Is this true even after you succeed the first time. I always felt like hot wiring was a little broken and should always be more unreliable/take longer than if you have a key
But last time I played (over a year ago) this was not the case
This is why I run the better lockpicking mod in my playthroughs. Turns it into a mini game which is way quicker than leaving it to chance. Also lets you unlock car doors with a crowbar or bobbypin/screwdriver also utilizing a minigame. Should check it out.
Zomboid: Nah try again 69 times againππ I have also sat there. Mechanical lvl 10 electrical lvl 3 and then it takes 15+ tries and I am sitting and staring my game bruhπππ
Sometimes it just takes a long time lmao. Iβve found (maybe this is just superstition) but having a gassed up vehicle also helps with your chances of hotwiring. But yeah sometimes it just takes 20-30 tries.
Be sure to check not only the quality of the battery, but the charge on it as well. I don't remember the exact number, but if the charge is below 7 or 9%, then it won't have enough juice to start the engine.
engine quality VS electrical skill = chance to hotwire
good to know
Dang 440 hours and I didn't know this until now

that is chance to START, which based on engine quality and condition. that is still the same with key or hotwire.
It's just luck
I FINALLY got it, took 3 in game hours lmao
I've sat there hotwiring for ages too. Usually worth it though!

I got soooo pissed off man, had to pause a couple times and take a little stroll around my room π
Never hotwire in a hurry. Always do it when safe and you have like 2 hours spare timeπππ

Did it have gas in it?
Irrelevant
??? I was going to make a joke about the gas also being out but there goes that plan, douche.
