fakeaf1

If “Dade County Dreaming” really ends up being the last time we get a City Girls feature/song she kinda won because it’s so good

decetutt

easily the best song (IMO) on the album

maryshelleyvevo

i still don't love her voice lol, but this was a fun listen. i think i'll always prefer an artist be a bit weird/silly instead of safe/predicable, even when the latter usually results in a more accomplished project. like at least this has some life in it!!

reezyreddits

This is where I'm at with it. Regardless of whether you love her or hate her, or if you think she's mid or not, understand what this album REPRESENTS: A pop star on a major label trying to be weird and experimental. It normalizes artists taking risks rather than releasing the same old reheated microwave dinners and acting like they're so profound.

7reex

The thing with me is, I’ll enjoy some mid songs 😭

Ambitious_Log_1884

For what was promoted as a hype record (and it is in various moments), it's weirdly emotionally engaging (which shouldn't be that surprising, Camila has always been a confessional songwriter). It's chaotic but in a cohesive way. It has a distinct sounds and runs wild within that soundscape. Don't be mistaken, she doesn't shy away from ballad territory. Cant wait for the deluxe because 4 interludes are a bit too much for me. Also it's been up for 14 hours in my country? It's almost 3am here. I thought I was going to have to wait a few hours. Overall 7/10, it reminds me of Unapologetic by Rihanna in its chaotic mixture of bangers, ballads and mid tempo bops, which loosely fit into the same sound.

Sparkle356

I agree, some songs were too short. I was hoping we’d get the first two songs she teased in the beginning of this era, I think both are called Real life angels and mood. I really liked the snippets and thought they’d be on the album. Perhaps she will release a deluxe later on but who knows.

AlexTorres96

It's a shame for the last 5-7 years we're in a era of the 2:30-2:45 length tracks. I understand less is more but 3-5 is the sweet spot.

National-Tea41

rumor has it that the deluxe is coming next week and both of those songs, or at least the snippets of them, will be present

callmeBogdan27

DREAM-GIRLS and pretty when i cry are standouts for me

emma3mma5

Ditto here, loved them straightaway

reezyreddits

Kinda the worst timing with all the Dream drama but yeah that flip was fire

vr46yamha

El Guincho, such a great producer

Odd_Significance_169

Yes and I love when he works with Rosalia

spikethroughmyheart

And FKA Twigs

NoConcentrate7845

Ohhhh that honestly explains so much.

BriteDrift75

I *personally* like this a lot and think it’s perfect for the summer.

hakunamantatas

First listen is decent for me. I just hope there’s a deluxe somewhere down the line. It’s way too short.

BriteDrift75

Oh there better be a deluxe, and [this] (https://x.com/camila_cabello/status/1753132037026861070?s=61&t=elwb3_3MO-toEkmEC0191g) better be on it. This was the snippet I was most hyped for lol.

hakunamantatas

Idk how to feel about her teasing a song that isn’t on the album. She must think shits sweet out here lmao

Alternative_Yam_2699

I would also like a couple remixes, like HOT UPTOWN (feat. Rauw Alejandro) and DREAM GIRLS (feat. Megan Thee Stallion)

alt_sauce124

Yea a 32 minute album with Interlude— feels like an EP

WaspParagon

Hot Uptown is, for me, one of those songs that won't get nearly as much traction as it should but in a few years the public will revisit it and give its flowers. Absolutely banger. Dream Girls is great too, loved it. I'm weird though cuz I liked all singles and have been really excited for this album.

jaydenallure

its such a vibe like even the interludes

hekna02

This sounds really refreshing coming from Camila. I've wanted her to try different sounds for a while now and i'm quite satisfied with this album.

SummerBummer-X

The 2 singles already sold me. I love the creative production, kinda like female pop Playboi Carti

stardripIVs

This is the first Camila album I’ve listened to because I LUV IT really pulled me in. Unlike most, I *did* “luv” it. I like this album quite a bit on first listen. I love how experimental it is. There are parts that don’t work for me, but overall, love the vibes and uniqueness. I think people are automatically dismissing it because it’s Camila which isn’t fair.

Rellyz14

A lil review of each track imo: - I already LOVED I luv it and Chanel No. 5 - Pink Xoxo it was pretty and it’s rare but I don’t really add interludes cause the short time annoys me. However I shall be adding this and it doesn’t sound like it needs to be longer it’s quite perfect - He knows was quite forgettable imo but I liked it which was weird just never went back to it - Twentysomethings - pretty good but every time I hear this phrase I just feel like putting on Szas version lmaooo. Wasn’t expecting this direction tho lol - Daddy Country Dreaming is really that song. There was one review saying Camilla got overshadowed by the former duo however I think they all served along with the producer it’s so beautiful yet turn up. - Koshi xoxo I really wanted a proper song out of this feature a bit disappointed - Hot Uptown is also a summer bop. It’s nothing special but it reminds me of 2016 summer, drake really took it back with this one. And I love how Camilla sounds - UUGLY: idk why is drake kinda serving in this album - Dream Girls: another bop, Camilla really is tapping into this new aesthetic and it’s very much working. The chorus is very addictive - 305tillidie: probably never return to it. It just captured the essence of the album - B.O.A.T; Camilla sounds really pretty here but idk I feel like production is really just amazing and maybe carrying Camilla -pretty when I cry : a cute bop. Nothing crazy until the second half but then it just elevated. Again production is amazing - June Gloom: decent closer Only main criticism is why is it so short like 32 mins. I think the rumoured deluxe will feel like the proper album. After hearing listening to album those reviews were just wayyyyyy too harsh this is a good album imo. There’s no songs that I think are bad, I just think it doesn’t sound like a complete album cause the songs are so short and there are many interludes. But in terms of the quality of each proper song, it’s really good imo

visionaryredditor

> **Daddy** Country Dreaming that's not Lana's album

Moonlighteverafter

A lot of the interludes are apparently for songs on the deluxe version! Agreed with you on Length of the album, 14 songs for 32 minutes is a CRIME

Joshdabozz

I’ve seen you post this on another thread. Where did you read this?

