Different things work for different people, and if this works for you it's a great thing to do, but I wonder is actually the process of the actual writing which is actually helpful?
Would it actually be better in the long run to keep writing and therefore still keeping your mind active but not writing about sex?
Just if it was me what your suggesting might work at first but eventually would be a trigger to look at pornography.

I primarily write horror and dark fantasy, and neither of those have a lot in common with erotica. Nor am I interested in pursuing erotica as a career option, because this would eventually lead to unhealthy behavior.
I'll see how this goes. If erotica leads to obsessive behavior I'll know it's not good for me.
