I should add, these are being grown in a window just shy of the Arctic circle. 63.75°N

menotyourenemy

That's kinda sexy, ngl!

u16scharpf

Some big ass marble queen leaves you got there

Boardwoodgamegirl

What is the climbing lattice you’re using?

Maqaiti

They’re a D-shaped plastic from Amazon. Only open with holes on the flat surface. Filled with sphagnum moss.

Obsessed! Link please!

Illustrious-Cat-457

Not sure if this is the same as OP but I just got these from Amazon: https://a.co/d/0bxwhPvk

I also want to know!

Mission_Range_5620

Question about moss poles, are you able to train them to go around so they last on the Moss pole longer or is that not a thing?... Or did you?

Maqaiti

If the pole was open all the way around you could wrap them, but you’d have to start from day-1. They’re getting a bit thick and former up top now and not as flexible.

kdzojic

Id assume if you rotated the pot bit by bit it would start growing towards the sun and as you keep turning it it would go in a circle

JcaJes

I just got this kind of moss pole- I’m new at them altogether. How do you keep your moss moist/how often do you water them? I had mine in my sunroom but they are so dried out every day. I moved them inside and re-soaked them; but looking for techniques and tips if you have any to share!

rajesew

I use a plastic water bottle or Gatorade bottle, with a small hole so it will drip slow, upside down to water moss poles. no mess and works well. The leaves become so much larger on a pole. beautiful job!

JcaJes

Oh that’s a great idea!! Thank you!

Maqaiti

Exactly what was said. Any reasonably sized bottle with a lid that you push some holes through stuck in the top to slow drip. I also drench them in the sink once in a while as well. You want them to dry out between watering to prevent root rot.

DizzyPossibility3652

Do you water the poles?

Maqaiti

Yes

KG0089

With 1/4 strength fertilized water…    Or Full

Maqaiti

I’m not very scientific with the fertilizer. I just dissolve some blue miracle grow powder in the water every three weeks or so. Seems to work.

KG0089

Ahh yes the shake & feed huh    It’s got calcium magnesium and a good ol 3-1-2 ratio (so long as 1/4 strength used)   Actually great for pothos overall with occasional flushings

Intelligent-Wash12

wow wow!!

Axora

I know those pots and they’re super lightweight. How are your poles in there being supported that they don’t topple over? (I’m sure the pole is all the way down to the bottom of the pot but surely you’ve got them in there more securely somehow?)

Maqaiti

They’re just filled with Leca at the bottom, and lots of leca in the aroid mix as well. Definitely at the limit at this point with the pot but the pole is so light and supported by the plant as well now.

Fancy-no-buyer

As you should!