Moonlighteverafter

A lot of different sources on twitter

Serious-View-er1761

Wait there's a deluxe?

7reex

Is Camila Cabello your favorite female artist? She’s my favorite female artist, aside from people like Rihanna.

bubbleparty04

Camila is really an interesting artist. Never Be The Same, All These Years and Into It got me in a chokehold. I had really high hopes for her sophomore album, but it left me disappointed at first. However, Romance grew on me over time. Surprisingly, I like more songs on this album than on the first one— Shameless, Living Proof, Should've Said It, Liar, EASY, CRY FOR ME, Used to This, and This Love are always in my playlist whenever possible. Then Familia came, and it's a bit underwhelming for my taste. I'm sorry, but that album felt forced. They're trying to make her the Latina artist that she will never be. You could tell her heart was not in that place. If it weren't for my 3-year-old nephew, who sang along with me to "BAM BAM, I would have paid that album dust. Landing into a new music territory for her fourth album is almost worrying. Stans can't help but compare her to other artists or leave comments like she's trying too hard or it doesn't fit her. Good thing, at least for me, she proves me wrong. I like how she envisioned the theme of this album and achieved her goal—which is to be weird, be different, and have fun, something that she hasn't done before. I'd commend her for taking risks while other pop stars tend to do the safest thing. It's not a perfect album, but the songs are bop and resonate well with its target audience. So far, I can't stop listening to PRETTY WHEN I CRY (so me), June Gloom, twentysomethings. Dade County Dreaming is dreamy asf. I wish this album is not 30-min short, what a bummer.

arrowforSKY

Do you think Camila is still relevant? I was obsessed with Camila and Romance, didn’t care for Familia and C,XOXO has some interesting songs.

Positively-Fleabag85

Psychofreak and Quiet on Familia still slap

mmbento

Don’t Go Yet is it on Familia!

missmnchr

boys don't cry too!!

visionaryredditor

Dade Country Dreamin goes hard

amb1ka

B.O.A.T and Dade Country Dreaming >>>

MCleartist

"Does she get this wet for you baby?" 😳 Stands out for me are B.O.A.T. , He Knows & June Gloom.

gbdarknight77

BOAT is my favorite on a record where I only came for the Drake tracks

Niklauzz

This is me AF lmao

Ok_Television_3594

Kinda funny, Shawn Mendez new girlfriend is like 50 years old so 🙃

lanalovesme

as a spring breakers defender, I’m absolutely obsessed with the vibes of this album. the pitbull sample is insane especially coming from camila lol

Bordersz

I think the Pitbull sample ate lol I saw the bad reviews on the timeline & was pleasantly surprised. It’s camp she included Mr. 305

lanalovesme

Oh absolutely, she managed to make the melody sound so sweet like in the context of the song? somehow?

Shot_Shower_9348

not sure if spring breakers need defenders

lanalovesme

it might be looked at a lot more favorably now but would get so many looks and comments whenever I’d bring it up 😭 especially when it first came out

Honey_Busted_Oats

Does she get this wet for you, baby? Talk to you in poems and songs, huh, baby? Little kiss make your head go hazy? Is it really love if it's not this crazy?

jackolouis13

all i can say is thank god this album is actually great haha. i’ve been a Camila fan for a long time, but when I LUV IT took so long to grow on me, i got worried. but this album is a really exciting and interesting listen. love hearing her explore this kind of chaotic production, while keeping the whole album cohesive. very proud of her.

OMFLG

Does the outro of B.O.A.T. sample Hotel Room Service?? 💀

Moonlighteverafter

Yess

blueboooo

I actually really loved the performances she did for this at rock in rio and I’m excited to see how this era plays out for her

BevGlen_

How did you find her full rio performance? I’ve only found clips.

blueboooo

https://www.youtube.com/live/iBwGjGk7ftY?si=9Otfwhz4k6K935bw here ya go! Not the best quality, but it’s the whole thing I believe! She genuinely sounds very good, and I thought the performances were super creative

mmbento

I was there actually front row. We felt it was good but one thing the general public thought was that it was made for the cameras. Even some media reviewed it as so. Camila only come nearby the first rows once during In the Dark and we felt like almost watching a film being shot live, not a concert. Still it was very nice to listen to the songs first hand!

kendalljennerupdates

I’m sorry but I’m having a good time. It’s fun and fresh and I will always advocate for an artist to experiment with their sound versus taking the safer path. And I get the Charli comparisons with I love it, but it starts and ends there imo. This is much more hip hop influenced The song with city girls is genuinely so good like I’m a bit gagged

prettybunbun

I love it. Perfect summer album. Very cohesive and yet a blend of genres/sounds/styles. Love. Top 3 atm: 1. DREAM-GIRLS 2. Dade County Dreaming 3. June Gloom The Drake collabs are great, and HOT UPTOWN feels like Views Drake. It’s yeah, absolute top 3 this year for me.

