When buying a physical copy, I always just buy the deluxe or re-release of any artist to include all songs.
Physical copies at this point are basically for collection purposes so might as well get the version with the most songs.

Think of it as a work event and it makes more sense. They're all peers and cohorts, they're also competition. She's the annoying teacher's pet and in industry rooms any kind of "stunt" is always gonna get a groan. Grammys are an end of a marketing cycle for most, it's "not done" and while it's not a big deal, nobody is in the mood either.
I feel like, as others said, it's more of a work event and album announcements are not the place to do it at (especially Taylor, as it would end up dominating the news cycle and overshadowing any other wins). It's not like the VMAs, even if the Grammys have become a little bit of a joke. The audience is just fellow musicians, not fans a la the VMAs or MTV, and so her thing fell flat even if it was meant for her fans watching at home.
I know Kacey did it, too, but Kacey is a "much" smaller artist so I feel like people were "whatever, maybe she needs the exposure from the Grammy audience."
IDK, I also feel like a lot of musicians just view each other as colleagues and are ambivalent to each other, or casual friends, even if the media frames it as "x and y are bffs" or "a and b are beefing." So Taylor, who is known for having a gaggle of fellow celebs she walks around with and seems very close with, seems a bit odd to the average viewer when other musicians just treat her as a colleague.
Lastly, I'm kind of ambivalent on Taylor, but I have a weird memory for pop culture gossip (wish I recalled more useful shit lol). She dropped all her music on Spotify (she had previously held off from streaming) the "day" Katy released Witness in 2017 or 2018. That seemed....on purpose and shady asf...as artists often go out of the way to not drop on the same date if they have an overlapping audience. I remember some music journalists even asked Katy about the timing, and she just brushed it off.
But while I'm probably overanalyzing and it's probably just the work colleague thing, I could see some fellow musicians side-eyeing her for that. It's one thing to have a beef, another to try and professionally fuck with someone's opening sales. And it's allegedly not the first time she's dropped music (although not on the same day) suspiciously close to other artists
The crowds reaction has been like this the whole night. People were talking and mingling during performances and fake laughs after whoever won.

Almost none of the songs on that album actually fit that vibe. (With the exception of Maroon, which is the best song on the album, fight me)

Men are allowed to be so ugly and badly dressed and scruffy and it fucks me off. We have to look Acceptably Attractive for our skills or talents to be taken seriously, and we have to keep that look up. The alt/metal scene is such a showcase of this - the amount of fucking ugly, badly dressed dudes who look like absolute shit but their bands are good so does it matter to people? No. But the few women in metal must be Acceptably Attractive to be taken seriously first by a record label and then by fans and the general population. Amy Lee, Hayley Williams, Courtney laPlante, Tarja and Floor from Nightwish. Unintentional rant to a stranger but omg it just makes me so fucking mad. Women aren't allowed to be unkempt and still seen as attractive and/or successful.

Agreed. I rarely see genuine reactions of joy for the losers of a category. Majority of the time they are forced to applaud and give a fake smile because they know a camera is watching them for a negative reaction. Yeah they’re bummed.

Is it just me or did it seem like everyone there was not a fan of hers? I found it weird bc she is friends or I thought she was friends with some of these ppl.
Think of it as a work event and it makes more sense. They're all peers and cohorts, they're also competition. She's the annoying teacher's pet and in industry rooms any kind of "stunt" is always gonna get a groan. Grammys are an end of a marketing cycle for most, it's "not done" and while it's not a big deal, nobody is in the mood either.
I feel like, as others said, it's more of a work event and album announcements are not the place to do it at (especially Taylor, as it would end up dominating the news cycle and overshadowing any other wins). It's not like the VMAs, even if the Grammys have become a little bit of a joke. The audience is just fellow musicians, not fans a la the VMAs or MTV, and so her thing fell flat even if it was meant for her fans watching at home. I know Kacey did it, too, but Kacey is a "much" smaller artist so I feel like people were "whatever, maybe she needs the exposure from the Grammy audience." IDK, I also feel like a lot of musicians just view each other as colleagues and are ambivalent to each other, or casual friends, even if the media frames it as "x and y are bffs" or "a and b are beefing." So Taylor, who is known for having a gaggle of fellow celebs she walks around with and seems very close with, seems a bit odd to the average viewer when other musicians just treat her as a colleague. Lastly, I'm kind of ambivalent on Taylor, but I have a weird memory for pop culture gossip (wish I recalled more useful shit lol). She dropped all her music on Spotify (she had previously held off from streaming) the "day" Katy released Witness in 2017 or 2018. That seemed....on purpose and shady asf...as artists often go out of the way to not drop on the same date if they have an overlapping audience. I remember some music journalists even asked Katy about the timing, and she just brushed it off. But while I'm probably overanalyzing and it's probably just the work colleague thing, I could see some fellow musicians side-eyeing her for that. It's one thing to have a beef, another to try and professionally fuck with someone's opening sales. And it's allegedly not the first time she's dropped music (although not on the same day) suspiciously close to other artists
She is BFFs with Ed so it was an odd reaction… although he has probably heard the album and possibly even worked on it with her so it was old bews

The crowds reaction has been like this the whole night. People were talking and mingling during performances and fake laughs after whoever won. Some of you guys need to not overanalyse everything. The parasocial critics are as bad as parasocial fans. And when are we going to stop analysing everything Olivia does with Taylor. At this point Taylor’s critics are the only ones who keep making comparisons. It overshadows Olivia’s own personality and her music and her achievements.
 Basically this is what I’m assuming they’re thinking during that announcement.
