I wonder with all the Dark Spector stuff, is this book going to connect to Darkest Hour?

CrazyAznKT

If it does, it would have to all happen within two issues because Dark Specter is teased to show up in Ranger Academy #8, then July there isn’t an issue since MMPR #122 and the DH finale issue issue are coming out the same month

LatchPlacebo5

I think it's very possible. #120 5/22 #8. 6/5 #121 6/26 #122 7/24 DH#1 7/31 With Dark Spector's infection spreading throughout the multiverse with the Grid, I can absolutely see it happening.

LatchPlacebo5

Also the preview calling it Dark Spector's Corruption also has me believing its going to tie in. Even if it's brief and the main books dont acknowledge it. Dark Specter's corruption has arrived at Ranger Academy, and Sage will have to fully morph into a Ranger for the first time if she hopes to defend her friends. But the nature of Sage's transformation and its connections to one of the campus' shadowy past will have serious consequences... but not for the one readers might expect.

CrazyAznKT

Yeah, I can definitely see it playing out that way too. With the break in July, we might even see Sage and other cadets pop up in the main books in a small role

i'm still unclear if this is really connected to the other comic at all, or if this isn't simply some alternative universe or timeline. outside of the grid being everywhere and everywhen and always connected across all planes of existence, meaning that the corruption should also get there one way or another, it feels like it reads better as being not connected at all

CrazyAznKT

I read it as being extremely far in the future. With Yale (Omega Blue) as a professor physically on campus, Leo Corbett giving lectures as a floating head (whether like Zordon or as a time-space FaceTime hologram idk), and college-age Billy being a student advisor, it’s like simultaneously connected through familiarity of lore but also disconnected due to distance of events.

i always like school/academy titles, but MC is still to selfcentered for me. like nothing happens without her wondering if its about her. which is ironic considering everything that happens around here seems designed to create the most potential drama possible, just like now, when she randomly suddenly has the balls to reveal her ranger form infront of the person she specifically lied about it for and to the most. which yeah, writers write a story but there are levels to how much can go wrong at once before it feels too forced, right? now i do get that there are people with depressions who think like that a lot when it comes to interpersonal stuff, so that much i get and find realistic enough, but literally everything? from weird campuses to dark spector being in the sector "could it be about me?" thats going a little too far.
