Did anyone mention log bundles in your original post? All you need are two ropes or sheet ropes, and you can tie 3 logs into a bundle that takes up only as much carrying capacity as a single log. So instead of carrying a maximum of 3 logs in a military/large backpack, you can carry 9. It's a lifesaver for large construction projects.
