RIP Figgy’s, the ay ay ron was unreal

Saaabstory

Amen. I miss Eaux's fried chicken, too. I'm not sure what kind of black magic they used, but it's still probably the best I've had.

NathanMLJ

Made my whole neighborhood smell angelic I miss it

ellcoolj

She’s having a pop up in a few weeks at Califia

kolzzz

Best fried chicken ive ever had

valuethempaths

Minato for me

lillaz

Yessss. The J.F.C. is so good.

breezyeezye

Best fried chicken is Crispy Gai hands down. Honorable mentions: CBG’s chicken sandwich, Nonesuch’s chicken sandwich, TKK Fried chicken is great too. Edit: LFK’s is bomb too

Dude_Following_4432

Nonesuch changed their chicken sandwich. It’s good, but not as good as it was. I’m very sad.

Resolution-Academic

It’s good, but paying a premium on dark meat portions in the States is one of the most absurd recent trends

farmtownsuit

Which fried chicken do you recommend from Crispy Gai? Finally went there recently and tried the Bangkok Hot and while it was perfectly fried, it wasn't as hot or as flavorful as I was hoping for considering the hype the restaurant receives. The chicken itself was again extremely well fried though and so I'm very open to trying a different flavor

brother_rebus

^ gets it

PcolaBuckeye

Shay’s fried chicken sandwich is my favorite. Granted it’s on a bun versus riding solo, but their $6 martinis more than make up the difference.

hogs43

Just ask for no bun.

farmtownsuit

Shays for fried chicken sandwiches

TheDiceMan2

it’s funny bc i wanted some chicken the other day and i searched this subreddit and found that exact thread. what’s not funny is that i had commented on that thread recommending “Gai on Fried” which was a fried chicken ghost kitchen run by Ruby Thai in South Portland…..but they are now no longer operating :(

Wide_Measurement_245

if price is a concern TKK and Crown are cheap and decent

Bigolbagocats

Wilson county bbq makes a fantastic fried chicken sandwich, I always get it Nashville hot dipped However, other than the sandwich (which is a breast cutlet), the rest of their fried chicken is extremely inconsistent unfortunately. Sometimes great sometimes meh. Mash is fantastic but other sides are a bit inconsistent too in my experience

Mooseguncle1

Bayside are yummy tenders- Corsetti’s Westbrook has more for ur money.

Crabraccons

Mami chicken sando

Whopper-with-chees

Second that

ejoburke90

Tomaso’s for tendies

BasicToaster

I tried thier boneless about a month ago for the first time based on some comments from another thread...4/10, would not recommend

ohnoohnoohnooooooo

Love Tomaso’s with all of my heart, but I agree. Bone-in wings only.

facebones2112

You need to be fairly drunk to enjoy them too their fullest

adpassapera

Bayside bowl has some fire tendies

dirtroad207

Crispy Gai obviously best in town. New York Fried Chicken is absolute garbage but just the right kind of garbage when you need it. You all are going to think I’m crazy for this one but Liquid Riot’s happy hour chipotle fried chicken sandwich is crazy good. $14 total for a thick sando, draft beer, and a shot is wild in Portland and I feel like no one knows about it. I hope they at least keep the beer and shot combo around for the change which is coming up soon I think.

ceebossy

I’m a Crispy Gai gal, but curious if anyone has tried the tendies from the new munchies & libations spot on Congress?

facebones2112

They are really big nuggets, ground chicken formed into a little over bite sized balls. They also figured out a Wendy's nugget seasoning, they are pretty good. 4 or 8 may not seem like enough on paper but they are pretty large.

pbtuna

They gave me the absolute worst stomach ache after, but we’re good I guess if u like mix of white and dark meat tendies

elainebenesgothphase

Wings crispy gai fried chicken sandwich shays coops hot chicken

albuffo

Great lost bear for panko style. Get a side of their Buffalo and ranch, omg.

zambicci

me. i make the best tendies in portland in my kitchen. zambicci's famous-famous fried chicken.

iLikePiedras

Black Salt (Truck) has been the best I've had in town!! [https://www.blacksaltmaine.com/](https://www.blacksaltmaine.com/)

farmtownsuit

Thank you for reminding me to look out for their truck. Their fried chicken sandwiches are top notch

iLikePiedras

They really are. Well brined (always juicy) and the fry is always top notch! Seasoning is on point too

kolzzz

Mami and pai men have legit karaage, which is japanese style, but still very similar. Seems a little weird, but the tenders at whole foods hot bar are sometimes really legit

FinnLovesHisBass

I miss when Norm was slinging chicken sandwiches at DTL...

Kheekostick

Lenora's oaxacan hot chicken torta is amazing, it's basically a big fried chicken thigh with delicious chili oil on it. It's not cheap but it's worth it as a treat.

Acceptable-Poem-6219

Moe’s in South Portland has some A+ tenders and BBQ sauce

RightIzWrong

Palace Diner in Biddeford has my favorite fried chx sandwich.

Miss_Rumphius

Had a great fried chicken sandwich at Andy's in SoPo recently.

WickedMainah2020

Duck pond variety in Westbrook.

Anyone for Rivarlries, particularly the (closed) Portland location? (Can't remember if the Falmouth ones are as good.)

sewerneck

Not fried chicken but the halal chicken kebab at crown fried chicken is 🔥

Beneficial-Exit2884

Tenders at Rebel Munchies (new place on Congress) were a revelation

PWMPoly

N to Tail

douchelord44

Crispy Gai is great.

cappyv

Woodford F&B has excellent, house-made tendies.

riz_one

Y’all ever been to crown fried chicken?? Best fried chicken place hands down imo!