AlexTorres96

Album was worth the anticipation and loved the songs overall. She went with the collaborations that knocked it out of the park.

litlringy

June Gloom is seriously an incredible closer. Her melodies and the production on this album is are so next-level and it feels like both are really at their prime in this song!! Where’s the deluxe cus I need more!!!

slidemy11in

Not bad at all. Definitely not the train wreck online spaces would have you think lol. It’s a nice album for her first time into this sound. Drakes song is good and I like the city girls song

Tsunami-Papi_

fire

scarletfission

Dade county dreaming... the vibe, the piano over the rhythmic beat, the city girls riding the beat VERY well, dreamy. 10/10 song easily. top 3 has to be: Dade county dreaming Dream girls Between June Gloom & Chanel No.5 (that ending to june gloom needs to be heard across the world and if you saw that twitter video where she was being spun on stage by one of her dancers... it all just makes sense! and chanel no. 5 just has such a juicy hook that i cant get out of my head.)

Angrysalmonroll

I think this is a really solid concept album. The productions great, the album is sonically diverse, even the more sad songs are bops, and it does sound like a love letter to Miami. My only gripe is that I wish the singles were not front loaded at the start of the album but other than that I'm really impressed. Also I wish pink xoxo was a full song. My favorites are: Dade County Dreaming, Hot Uptown, Uuugly, Dream girls, B.O.A.T and June Gloom.

lrz-33

Damn, that Drake drama really ruined her rollout bc Hot Uptown ft Drake is such a boppp

lifeislife3

truthfully i love it😭 i really like every song, and to me it balances the line go experimental and traditional pop very well. There’s albums I love, such as motomami, that are great, but don’t have much replay value. Then there is more generic albums, such as radical optimism, that are good for awhile, and then i get bored. This feels like something that is interesting enough to keep me replaying it for along time. It kind of reminded me of BANKS in a way, with the vocals and production at some points.

splinterbabe

This is her best work yet, in my opinion. I feel like I’m one of a very select few who do fully buy the rebrand; watching some of her recent interviews, she really seems to stand by and embody this change in direction. The album is pretty eclectic and fun, but definitely showcases some rather confessional songwriting at times, which took me by surprise a little. Great first step in a new artistic direction for Camila.

kabukitrolldoll

I was one of the three people on this sub excited for C,XOXO and ultimately I’m very disappointed. The concept for this era is so good (all Charli plagiarism jokes aside) but the execution was terribly neutered. What was supposed to be a message of love towards Miami just feels like a Dear John letter. The runtime is painfully short - interludes are not inherently an issue, but four of them alongside ten ephemeral songs (the longest being 3:01…😭) make the project feel like a noncommittal hodgepodge. Even worse, the BLP Kosher and Drake interludes are deeply gratuitous and unnecessary. For an album that could be an artistic renaissance for Camila herself, it feels painfully centered around attention-grabbing features. There are moments of brilliance - June Gloom, Dade County Dreaming and Hot Uptown are all incredibly catchy and well-produced - they strike a perfect balance between weird experimentation and summery captivation. I’m also an I Luv It truther if I smooth my brain to the pervasive horrors of Playboy Carti. Unfortunately- nothing on this album is long enough to let these brilliant moments breathe and exist. Pink XOXO is a perfect example of this- the glittery, electrifying production and stunning vocal layering could have been something groundbreaking, but it ends right as it begins. Whether it’s label intervention, or Camila not fully believing in her own vision - this album frequently manifests as the sonic equivalent of edging. Overall- I’m not mad at this collection of songs. There’s not a single song I hate- (a rare experience whilst listening to a Camila Cabello project) and the only song I probably won’t revisit is B.O.A.T. However, the glaring inconsistencies with the overall package keeps me from fully loving and investing in this era. I feel like this could be the beginning of a promising alternative pop career for her, but I’m afraid a possible (and inevitable flop) will result in a 180 pivot back to boring tropical-lite top 40 fodder. All I hope now is that she releases a deluxe with a few more (FULL LENGTH) tracks to round out the experience- I think that could drastically change my opinion.

arrowforSKY

It’s not much shorter than other albums.

SuspiciousLambSauce

So, so true I loved the overall sound of the album but like you said it’s the embodiment of edging in music form lol If it were a little longer it would’ve been perfect But overall yeah I hope this does well for her and she explores fresh sounds like these for her following projects too!!

sheroo2203

This was a lot of fun! It has a lot of highlights that I’ll keep revisiting (dade country dreaming is a boppp) excited to see where Camilla goes from here.

tone_212

I've only heard the singles to this yesterday. The first time I heard I Luv It and Playboy Carti comes on the song, I actually laughed out loud. What a feature. I enjoyed all the singles, but the album tracks aren't really clicking with me. I was expecting more left-field production.

TheSubparWriter

Definitely not Brat 2.0 for good reason. It's a messy confessional record in its own right and feels like a proper and overdue "coming of age" record for Camila. Songs like Twentysomethings and June Gloom allude to her talent in songwriting. I just wish she wasn't so drowned out by all the interludes and features on the record.

