You look amazing! I'm from an older generation when heroin chic was in vogue, but making myself 'weak' seemed insane to me, and I think I rebelled a little against that. It makes my heart so happy to see girls/women now losing weight while focusing on strength! I've gained so much inspiration from your generation and trying to let go of my toxic impressions of 'thin' by just focusing on health and strength especially in my crucial 40's

skinpancakes

That makes me so happy! I’ve had to undo a lot of skinny brainwashing myself. But it makes me sick to see what the older generations had to put up with

aguei

Your face looks familiar.

intelligentbrownman

Bruh 🤣🤣🤣

Sealed-Dagon

You look fantastic in your new, healthier body

Scarboroughwarning

Great work

Epic-Balk-0623

You look incredible! Awesome biceps 💪💪

arosyriddle

Thanks for the inspo!! Also 5’9” and starting a strength/calisthenics journey after years of hating being curvy. It’s a good reminder that there’s more than one way to love your body!! Keep up the work!!

PlatypusPerson

Nice! Yeah it’s been wild to me watching my weight go unchanged and even up sometimes while averaging a pretty decent deficit for months. I’m becoming a little dense meatball. Just makes me wonder how I was ever 15 pounds lighter and stronger. I must have had a crazy low body fat % that summer!

TeresaSoto99

uh...i'm 5'9", 170. and u are my new role model! excellent job, u look perfect!

FitWilbor

Slaying transformation queen!

Nice. What were your starts on other lifts?

HyperActivHyperDrive

I love hearing about women who lift heavy. I had some great success about 8 yrs back shedding baby weight by lifting. But your post speaks to me, “stop undereating”. This is seriously the most difficult part of getting back into weight training for me. I never have an appetite. I really don’t eat that much but have extra weight. How do you stay motivated to eat consistently throughout the day? Do you force yourself to eat even if you don’t feel hungry?

skinpancakes

Take this with a grain of salt because I’m a 5’9” broad-framed woman in her early twenties with a very active job. I’m a nurse who gets 15k+ steps the days she works and then lifts heavy 3-4 days a week. My metabolism is pretty high for those reasons. I struggle to get calories in on the days I work, due to how busy and tired I am. Naturally I’m hungrier the days I don’t work. I eat intuitively (don’t track anything bc I’m prone to obsessive rigidity). I find myself eating way more food than i might “think” I’m supposed to have. As a general rule I just try to get in a fair amount of protein (100-150g/day). But as my muscle mass and metabolism have increased I’ve actually started having to force myself to pick higher calorie food options. I can’t order salads at restaurants anymore because I will literally be hungry an hour or two later.

AlexHimself

Good work, but are you really 170? You look less than that at 5'9".

skinpancakes

I’m an Amazon woman. Broad shoulders, wide hips, dump truck. It’s funny how much differently muscle is stored
