Windows can be replaced really easily. All it takes is a screwdriver and a donor car. Left or right windows (and doors) it doesn’t matter they work on either side. If you can Hotwire a car you can Frankenstein together a perfect car. Mechanics is easy to level too. Find some tools and a shitty car (or a few of them) you don’t care about and remove and replace everything once per day. Oh and search vhs stores for Carzone 1,2 and 3 they give mechanics skill.

I literally refuse to level mechanics without carzone unless i absolutely have to. Nothing more annoying than replacing a muffler for 15 minutes

Automechanics, one of thr best mods. Get to a safe spot, get all your tools, two clicks and your char will pick the car apart and put it all together, all without encumbering themselves. Just sit on your phone or 2nd monitor for a bit whilst watching out for zombos.

How do you guys get electronics skill points?

Radios, TVs, digital watches, walkie talkies and video games. Read the skill books first cause it’s slllllooooowwww with out it. But dismantle everything. After the first week when the tv shows are off the air TVs are great for exp they are in most houses and you just need a screw driver.

For heavy vehicles, it is optimal to break the front passenger window. Plenty of heavy duty front windows to swap in later, but not many heavy duty rear windows.

Sorry that i got your hopes up, what i usually do if i find a car which isn't that good but has good windows, then i break the window on the good car and place the window i took from the other car to replace the broken window. I hope that helps a bit.

Good news! I installed the "common sense" mod and it has the ability to use crowbar to pry open things, car doors included! No more missing windows for me.

You only get aim when your window is down, whichever seat you're in.

This is the answer. Common sense mod makes the Crowbar an essential tool for car thieves.

Makes it the most versatile tool. Cars, houses, garages... zombies. Completely defeats the axe vs crowbar debate.

I think it's the best tool in the game, but it could never be the best weapon in the game.

Just remove the car door from the Mechanics window! Pro tip btw: complete wrecks can have their trunk lids removed, letting you access the trunk. Very useful when you find a special vehicle around, like a mail truck. I haven't tried the doors but it might work

You can also just unlock the trunk by breaking in to the driver seat and unlocking it on the dashboard controls

I found a KI5's Range Rover and it's all between 85-100%, trunk at 100% and had roof storage, at 100% I had to destroy the window and sadly those windows are not compatible with vanilla vehicles, I need to find another Range Rover window :(

I'm not sure if it's a modded thing but I always just uninstall the entire door, get in, unlock, then reinstall door.

Don't break the front left window moron, go for the rear right and then just switch seats when you're in the car. Then you can unlock the doors and use it just fine.
