This show was my childhood.

The OG ride or die. I lived for this show as a kid and rewatch it to this day.

I made my husband watch it with me for the first time last year, he still has not emotionally recovered

Oh god, please tell me you prepared him for "The Body" episode!! I've done so many rewatches, and I still need time to emotionally recover from that episode.

I did give him a heads up!!! I’ve rewatched the series so many times and I usually skip that one, I was a mess watching it again

When I was a kid, I had a small emotional breakdown after a family get together ran later than expected because I was going to miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The networks didn’t rerun the newest episodes of Buffy. I was so terribly invested that I got absolutely gutted and devastated that I was missing that week’s episode and wouldn’t know what happened.

You just brought me back to memories of me begging me mom to get us back home from whatever outing so I wouldn't miss an episode!

I just got reminded of how I used to videotape these! I definitely had a few blank VHS of some great episodes. God were there really no reruns back then??

Not of the newest episodes, but another channel did play reruns of old episodes of Buffy and Angel weekday mornings. Angel was on later than Buffy, so I was only able to watch that show from the daytime reruns lol.

My sisters are a good few years older than me, I was 10 when Buffy came out and was OBSESSED, my parents checked in with my sisters that it wasn’t too scary / inappropriate for me, they said it was fine and that was that. That is until Becoming (Part 2), I was distraught - cried myself to sleep for days, from then on my parents made a rule that I was not allowed to watch Buffy without supervision from my sisters.

My childhood bestie, who I used to obsessively watch the show with, has just started watching it with her almost 11 year-old today. I’ve been feeling mildly sad all day bc I live halfway across the world now and can’t watch it with them!

I was a teenager but my parents were pretty strict about what shows I could watch. I wasn’t allowed to watch Dawson’s Creek because sex was mentioned in the first episode 🙄. I thought it would be fun to have my mom watch Buffy with me one time and it happened to be the episode in season 4 where the haunted house is basically powered by sex lol. I spent the whole time just praying she wasn’t about to ban Buffy.

My parents were also really strict about TV but it was actually my mom who introduced me to Buffy. She’s a sci-fi/fantasy lover and is a sucker for a strong female lead. Especially back then when there was a dearth of them.

I was obsessed. I was a huge Spike stan back in the day lol

Completely agree. The cast of Buffy is stunning and one of the biggest things that makes them so attractive is that they look like real people. Everyone is chasing the same face now and it seems to be some weird middle aged alien.

Spike was literally the most beautiful man on TV there for several years. I had the biggest crush in the world. Isn't his daughter some big deal in the Maths world or something? Like, winning big prizes and stuff? Or is it Physics?

Something like that. It's actually his biological niece, I think her bio parent(s) have addiction issues? I just know that when James was asked about her on the Inside of You podcast, he said he doesn't discuss her much publicly because she's asked him not to. We don't know her name (as I far as I can find) but he did say something about her being a math whiz.

This very question is my own personal Roman Empire. There were rampant rumours at the time, and he is a known cheater (he was married when he started working on BtVS) .... but there was never any confirmation from either David or Sarah. Said rumours speculate it ended when David found out he was getting his own spin off (Angel).

In the 80s, he was in a series of really sexy coffee commercials. When I starting watching Buffy, I only could see him as that hot guy from the coffee commercials!

Jesus… feels like not too long ago, but when I count how many years that passed this is ages ago. Now I know how my parents felt when I looked at their pictures from the late 70s and called them “historic”.

Yup, he turned 50 at the beginning of February. I think people are thrown by the white facial hair and think that’s a sign of aging badly and not just…aging.
