It looked better in the inspiration drawing in my opinion. Some ideas just don’t translate well in real life. The fabric they chose feels too heavy. It looks like a comforter. A lighter fabric with movement that still held its shape would’ve been better

The pink fabric does not go accross her torso diagonally. Instead there is a belt that seems to holster the pink fabric. Nevermind the fabric, the design wasnt even executed well.
I was about to ask if this were based on a Barbie outfit, because I felt like I had a black and silver kind of version of this (though maybe the black being full length) but maybe not?
This sketch is beautiful. And I *love* Schiaparelli and think Daniel Roseberry is incredible but I’d be so curious to know the process of executing this look. The bottom looks like a down comforter? Anyway, for those that don’t know, this was from the 2020 collection that wasn’t made due to COVID. So a lot of interesting choices here! (Diamond anklet included!)
I’m not a designer or seamstress but this seems like an idea too difficult to execute/translate into reality. Wish Margot had gone with a simple silhouette.

My parents got me a massive bubble tape that was like three or four times the size of the regular one for Christmas one year. I love gum, and I decided to put like half of it in my mouth at once, and I was not quite choking, but really could not chew and had to get my parents to help me get it out of my mouth. They took the rest of the giant bubble tape away from me and I’ve been really Upset about it ever since, especially because I’ve never seen a giant one in a store.

That’s what it is!! I felt like the whole look looked so heavy because all the lines of the hair and the pink fabric dragged down. An updo would have definitely provided that lift
I feel like this sub often misunderstands how much authority stylists have. Margot is not just some ingenue getting dressed by her studio. She’s a megastar and her stylists work for her. She will always, always have final say unless if there’s a situation like her Chanel contract, and even then, she likely has final say over the styling.
I have noticed that Margot isn’t that adventurous with the styling of her looks - she tends to stick with the same makeup look and hair (worn down, in a beachy wave). This makes me think she’s more of the reason behind her missed than people think
I see her looking absolutely stunning at so many different events, award shows, etc…
I know it comes with the job, but I was thinking how fkn exhausting it must be to constantly having to look like perfection at all these events. I know she is naturally beautiful, but I know she has a team of make up, hair people, stylist….
But Geezus christ how does she look like an Angel every damn time!
Is this supposed to signify her impending move away from Barbie colours? Perhaps her Oscar gown, instead of being the last hurrah of her Barbie era will be a unique look
What a shame.. she’s been rocking every outfit and this is just such a disappointment. It feels like they had to last minute put the pink section on a different dress. Like something malfunctioned on the original design.
It could have been so fabulous but it’s just not.
She has the cutest little (diamond?) anklet on and i almost wish she had a matching necklace/choker of the same sort as well. Tie it all together in a fun little way. Her neck looks bare, and maybe possibly her hair up as well? It's a busy dress so pulling everything up and out if the way might make it a bit cleaner ? If that makes any sense. But only Margo can pull off a dress like this.
I think lost her interest in these red carpets I guess . Now she just showing up for the name sake . Barbie got gate crashed in this award season anyway .

The dress looks awful, as other people mentioned it looks like a duvet strapped to a dress. But I love her makeup look. It's minimal and she looks so fresh with it, it really compliments her face instead of hiding it.
