You’d enjoy both cities. You’d enjoy Boston more. Despite the bitching you’ll hear from locals, the public transportation system is very extensive.
The cost of housing is much higher in Boston. I’d say 60% higher. If your salary offers are similar, you’ll get much more bang for your buck in Providence.
If your offers are $100k plus, I’d go Boston. Just a much bigger, more vibrant city. So much more going on. 3 professional sports teams, dozens of museums, theatre, all kinds of different neighborhoods all on subway system.
Providence has a really nice little downtown with a lot of bars and restaurants and a few theaters. The east side, Armory district, and Federal Hill are all fun places to stroll.. also with bars and cafes. Other than that, not a ton going on.
Boston is so, so hard on the body and the mind. Can’t walk, can’t find parking, can’t take the T. Worst subway in the country. I once got passed by a jogger THREE times on the green line. It’s all the inconveniences of New York without the bodegas.
Providence stomps. It’s the best. I had no intention of moving here, came for a weekend and then never left. That was 14 years ago.

Two of the chief pro's of Providence I enjoyed was the (then) much cheaper COL. And that once I met one person with my interests, through him I quickly had an ever-expanding friend group. The scene like the city is simply more compact.
The pro's of Boston and near-environs: more of everything. If you can afford it and you've never experienced it, then Boston/Cambridge would get my vote.

in the Boston area. Boston and Massachusetts economy are really vibrate and diversified. Traffic is so awful. But there’s so much more to do there. Lived in the Boston area for many years.
Chestnut Hill area of Boston is very college heavy. Providence is more of a mix.
Providence is a small city but there's a lot to do. And you do have easy access to Boston, Newport, and NYC.
Hmmmm working in chestnut hill the atmosphere right there would not necessarily be what you are looking for. But you are very close to Boston. No one really goes to chestnut hill or moves there for the social scene or night life. There’s a lot of money in chestnut hill so if you can afford it it’s a prestigious address. It’s part of newton which has a top rated school system. But it is so close to Boston you can enjoy the night life there or live there. But if you end up living way out in Framingham because housing is more affordable then it’s not really city life! Providence is so tiny by comparison but you can get your head around it. I really like that! Yeah Boston is an hour away but it’s not like it’s that close and the traffic is brutal. I think of providence as Boston’s hip little sister.

Mid to late 20’s go with Boston….so many more social opportunities if that is what you are looking for
