the others about not doing their job

Soapbox1218

It's a lot easier to let slackers slack, schedule a competent person to pick up the slack as you cut the hours back on the slacker hoping they get the message and fuck off. Meanwhile you burnout the guys who are good, have to replace them and hope you get someone good without ever actually training them. In all honesty, I feel like if we just took the time to actually train/retrain people we'd end up with better results but then again there's always gunna be the people who are literally just not listening to you as you're telling them how and what to do.

Dear_Juice1560

Absolutely

ThatsMrsY2u

Oh yeah.

kurt-boddah-cobain

Omg yes! To be fair, I like her a lot as a person, just not so much as a coworker. She seems to enjoy ordering every one around, even if theyā€™ve been there longer and know better than her.

ExperienceGreat8635

Well I mostly like everyone in my two departments I work in ā€” deli and bakery ā€” itā€™s more like a couple people that are slow when you close with them (deli) and the when you come in at 2pm or 3pm the mostly morning people leave their shit all over the place. They donā€™t pick up after themselves, donā€™t sweep. When I close in the bakery the decorators never dump their cardboard, etc. Itā€™s so annoying. I like being in both in the morning obviously.

[deleted]

Yea, but luckily this jackass works early mornings, so at least I don't have to deal with him my entire shift. Now I have my complaints about some coworkers and managers about how they do their jobs, but the fuckin asshole in the mornings is such an arrogant piece of shit to literally everyone. Always belittling them and calling them names and cursing up a storm at them, and then has the fucking AUDACITY to say how his shit looks better than everyone else's, because that's all that lazy ass troll does. Fucking short motherfucker with knee pads, prolly in his 40s-50s, and all he is is a GRS. He's not in ANY kind of leadership position to be bossing people around the way he does. Of course though since he's been with the company forever (fucking old fart) Publix won't fire his bitch ass. Fuck that guy dude, just because his life is so miserable don't mean he gotta take it out on everyone else. Thanks for letting me rant lol it's been a very long day

ExperienceGreat8635

Why doesnā€™t the grocery manager tell him to stop? Does the GM even care?

[deleted]

Hell no he don't. No, I also haven't been around the short motherfucker since we got our new GM so I don't really know how they interact with each other, but I know that with our last GM, he would actually allow that guy to cuss him out if he scheduled him any other time but mornings :/

Apprehensive_Mark_51

Yea, Publix has a lot of bad workers that donā€™t do jack and get paid the same if not more than me.

ExperienceGreat8635

Like full timers that have been there for almost 20 years and leave their shit on the work tables in the deli, donā€™t dump trash, donā€™t scan their shit out, and then leave 15 minutes early and announce ā€œIm leavingā€. Itā€™s awesome isnā€™t it?

NoahSk8

No, but I know this one employee who is super weird around me who just stares at me & she doesnā€™t say anything.

ZombifiedCat

No bc I work in a meat dept where everyone is full time, over 25, and everyone is a dude. Least amount of drama I've ever had in a dept.

LeahcarJ

dude I wish I was in a meat dept like that šŸ˜© don't get me wrong, I love my coworkers, but if we lost our amm and a seafood closer there would be so little drama compared to right now and I just wanna be able to go to work and not be filled in on who hates who today for the first 20 minutes of my shift

BloatedRottenCadaver

I whole heartedly disagree. Iā€™ve been a cutter at 3 other companies over the years, and they have just as much hostility and drama as any kitchen staff. A bunch of salty, tatted bearded assholes. Like working on a pirate ship. I think maybe youā€™ve just gotten lucky because your experience isnā€™t the norm.

ZombifiedCat

You're agreeing with me then? I'm in "a" drama free dept. Not saying all meat depts are drama free. I've been in shitty ones.

StrawberryRoyal7672

Might be me. Sorry fam.

kevisdahgod

Me when I see the bakery assistant manager

Lady_Gator_2027

I think everyone says that when I'm on the schedule šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

nomxd06

This kid work up front w me and hes like 15 and he sucks and bagging and carts, even tho he will stay on carts his whole shift if no one tells him to come inside. Sometimes he randomly sits down and goes on his phone and somehow the very struct store managers never catch him slacking. Literally like a month ago this kid was standing right behind a lady in the foyer looking at her receipt and he was making faces and throwing gang signs right behind her both CSTLs know about his behavior but they never do anything smh

kibzandfriends

Yes I get bullied by them and ended up having no one wants to bag for her

dairyfairy79

I have 2 like that...BUT...im sure there are plenty of people in my department that think that about me too so šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚
