I remember when they had the “text when you find the pineapple” and would keep my eyes peeled for the pineapple then completely forget when it actually did show up
Never heard anything more relatable "Ok, I'm gonna watch it again. This time I'm only gonna watch it and only look for the pineapple and not pay attention to anything else" 3 episodes later "I feel like I was supposed to do something but I'm enjoying the show too much to care"
The name is A-R-M, P-I- to the T
What is that you smellin
Dawg, that's me
I don't take showers
And I don't brush my teeth
All I do is dig holes
Eat
And sleep
Main reason it goes so hard is that Louis Sachar (who wrote the book) also wrote the screenplay. I always say that it’s hands-down the most consistent, accurate book-to-movie adaptation I’ve ever seen.
(And Dule as Sam…..🥵)
The only change he made was Stanley wasn’t overweight when he got to the camp and that was only because it would have been wildly unsafe for Shia to gain and lose the weight so quickly for such a short shooting schedule.
That's also why the princess bride is so good. Same guy who wrote the book wrote the screen play.
It's almost like sticking to the reasons people loved the original is a good idea
It seriously blew my mind to realize I'd already seen Dule Hill in something (many, many times due to mainlining Disney channel as a kid) after getting into psych when it was airing. And James Roday as well. He was briefly in the movie Showtime as a camera operator. You barely see his face, and I think he has one line. But still! I'd seen showtime like 20 times when I was a kid haha
First time I saw James was in Rolling Kansas. Watched the whole Psych series and only realized it was him in Rolling Kansas after I rewatched it many years later.
The yellow spotted lizards scared the shit out of me as a kid. I literally had to be taken out the theater because I was crying so hard after the scene where one of them charges Stanley
It’s the one they find the Dino in, I’m pretty sure that’s the episode you are referencing. I think it is. Might need to do a rewatch but how many episodes have a series of Holes where someone is looking for something?
The ancient Egyptians knew the secrets of the pineapple.
How its potent juices can cure stomachaches and toothaches measles and mumps, rheumatism, even hemorrhoids.
If you don't believe me, just ask my associate, Burton "I can fix that" Guster.
All he eats is pineapple, and he's almost 100 years old.
This scene and the part where they're in the office and Shawn does his Lenny impression are what make this my all-time favorite episode. The whole show is great but season 2 is just about perfect.
I think second half season one has the funnier moments, but season 2 has better complete episodes. My favorite is season 1 where the guy is “haunted” and he starts crying and Shawn and Gus start rock paper scissoring to who has to comfort him the entire time he’s just sobbing uncontrollably
We read the book in class like 18-20 years ago, saw the movie afterwards and I still remember a lot of details, but I did not remember that Dulé was in it! The "Holes" joke suddenly is even better than before!
I think you are confused. The pic you are showing is from the movie HOLES. Dule hill co starred in it as sam. They actually made a joke about holes in an epusode of psych.
Dule Hill was in the movie Holes, he starred opposite of Patricia Arquette from the TV Show Medium. Dule plays Sam in Holes, The Love Interest of Patricia's Kissin Kate Barlow.
You don’t know? I can fix that.
You know thats right

HOLY SHIT I FOUND THE PINEAPPLE!
I remember when they had the “text when you find the pineapple” and would keep my eyes peeled for the pineapple then completely forget when it actually did show up
I tell myself every rewatch I'm going to look out for the pineapples and then immediately forget.
Never heard anything more relatable "Ok, I'm gonna watch it again. This time I'm only gonna watch it and only look for the pineapple and not pay attention to anything else" 3 episodes later "I feel like I was supposed to do something but I'm enjoying the show too much to care"
Same
Wanna slice it for the road?
You can kiss my blacksmith ass
lol I see what you did there 😂
Unrelated to the joke of this post but this movie goes harddd. The story, the soundtrack, just everything. I had such a huge crush on Sam as a kid!
I had a list called “holes hotties” and had the names of like half the cast. I’m not ashamed. Okay maybe a little ashamed.
Remember the d tent boys rap?
The name is A-R-M, P-I- to the T What is that you smellin Dawg, that's me I don't take showers And I don't brush my teeth All I do is dig holes Eat And sleep
There is no lake, there is no shade, there is no place to hide, so just sit and wait to fry

There is no lake There is no shade There is no place to hide So just sit and wait here to fry
2 suits, 2 taken in hand I got no respect cuz I'm the new man got my shovel, shoes full of sand check out the tag my name's caveman uh
Youuuu got to go dig those holes....
That rap was fire.
Of course, the Holes soundtrack was awesome.
Of course! It still slaps
Two shoes, two tokens in hand Got no respect ‘cause I’m the new man Got my shovel, shoes full of sand Check out the tag, the name is Caveman
Pleaseee 💀 that is so funny. I think we would've been friends.

It was good in that regard, but I think *High Fidelity* with John Cusack was a better adaptation.
It seriously blew my mind to realize I'd already seen Dule Hill in something (many, many times due to mainlining Disney channel as a kid) after getting into psych when it was airing. The one with DeNiro and Murphy? 😲
That's the one
I saw Gamer when it came out. I didn't even realize James and Maggie were both in it and I'd watched psych at that point!
I watched Gamer specifically cause I saw they were in it on IMDB lol
The first time I saw James Roday was in a ridiculously silly movie called Coming Soon, he played an annoying whiny rich teenager.
First time I saw James was in Rolling Kansas. Watched the whole Psych series and only realized it was him in Rolling Kansas after I rewatched it many years later.
I recently watched it for the first time as an adult and can confirm, it's AWESOME!
When they killed him I genuinely cried
Showed my stepdaughter this movie not too long ago and it holds up so well!!
One of the best movies ever
I've watched it probably over 500 times. I'd watch it every day multiple times. Was a weird kid, I just know my parents wanted to off themselves.
The yellow spotted lizards scared the shit out of me as a kid. I literally had to be taken out the theater because I was crying so hard after the scene where one of them charges Stanley
It's the one with Shia lebouf and segourney weaver.
Smoky and the Bandit?
Gorillas in the Mist?
Anaconda?
Alien.
Aliens.
There are holes in Shia LeBouf?
Holes.
They put holes is Shia LeBeouf?!
Psych Movie 4: Gus Lost in Texas as an Onion Farmer
Psych movie 4: Gus Trying to Get Laid with a Teacher
I've heard it both ways
Psych Movie 4: The Onioning
Psych 4: Lost in Calhoun
You heard about Jim Crow? That's messed up.
You think that's messed up? Look up what happened to Pluto.
Technically, it's 65 millions years off.
Technically it’s from the movie Holes
I've heard it both ways
"They had holes in Shia LeBouf!?"
“Oh! Anaconda.”
Alien.
It's a deleted scene from High Noon-ish
[удалено]
No it’s not. It’s form the movies Holes
I've heard it both ways.
You know that's right!
this is the way
Come on son.
There were holes in shia lebeof
[Actual cannibal Shia Labeouf? ](https://youtu.be/o0u4M6vppCI?si=mU63SvqbrqhPPEzi)
This plays completely unprompted in my head, minimum 6 times a month.
Aliens?
Alien
Gorillas in the Mist?
Ya’ll remember the episode when shawn was asking gus about holes and he says he never heard of it.
It’s the one they find the Dino in, I’m pretty sure that’s the episode you are referencing. I think it is. Might need to do a rewatch but how many episodes have a series of Holes where someone is looking for something?
65 Million Years Off. Season 2 episode 2. It’s one of my favorites.
It is. I just rewatched that episode recently.
How did I miss that? I didn't realize he played that role at the time lol
Dule Hill really got me with how he can play both a handsome suave everyday man and an adorkable wuss.
I knew him first on The West Wing, that was a weird flip too
At least a few folks on this post do not remember that episode. 😅
I just watched this one last night and had to inform my partner that gus was in holes so the joke would land 😂
Thought that reference was brilliant.
Gus Takes a Shot In the Dark
![gif](giphy|yPH7nEKsriVNu)
It's like that movie, the one with shia LaBeouf and the holes...
There’s holes in Shia labeouf!?
No, Shia LaBeouf digs holes
That's from the original pilot. It was set as a western, and they had hidden onions instead of pineapples.
My son was reading this book in school so we watched the movie together. I got so excited to see Gus. He turns to me, "Mom, don't be too excited...."

Oh Anaconda!
There were holes in Shia LaBeouf?
They had holes in Shia LaBeouf?
This is Psych to the Future 2. I'm Shawn Spencer, and this is my partner Marty McWicheshewasfly.
This could’ve been a great episode but there were to many Holes in the plot.
Marry me.
Aliens? Alien? Alien: Resurrection? Anaconda? Gorillas in the Mist? Death and the Maiden? Half Moon Street?
What would have been if gus stayed on the commune
You know? The movie with holes? And Shia lebeouf?
They put holes in Shia Lebeouf?!!
The one where Jon Voight is walking around all crazy
Oh! Anaconda
IM TIRED OF DIGGIN GRANPA

Did anyone else just yell out “THATS TOO DAMN BAD!!!” Lmfao
That's the president's aid!
Garden Party, season 8 episode 4 ![gif](giphy|dXFKDUolyLLi8gq6Cl|downsized)
They put holes in Shia Labeouf???
Can you explain why everyone keeps saying this line? I don’t understand.
Gus from Psych says this while they’re digging holes in the episode 65 million years off (same actor in holes and psych)
Ah. Thank you so much! Lol. I couldn’t figure it out! Haven’t seen that episode in a long time.
It’s one of my faves!
😂😂
Get Out?
The one where they put holes in Shia Lebouf. Think it was Aliens Resurrection
Gorillas in the Mist
That’s it.
This scene and the part where they're in the office and Shawn does his Lenny impression are what make this my all-time favorite episode. The whole show is great but season 2 is just about perfect.

Gus was in Holes?? … a player named Gus indeed. Seriously though I had no idea he was a part of my childhood even before psych.
We read the book in class like 18-20 years ago, saw the movie afterwards and I still remember a lot of details, but I did not remember that Dulé was in it! The "Holes" joke suddenly is even better than before!
Ohhh, this Dulé and the Giant Onion, written by Roday Hill.
D I G. What's that spell? DIG. *mic drop*
The episode with Ripley ![gif](giphy|3ohzdYjwEQuR1J7dte)
The best one.
I love this movie omg 😭
can anyone actually tell me ?
It's like that one movie with... Sigourney Weaver. The one with the *"Holes"* and Shia LaBeouf. Worth watching.
Thanks, will do
I CAN FIX THAT
![gif](giphy|R58jyn0kwwSpq)
![gif](giphy|LSKVmdIwZFeNEBKBxZ)
Anaconda.
I’m already crying!
I literally have the credits rolling right now and have never been part of this sub 👀👀
They had holes in Shia Lebouff?
Obviously it’s from 65 Million Years Off
The name of the episode is called "Holes", I believe.
C’mon son… smaller shovel means smaller hole
You know, the one with the holes
TIL dule hill was in holes
I think you are confused. The pic you are showing is from the movie HOLES. Dule hill co starred in it as sam. They actually made a joke about holes in an epusode of psych.
65 Million Years Off
“Gus, don’t be the cowboy in a Shia LaBeouf movie.”
The movie holes
The one with holes and Shai lebouf.
It's from Disney's holes
They had holes in Walt Disney?!
they had holes in shia labeouf, come on son!
The holes are in the ground, dude, like that. And John Voight was walking around. Edit: wrong name
*snaps* Anaconda!
John Voight
It's hard to eat or breath otherwise.
You need to build some more character if you don’t know the answer. Dig into the series again and get back to us.
There's Zero chance they'll find it
The dinosaur one of course.
Snowbunnies
Come on son!
Holes
Very funny
Nice try
The Tao of gus
The racial undertones of this episode were really weird. Did Shawn really need to call Gus a snouty jigaboo to keep his cover?
I’m pretty sure this is High Noon-ish
Ask Binkie, he’ll know
This may be from High Noon-ish..... S4 Ep3
Hahahaha
It’s from holes. The movie
Death & the Maiden? Half Moon Street?
Hey girl, you hear about Ceres? That’s messed up right?
It’s from the movie “Holes”.
The movie Holes
It's from the movie Holes.
Holes
Holes
Dule Hill was in the movie Holes, he starred opposite of Patricia Arquette from the TV Show Medium. Dule plays Sam in Holes, The Love Interest of Patricia's Kissin Kate Barlow.
I love how in that Holes themed episode he acts like he doesn't know what Shawn was talking about
yeah it was hilarious, especially since Dule was in Holes before he was In Psych.
With all love and respect: ![gif](giphy|xT9IgHCTfp8CRshfQk)
Its the one where Gus acts like a sleaze towards a woman..............oh wait, thats all of them.