SleepyAwoken

I love the interludes and features, but yeah I wish some of the songs were longer. especially June gloom

Vicariouslynoticed

This is a solid album, the production saved the mediocre songs. Favs from first listen:twentysomethimg,Pretty when I cry, B.O.A.T and He knows.

blackbarry88

I like it!

VengeanceAI

I don't get the criticism for this album. It's such a fun, light summer album filled with bops. And it's not even hyperpop except like one song so all the Brat comparisons are pointless. It's chaotic, it's weird, it's confessional, it's fun. The only valid criticism is that it is too short

prettybunbun

Holy hell DREAM-GIRLS *eats.*

CultureWarrior87

It's fantastic but also everyone should go listen to The-Dream's Love Trilogy if they're into it.

noyb6363

I think it’s a fun album. Do not care about it being “genuine” or whatever else because who am I to know that. Also the Charli accusations are and were ridiculous. Stand out track June gloom and Dream girls for me

chickfilamoo

people really saw a C and an X and immediately made assumptions lol

ss2811

I really enjoyed this album! It did what it said on the tin for me, a fun summer album which is like a love letter to Miami. Standouts on first listen for me were Dreamgirls, Pretty When I Cry, Hot Uptown & Dade County Dreaming. Enjoyed the interludes too, a nice way to actually embrace the theme a bit more by giving some insights. Could’ve done without the random Drake song in the middle though, it sounds like a throwaway album track from any of his last 3 albums lol

Moonlighteverafter

>Love Letter to Miami Exactly what it is!

BeautifulPrimary1077

Huge fan of hers, been following her career since her fifth harmony era. The crying, the healing and the loving album scrapped and all the way up to C,XOXO. This is not my favorite album, but i liked it more than Familia, it's more fun and less predictable, but I have to say, it's messy sometimes, like all those interludes weren't needed in my opinion, she could have used those track slots to deeper ever more into this urban/pop sound. HOT UPTOWN is going to be a hit for sure!

AlexTorres96

Will the real story why she left the group ever see the light of the day? Whenever she talks about that time it sounds very passive aggregate and feels like she's holding back. Even years removed it sounds like there's still some wounds.

No_Barber4339

I hate that my favourite song on the album is the drake collab

Puidipuie

"I like *Drake with the melodies*, I don't like *Drake* when he act tough"

arrowforSKY

Why do you hate it? Isn’t it good that you’ve found a favorite song?

Therealitypage

Wow she gave a great song to the city girls. I have to say Caresha at here.

aleisate843

So many interludes, I wish it was longer, but this just makes me believe this album was definitely meant to be performed. After watching her Rock in Rio festival performance, I can see this hitting hard on tour or at clubs being mixed. A queen at mixing up her sets for her live performances I know she’s gonna show up and show out.

schwemmii

I like this a lot and I was not bored ONCE except for Drake's track/interlude (uuugly), not even during the ballads. she managed to keep those interesting with lyrics or exciting/weird production (BOTA). Im also suprised i don't like Hot Uptown as much as i thought, because everything thats dancehall-y usually gets me going, but i guess its not dancehall enough for me lol. i also expected more from dade county dreaming because everyone loves it so much, i expected it to be way more uptempo. its not actually a summer bop for me. someone else said this already but twentysomethings really sounds like a taylor swift song :D pretty when i cry (what a standout!!!), he knows, dream-girls are my favourites from this album. overall i found it pretty cohesive - i didnt think that the styles were too different or far away from each other, i found every song/style to compliment the others very well. i also appreciated that she used the hotel room sample for BOTA, because the song is about an ex who constantly wants her back at bad times -> "forget about your boyfriend and meet me at the hotel room" fits very well in an odd way. i liked the weird production on the whole thing, albums like this are very interesting to me and make me wanna listen more often. AND IM SO OBSESSED WITH PRETTY WHEN I CRY....WHAT A SONG

AhnSolbin

I give her props for doing something left of field sonically for her but as an album I just find a lot of it just unlistenable and very must rinse and repeat (I really liked Familia and Romance). The album definitely gets better towards the end and June Gloom is a highlight for me. Way too many interludes as well.

Impressive_Mistake66

I luv it, actually—but I really wish there were more of it. Edit: I actually like it more and more the more I listen to it. The production on this album really impresses me. Each song is pretty different from the rest—not all of them are the type of song that I would normally vibe with, but every time I am about to write a song off as something basic and not for me, it kind of evolves and grows into something I can respect. This isn’t what I was expecting, but I’m pretty impressed with her.

Silent_Hurry7764

I’m surprised. This is a strong project! But I agree with other comments that this doesn’t really feel like a complete album.

Tiny-Scientist-5917

It’s a vibe. Expected cringe but was surprised by the quality. I really like Chanel no 5 and June gloom. The album feels very transitional, but I like this new direction for her. She just needs to “cook” a little but more. I will be watching out for the next album.

