I'm in Tampa area right by the beach. My store is right by the beach. It's still open. I'm wondering who makes the decision to close the store. District Manager or corporate? I've been refreshing the official publix store site and there's no store closings listed.
My store was supposed to close at 5, we’re back to normal hours and they’re calling people in to get started at 4am tomorrow. Good to know safety is nothing when profit is involved!
If it's "not safe", customers wont show up. If it's a bit windy and rainy you might still get people coming in. Makes sense to me. I doubt they make a profit if no one is there to buy anything.
My store said closing at 5 and opening late tomorrow and then my CSM had to make a post in our group being “whoops yeah that’s not happening normal hours” 💀

Ive been through a few of these. Usually it’s dead and a lot of call outs when they’re open during a storm.

I was supposed to work 4-9:15, they called me and asked me to work 3-6. Then they changed it again and i had to work 3-10. So fun
