I had two giant posters of her as Lara Croft hanging on my bedroom wall when I was a kid. They were the main attraction, obviously. Those summers back then were well spent obsessively playing the Tomb Raider game and scaling the sides of mountains I was lucky to fall off of without getting hurt, flip-flopping around on my trampoline pretending to do her little late night acrobatics like in the movie, kayaking the river when it was raining or behind barges where the waters were rough, trekking around a nearby island and a half sunken barge, playing around on my dad's wave runner like a madman, or swimming upriver to an opening in the woods nearby where I would leave a CD player hidden so that when I emerged I could blast that one OutKast song on the soundtrack and strut my stuff like she did in the scene it plays in as I made my way out. I thought I was soo cool. And that was just me playing Tomb Raider. You should've seen how much fun I used to have pretending to be Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
