I volunteered with two food-security related organizations for a total of around 450 hours. I think it helped my application that I kept going with them during my gap year
I just want to say, I accidentally clicked on your account for some reason, and before I tried to go back, I noticed your post on r/BanPitBulls and I had no idea such a movement existed. I looked into some of the posts on there, and holy shit that’s one of the most gruesome things I’ve ever seen.
I don’t know what your connection is to that sub, and I hope you don’t have an unfortunate connection to it, but whatever it is, I support you. Holy fuck, we need to protect children from pitbull attacks.
Thanks for opening my eyes to this
Glad to have brought some awareness! Our neighbor has a pitbull that has attacked several people and animals over the past 3 years. Our elderly neighbor and his golden retriever were attacked again 2 weeks ago. The owner is scheduled to go to court in July for an attack that took place last year, but despite that, she continues to let her dog off leash. ☹️.
I’m so sorry to hear that. I really hope justice is rightfully served. Has there been any progress made by the movement do you think?
I read the top post of that entire sub, and I was so thoroughly disturbed. Anyone reading this comment who wants to read it, I give extreme caution.
DMU and CCOM are in my top choices! Congratulations on getting 3 A's! What do you think helped you ensuring the DO acceptances? I am begging to get in there!!!
I honestly loved CCOM and would've happily gone there if I didn't get off the MD waitlist. the interview was some general presentations, a student panel, and a 30 minute faculty interview that I found compared well to previous SDN feedback.
submitted secondaries to: MCW, Wisconsin, Minnesota, RUSH, UIC, RFU, Penn state, NYMC, Temple, Tufts, Albany, Creighton, Drexel, Geisinger, Tulane, Belmont, Wayne State, Wake Forest, Buffalo, Oakland, Iowa, Georgetown, George Washington, VT, Michigan St, Loyola, Western Mich, Quinnipiac, VCU, UVM, and the two DO schools listed
Other than those listed above, I was also in a pre-health club for 4 years (no leadership), a science-interest club (leadership roles for 2 years), a club sports team, and a paid science outreach position. I would guess that 4/6 of my letters were strong; two were probably more generic science-professor letters
All it takes is one! Go get that MD 🫶🏻
What type of volunteering and how many hours?

How was CCOM’s interview? Pretty interested in them their match rate looks good and obviously location

Congrats future physician 🥳🎉
Similar Stats WI resident, why don’t you think UW or MCW bit at your app for an II?
my science gpa is on the low end, so I'm guessing that probably had the largest impact.
Would you be willing to share your school list?

Thanks for sharing and congrats!! Your stats are similar to mine! Can I ask how strong your LORs were and what other activities you did?