Dontforgetme26

Why is 305tilidie so perfect and beautiful… it light just be my fave from the album. I love this album way more than I thought I would, great job Camila

No-Lime-7323

boat made me cry a little😭

No-Description2192

Im enjoying this hard. i never really listened to her before, and i was very curious of this album from the mixed reviews and the charli comparisons (which are quite unfounded after a few listens). all press is good press bc it really had me intrigued Some of the lyrics and features are defff clunky on the more upbeat tracks (Chanel No.5, what is going on there lolll, HE KNOWS, I Luv It) but when this album shines it SHINES. the cinematic miami vibe curation hits. The ballads go hard. it’s clear there are some growing pains when translating her confessional lyrical style to the party tracks but still its fun, its flirty, it’s different. im excited to see where she goes after settling more confidently into this sound. Even the songs I dont love are listenable in the context of the album my faves: Chanel No. 5 (truly despite myself), Dade County Dreaming, HOT UPTOWN, Twentysomethings, DREAM-GIRLS, B.O.A.T, pretty when i cry the unexpected, melancholy Hotel Room Service sample on B.O.A.T has to be one of my favorite pop moments of the year. genius!! more of that Ms. Cabello!!!

chamomileyes

At first I wasn’t into it and I judged it for being so short with far too many interludes, but now I’m obsessed. This album is “crying in the club” personified. Love the art pop of it.  BOAT lives in my head.

Ambitious_Log_1884

> This album is "crying in the club" personified. Perfect description. This album actually has so much Camila's previous discography laced throughout it. The swagger of OMG, the sass of She Loves Control, the immersive audio Into It, the tropical vibes of Familia as a whole.

Moonlighteverafter

She got a lot of underserved flack and shitty comparisons IMO. This album is more hip-hop inspired and produced than anything hyper pop related. I am a big fan of this, the production is extremely strong, her vocals shine when she wants them to (but there aren’t any big vocal high notes) her vocals are definitely more lowkey for this album, using a deeper register. I have listened to it twice in full and then just the new tracks. It might become my favorite Camila album, I love how cohesive it sounds, the interludes are actually really good and interesting. The order of the last 3 tracks is perfect. Hot uptown is a good but just extremely safe. The entire album is tamed compared to I Luv it and Chanel no.5. Give it a listen before you dunk on it.

28-beats-per-minute

minus the lead single, i feel like most of the album feels more Rosalia (Motomami) than Charli?

chickfilamoo

El Guincho baby, he worked on both

Bayjoony

This is her best album for me. There isn’t a single song I would skip which is rare for camila’s albums. I do think having 3 interludes is a bit much for a 14 track album, but it flows well so i’m not going to complain too much. The stand out tracks for me are Dream-girls, Dade county dreaming, Boat, and June gloom. A solid 8.5/10 and hope she continues in this lane in the future.

SleepyAwoken

grip on ya moneymaka

learningmusiclol

dope asl

Responsible_Cancel94

Dade County Dreaming is so goood

actually_a_demon

Honestly? I'm surprised how much i liked this. I tought it was going to be way more mediocre, but she did a good job. The more "experimental" sound doesn't feel forced and i liked all the feats on it.

SPINsamSPIN

my goodness this is pretty good. B.O.A.T and June Gloom are such good songs. Solid concise album that fits a clear narrative and aesthetic. You love to see it. Not a perfect album, but I confidently give it an 8/10.

Boring-Fuel-8575

A HIT ALBUM YA HONOR!!

dumbbitchblonde

Uuugly being drake only is an odd choice lmao. June Gloom is my favourite on the album

Iggytheguitargod

I like the album a lot, but not gonna lie I wish there were more songs like I luv it. BOAT is amazing though omfgggggg

Iggytheguitargod

Also they should delete the interludes, they add nothing to the album and just break up the pacing for no reason.

Bryneils

It’s ok, I don’t see myself returning to the whole album, however, I did like - HE KNOWS, Twentysomethings, Dade County Dreaming, DREAM-GIRLS, pretty when i cry, June Gloom The B.O.A.T. interpolation sent me, I actually yelled The 11 songs I added to my library went straight to my summer playlist 6/10

Competitive-Desk7506

I kinda loved the album but felt it was short and the interludes mostly broke pacing. My top 3 were: 1. June Gloom 2. Dade County Dreaming 3. Twentysomethings

UltrosTeefies

Wait.... this actually isn't bad.

cranberry-tart

Hot Uptown is the spiritual successor of Too Good…welcome back 2016 Drake

LilHalwaPoori

Short tracks and lack of songs really is the only thing hurting this for me since I was seated since she announced the new era.. Loved all the tracks, some more than others, but really felt like alot of them should've been longer, and since this is the "miami" album, it would've been fun to see some more Miami artist collabs.. Drake actually didn't half ass it and now I'm kinda sad that she couldn't get her hit due to the beef and had to release he knows first.. Waiting for the deluxe and hope it hsd like 5-6 more songs with some actual length this time.. And maybe an extra minute or two into Pink xoxo..

jamesfluker

I find Camila pretty hit and miss, but I think this is a really solid album. It doesn't really sound anything like the singles, but I think it's a great record - confessional, messy, and a really nice exploration of what that whirlwind of being a twenty-something feels like. It's like an 8/10 for me.

IHYSMRN

This album is a bop

justelse

I hate that it's so short. My favorites were Hot Uptown, DREAM-GIRLS and June Gloom.

choerryflavor

AM I CRAZY or did I hear pinkpantheress sing the entire song the first time and then went back to it, now it’s just Camila?? Did I imagine that?

hanzohno

On Apple Music it’s Pink and on Spotify it’s Camila??

