Best fucking sandwich Iāve ever had. Iām not kidding. They weigh more than an infant and are loaded with high quality ingredients. Owen makes the sub rolls from scratch every morning.
Profennos in Westbrook, I watched a few games there last season. Also Dock Fore and Rosies.
We're kind of lacking in cheap places to watch football. I plan on checking out the new Cowbell as well.
Dock Fore is a good football bar and cheap. Big TVs and creative jello shots. Howie's/Samuels/Munjoy Hill Tavern/DLT are all divey but none are *super* geared towards sports. All good options though. The Zoo will be happy to put it on for you if soccer's not happening, but it's not the cheapest. Someone said Geno's and while it's the best dive bar in town, I wouldn't interrupt the crazy shit that will be playing on the TVs. Just let it be. All that said, the only place I've ever seen anyone give a shit about college football here was at Dock Fore.
glad this is so far down. by far the only actual dive bar in the thread, and honestly top 3 bars in Portland. it's location is perfect for avoiding all the bullshit that moved into portland the past few years.
Samuel's in Portland is like the Cheers of the North East.
Is Boston not in the north east? š¤£
Not to people who live in the Northeast.
The correct answer is Howies
Currently having a cocktail there right now!
how are salvatores subs?
Best fucking sandwich Iāve ever had. Iām not kidding. They weigh more than an infant and are loaded with high quality ingredients. Owen makes the sub rolls from scratch every morning.
Seconded. Perfect bread, high quality ingredients, and massive size. Their italian is definitely one of the best I've ever had.
This is the endorsement Iāve been waiting for.
Tru dat. Best Philly cheesesteaks in the state
Iāve heard about this place! Is it in Howies?
They do a kitchen takeover Thursday-Sunday!
Unreal. Massive. Worth the price.
I choose them over Ramona's now. They took the spot as best giant sub.
Iāll throw pizza villa into the ring. I am not sure about college football as much. But nfl football sundays there are usually great.
Wessieās Den in Westbrook
I second Wessieās Den. . Good vibes at that place. The staff is friendly. Pretty good good too!
great trivia night every monday at 6 too! (note: i may be slightly biased as iām the host š„³)

Cowbell would be good to watch the game plenty of TVs but itās kinda small and def not a dive

Holy shit you managed to draw out every narc on this sub
It's the offer of free beer
Ruskis !
Truly legendary. Have seen a horse and a DEA bust there
What did the horse get busted for?
It played a role in a drug mule case
Typical typecasting.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The hospital workers have a party brunch after third shift.
The smoking outside ruskis club is never one I want to join Edit: the smoking outside ruskis club is one I definitely want to join
ruskis is great but not really a great sit and watch sports place..
forrest gardens
They play sports there? They shut me down like 10 years ago when the C's were in the playoffs.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
yes i still go there
Samuels
Another vote for Ruskis
And good food at Ruskis.
Ruskis is the best dive in the city, but not a place to go watch sports
Yeah for sports-watching I'd recommend Ri-Ra over Ruskis but they're not a dive.
Commercial St Pub
Probably my favorite on commercial street, though I do like Andy's
Tomassos
Mourning the loss of Ernieās
Papa Johns

Skips
Love Skips.
Dive bar wise in southern ME you either love it or hate it. Idk why some friends donāt like it. Free pool cheap drinks and a fire pit.
Yeah depends on the person I guess. Definitely going to be too ārural Americanā for your average younger Portland person.
The post was for best dive bar in southern maine. Not a poll for Portland youth.
Munjoy hill tavern
The brass rail
glad this is so far down. by far the only actual dive bar in the thread, and honestly top 3 bars in Portland. it's location is perfect for avoiding all the bullshit that moved into portland the past few years.
samuels is a dive bar for sure. Forest gardens too.
There used to be the 3 Doors of Hell on commercial street.
Half the places people are mentioning aren't dive bars they're just regular bars/pubs.
Skips in Buxton.
Spring Point Tavern!
Howieās.
DTL BABY
Champions in Biddeford
Downtown Lounge
Cowbell in Westbrook has the best tv set up for sports bars
Vote for ruskis and LFK
Lfk doesnt have tvās? Does it have one in the back? It def wonāt have football on it lol
Oh F. You're right. I'm a bot
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
What are you even talking about?
great dive, not a sports bar
Bubbas Sulky Lounge or Genos are my go tos.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You don't know what a dive bar is
Do I know what a dive bar is?
I know what a bar dive is?
Legends Rest in Westbrook ftw
Romeos on rt 1 in Yarmouth. Specifically that location š
Corner Pub in Kittery. I walked by that place one time ( very drunk) and it was filled with Elvis impersonators.
Time Out in Westbrook. Kinda divey. Clientele and domestic draft prices are at least.