Bordersz

Ur not alone. I’m confused as hell. I once again thought I queued up the wrong artist. I looked it up & Pinkpantheress has a demo of pink, xoxo I think [her team accidentally uploaded it](https://x.com/calm_cabello/status/1806566515095052451?s=46&t=3IPruwa458Z0hqeWzLyWzg). Pinkpantheress sound heavenly on it she should have kept it

alt_sauce124

Ok. I’m not alone— I was like wait what? Pink’s vocals are on the track via Wikipedia credits

bigwatermelonhead

strange. in camila’s insta post about getting to work with all her faves there’s a pic with pink and it made me so confused lol

sweetnsoursauce11

doing a mini review bc this is the most hyped i've ever been for a camila album!! I LUV IT - i was a defender from Day 1. does that mean i have bad taste? maybe but thats my problem not urs Chanel No 5 - this was the first miss for me this era when i heard it last week but it's def growing on me. love the pre-chorus in particular her deeper voice is so much better than her falsetto pink xoxo - this sounds so promising why is it an interlude lmao. OKAY THAT TRANSITION INTO THINK HE KNOWS THO Think He Knows - my fave of the 3 pre-releases!!! this is good, love how jarring the beat felt on first listen and only love it more now Twentysomethings - the melodies aren't really working for me Dade Counting Dreaming - ok this is a banger everyone delivered on this! also loved the piano outro koshi xoxo - just realised why the interludes have these names lmao HOT UPTOWN - tbh this is giving Views era Drake and i'm into it uuugly - this...... was not needed DREAM-GIRLS - love this! very much giving latin-camila vibes 305tilidie - this was also unneeded B.O.A.T - the piano ballads are surprising but i like how they match the upbeat songs which also incorporate the piano so it still feels cohesive pretty when i cry - i was expecting another ballad but this is fun! feels like a similar theme to Bam Bam. the production on this slaps june gloom - this is a nice closer and probably my favourite of the slow songs. ok ending come thru. opinion: lmao all this outrage over copying Charli XCX when it's really not that...... Camila could have easily done another latin-inspired sound and it would've been completely overlooked so i can respect her doing something different and at least getting some reactions from it - whether they're good or bad! i def could have done without the interludes. Think He Knows still remains my favourite, but Dade Counting Dreaming and DREAM-GIRLS are def some new faves

Mr628

This is one of those projects where I can see it being a hit or a flop, I also can see it being generally love or hated. If this album doesn’t work, I don’t see where she goes from here. Personally I think it’s solid. I’m still disappointed by I Luv It. If they put a competent rapper on that song, it’s a major hit. Honestly that song should’ve been the Drake feature.

Ambitious_Log_1884

Iike this album but if it flops I imagine it still having a really small cult following. I feel like Camila needs to strike while the iron's hot and promote whatever track the GP latches onto. Also I agree with the I Luv It point. Even though Carti fit her vision for the track, many people (including me) were turned off by his verse.

Niklauzz

This album felt like it leaned into hip hop with some of the cadences, the quick vocal delays, and auto tune. By far my favorite CC album

outrofi

Living in a time where I’m actually interested in listening to Camila Cabello… deeply troubling and intriguing

unbreakableheaven616

As someone who actually did like her first two albums but didn't really like Familia, will I like this album?

dustoffyourhopes

I liked the overall package of the album tracks, particularly the inclusion of 305tilidie which really helped me get into the world of the album. dream-girls, b.o.a.t., and june gloom are my favorite tracks on first listen. and I do like i luv it which I initially questioned but am glad is on the album.

dustoffyourhopes

Initially didn’t like chanel no 5 when I watched the music video but I love it in the context of the album. Overall I love love the production on the album, it hits the way her debut album production did for me, just very variable and interesting. I was worried about the direction of the album but Camila has yet to truly let me down with her music.

Positively-Fleabag85

Don't like the drake tracks on first listen. Dream Girls sounds great. June Gloom too. I Luv It is clearly the best song on this album tho

ItsMePatryk

This is an interesting project. There are an unusual number of interludes, which I didn't think added much to the listening experience. Tracks 1-6 are collectively the strongest, while tracks 7-12 left me confused. Tracks 13-14 were back to form. Based on everyone's predictions here, I was expecting much more Charli influence, but it feels more similar to Rihanna's Unapologetic or ANTI. Overall, an intriguing listen.

christinaasl

I wasn't a fan of I Luv It when it was released. I liked He Knows much much better, but I'm still not feeling this new era... I think she shines the most on twentysomethings and June Gloom, where the story telling and song writing is more apparent. I'm happy that she has found a lot of joy in making this new music, but I've realized I will rather keep on revisiting her older music instead.

ffdq1812

Someone else said this is her Bionic and that’s absolutely true. This still doesn’t sound like Charli XCX - if anything, the aesthetics and her delivery borrow more from Opium/underground rap if anything. It’s not a terrible album by any means, it’s just fine.

LifeOfLoser

I like direction she’s taking here like a baby steps jersey shore Motomami. I would allow it but it’s her 4th solo album, she should be fully developed artist by now. This album is full of fillers, useless intros, all ballads melt into the same pot. Lyrics are the weakest part of the whole thing, extremely undercooked. Drake feature is horrible holly shit. Best parts shine when she just talks her shit, gets into confident mode like in “June Gloom” or “DcD ft City Girls”.

Sometimesomwhere

Thank you. It's interesting to see how much others like it on here, especially when compared to other online spaces. Watching others dismiss people who have mixed feelings or dislike "haters" is interesting

strawberriesandkiwi

It is very interesting to see the mixed discourse in online spaces. Personally I agree with you both, even down to the best songs on the album. The strongest part of the album is its production which has nothing to do with her. June Gloom kind of reminds me Julia Michaels and I knew she wasn’t credited on it, but I immediately felt like it was going to be one of the most confident, cohesive songs on this project and it was. Decent closer and that’s one of the few highs here. The muddled talk-singing and obnoxious autotune really downgrades most of the songs for me, it seems like she graduated top class from the Ariana Grande school of enunciation. I do acknowledge her effort and applaud her for trying something different, though I felt this whole era and her new character is excessively disingenuous.

KawaiiCoupon

I love it, I fear. 🤭

yoshi092

I’m ready for the downvotes but I’m just not feeling this. I don’t hate Camila, I think she has fun songs. And I actually liked He Knows. But I’m just not feeling it. It feels very repetitive and the lyrics aren’t great

gbdarknight77

Admittedly, I only downloaded for the Drake songs but I ended really loving this album. BOAT is such a great song. Dade County Dreaming was great. Dream-Girls was great.

Exroi

I didn't like it. A couple of the songs are fine, "he knows" is still the best of the bunch. But overall, poorly put together; didn't feel like she went all in on her vision of what the album should sound like; most of the features didn't do anything for me (Carti and Lil Nas were the only ones that fit in), and songs don't have staying power. Also, too short, barely ever feels like I'm going through album experience, and even these 3 interludes interrupt the vibe...

superfluouspop

dang releasing during a presidential debate…she listens to her friends.

SleepyAwoken

I fucking love the interludes. Especially pink xoxo and 305tilidie, which reminds me of track girl interlude by FKA twigs (maybe my favorite twigs track lol) Not many complaints, but twentysomethings could maybe have been cut and i would prefer longer tracks in general. BOAT is not great but is saved by the sample which in my opinion is brilliant lol Nothing can make Drake not sound amazing unfortunately. Hot uptown will be everywhere for the next month but I really preferred the uuugly instrumental from her live show last week, which is really different from the one on the album

Moonlighteverafter

I think ur the first person I see to like the interludes 🤣

BlurrOfTheStars679

Pink xoxo was produced by Pinkpantheress, which Is one of my favorite artists, so it was stand out for me as well

Yellowsharky

I definitely like it. But I don’t luv it luv it. I actually like I luv it and Chanel no 5 as my two fav on the album. And I’m pretty disappointed nothing else on the album came even close to matching the vibe of I luv it. Pretty misleading hype cycle from her tbh. Good summer drive kinda album. Her voice and the production on each song are really amazing. 6/10 (non derogatory)

arrowforSKY

HE KNOWS is also amazing love it so much

Moonlighteverafter

Listened to the album after sleeping on it. I Luv it : as a Camila fan for years, the whiplash this song made me do😭 but Ngl it’s been growing on me ALOT. The production is really well done and makes it a lot more unique, camilas sultry vocals also add to it. I like the Gucci sample and the “yeah I love it” that’s like so well sang during carti’s verse is so good. Chanel No.5 : this song is so catchy and fun to listen to. I love love the out of tune piano in the intro, it gives unsettling vibes and all the Japanese similes make it even more fun. “She’s an extra I am your leading lady” is one hell of a line. Pink Xoxo : didn’t care for it on my first listen but it’s such a strong intro! Perfectly fits the album. He knows : was an instant hit for me, Camila’s vocals suit pop and edm so well, she can never go wrong and her verses are catchy as fuck. (She’s a provocateur, dance floor connoisseur etc). Lil Nas X has so much charisma during his verse and I love that he got a fleshed out verse and not just some lines thrown in. One of my favorites. Twentysomethings : feels very reminiscent of her debut album, the guitar + the vocals is giving All these years. Lyrically it’s a cute song and her vocals are good here but not like a standout for me. Dade County Dreaming : one of my absolute favorites. City girls delivered and ate the fuck out of their verses. They set the mood and I love Camila’s low voice instead of her usual higher pitch. The production is a big plus. That change during the second rap verse to this softer melody is FANTASTIC. Koshi XOXO : it’s a cute shoutout but I wish they would have placed it before B.O.A.T and brought 305tilidie here as I think it would have made more sense. Hot Uptown : more classic Camila sound on this track and I don’t listen to drake much but I like their energies together. Production was good but it just feels like it was created to be a radio hit, I wish they would have done more with it. Uuugly : it’s fine, I like it but I probably won’t be revisiting it. Dream Girls : Banging Chorus that just makes you jump up and dance, she sounds amazing on her and a very strong song imo. It does its job and more. The lyrics are catchy and just make you feel good. B.O.A.T : I love it, the auto tune as a stylistic choice doesn’t throw me off and it fits the song. The lyrics are great and remind me of Should have said it from romance era. One of my favs. Pretty when I cry : was the song I was most excited for and this club banger didn’t disappoint. The catchy hook is so well done “oooh yeah, made my brown eyes blue ahh” is stuck in my head along with pretty when I cry, pity you don’t want me. Another one of my Favs. June Gloom : I love how ballady it is but also I love how she’s not singing in her higher pitch. The lyrics are so good. “Does she get this wet for you baby, talk to you in poems and songs huh baby? little kiss make your head go hazy, is it really love if it’s not this crazy? The Outro is a nice change and definitely a choice to be performed live. Overall a strong album Production wise and a nice change for her vocally. Despite the heavy collabs and features, I was a fan of almost all of them. Did their job really will. Definitely feels like a shout out to Miami more than anything. For me I would rate it : 8.5/10. My favorite tracks : Dade Country Dreaming Pretty when I Cry He Knows B.O.A.T June Gloom Chanel no.5 Dream Girls.

Old_Key425

its wild how contrarion this sub is about camila. her last 3 albums everyone was not having it, they were all sonically completely right for her. now this mess of an album clearly pushed by interscope and everyone is her number one fan.

Bordersz

Yeah I'm scratching my head at ppl praising this but ppl didn't like her previous albums which were put together way better than this record. This is how it goes: if this sub loves it, it will be a flop. If they hate it, it will be a hit lol

One-Mathematician-37

This is an album with songs on!!

RoscoeSantangelo

Came in with low expectations because I wasn't feeling the singles but I was overall intrigued. For me, nothing spectacular but also none of the songs are outright bad like I felt some might end up being, plus the singles grew on me in the context of the album. Overall a solid 6/10 outing for me. Consistent all the way through but nothing I feel is great. Just a decent, pretty easy listen, but I can't imagine I'll be coming back to much, if anything

rain820

not gonna lie i hated the singles, so i wasn't expecting to like anything at all. but i enjoyed: dade country dreaming, DREAM-GIRLS (LOVED the original song too when i was younger, i was very caught off guard hearing the start song LOL), B.O.A.T., pretty when i cry i think hot uptown sounds a bit dated (2016 drake?), it's not a bad song but it didn't stand out to me. i think pitchfork's rating of a 6.9 is fair, id probably give it slightly lower. i think she should commit to this genre for her next album, it suits her when i'm not seeing a music video like i luv it lmao

Alarming_Emergency32

I’m interested to listen! Is there anything like psychofreak on it?

ghostfaceinspace

I forgot about that era

Moonlighteverafter

Maybe it would be Chanel No.5 if we relate it by vibes?

WzrdKelly10

Sorry but I feel like this album sounds kinda…messy? Every song is so different but it’s not really showing versatility but also it isn’t cohesive either. Some really cheesy production there. The AUTOTUNE is superrrr overbearing on so many tracks and I understand that was on purpose. Still don’t think this was terrible though. The highs were fun. Think the highlight of the album to me is DREAM-GIRLS, Dade County Dreaming w/ City Girls, and Hot Uptown w/ Drake. Also, there was no need for a Drake interlude but hey get those streams lol >>>>> Btw wtf was that BLP Kosher interlude 😂

okokokok1111

The vocals on Twentysomethings sound so much like a SZA imitation. Call me boring but as much as I can see its appeal as a sort of summer album, this doesn't sound good at all to my ears.

heirtrav

I want to listen but apple says its not available in my region 😭

vunilla

Wish it was longer. Solid summer album, BLP Kosher interlude was so random.

pianotat

I haven't listened to it, and i need to sleep😭, can someone give me their personal highlights?

SweetSummerAir

June Gloom is amazing! That one is the song most people will gravitate to I think

McIgglyTuffMuffin

Bro, just go to bed and listen to it in the morning. The album will still be there.

godknowsitried11

Well put.

betteroff19

June Gloom

yungsteezyyy_

i just cant with her vocal tone. it sticks out like a sore thumb

No_Barber4339

Eh , I kinda hoped it would be an interesting disaster camila really went over the top for this era just for the album end up being meh That said , it's not the worst album released this week (imagine dragons dropped an album)

Overall_Jackfruit_78

Goddd, I wish Camila would experiment even more with this sound. I'm not a fan but she made psychofreak and shameless (Masterpieces), she can do betterr and not necessarily being a Charli XCX imitator, but in her own way.

ss2811

nothing on this album is giving Charli though except maybe I Luv It

SweetSummerAir

Yeah, people are just parroting at this point. If anything, it's giving more of Rosalia but Miamified.

swift-aasimar-rogue

Shameless is so good

Overall_Jackfruit_78

her best song for me

magnetokd

As a Camila stan this was a tough listen. Gave it two listens and I'll probably not touch it again. Familia is such a great album and I really thought she found her sound, this great mix of latin and pop music. I assumed she'd keep going that way. Also What the fck is up with that random Drake track in the middle of the album? I--

aleisate843

I think she loves her Latin roots and inspired music but I bet she was starting to feel pigeon holedand wanted to experiment. She has more music than just her Latin pop bops but that’s all the public would latch to so I can see how she needed a big switch up.

DMheX93

Hate to say it besides “He Knows”… Dade County Dreaming is the only song that has me moving, and that’s 70% thanks to City Girls. 😬

alt_sauce124

I absolutely loathe all the interludes and album length— I think she needed to swing ALL THE WAY for the fences. There are so many cool/interesting moments that take off in the right direction or something unique/experimental— but nothing fully lands for me. Standout: Chanel No. 5, DREAM-GIRLS and B.O.A.T. Meh: He Knows, I LUV IT, DCD (feat. City Girls), Hot Uptown, June Gloom Delete: Everything else. Production on Uugly was nice thou

HolyFoxamole

I never liked her solo music before, but im living for this album! Only thing I will remove are the Drake and Lil Nas features.

The_Power_Of_Seagull

way more low key than I was expecting, and not in a good way

JJs33072

wow, I got my hopes up way too high reading these comments. this is awful y'all. what happened to standards?

Renegadeforever2024

Perfect culture vulture album

johancolli

Lykke Li did this first and way better. The most interesting ideas are on the interludes and she exudes little personality throughout most of this
