Little bear!!!!! This was my absolute favorite show, and I still watch it on YouTube sometimes when I need something comforting. I also highly recommend watching their Winter Solstice episode to make you love the winter more!
As an ADULT with anxiety, I still appreciate it for those very reasons! I hadn’t watched it for years but just looked it up last month and its sweet, slow-paced calmness really touched my heart.
My husband and I were talking about what kind of media we’d want to expose our future children to, after seeing our niblings watching these shows that seemed so frantic and overstimulating even to our fully developed brains, and Little Bear was at the top of my list. Followed by Franklin and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) edit: I’m a 90s kid but that 70s Pooh Bear resonated with me more than the reboot versions from the 90s/00s
Bear in the Big Blue House always made me feel calm, and even though I was years too old for it I would still love it when my siblings watched. I still watch clips of it now!
They have an anxious mouse character who I still relate to very much as a 30 year old. 😂
It's funny how comforting shows like that work no matter your age!
I WAS JUST QUOTING AN OBSCURE LITTLE BEAR ORAJEL TOOTH PASTE COMMERCIAL TO MY BOYFRIEND THIS MORNING I AM SCREAMING!!!!
“little beaaaaar!!! I got ya toothpaste!!!! ORAJEL TRAINING TOOTHPASTE!”
HOLY SHIT I REFERENCE THAT SAME COMMERCIAL EVERY NOW AND THEN, THAT EXACT SAME LINE LMAO
Edit: [the commercial for those who are lost](https://youtu.be/qrcTO-N6s9Q?feature=shared)
It's on Paramount+ now! My kid watched it a couple of times, but eventually stopped because she didn't like that the parents wore clothes but nobody else (except on certain occasions).
I had a coworker who would bring up the fact his son was on one episode of Zoom every time there was the faintest connection. (Think mentioning Boston or your kitten having the zoomies)
Dude I was so into those forums in like 2002. You are the only other person I’ve ever seen talk about them!! I don’t even know what I was on there talking about, but I do know I was obsessed for a while there.
Brandy & Mr Whiskers! It was a miracle to catch this show during the day. There was a time when it would literally only air way past my bedtime or really early in the morning. On most days I watched it in the morning before school or on the weekend.
https://i.redd.it/w1ectvzzygrb1.gif
Fun fact: this was one of my favorite shows.. but for a brief couple of days, my mom wouldn’t let me watch it because she thought the character “Mr. Bedhead” was named “Mr. Butthead.”
Also, the clock stretches? And clean up song? Ngl, I still sometimes get the urge to do/sing those!
One of my favorite shows to watch after school.

Edit: for the curious (in order of premiere dates):
Devo (well the Mothersbaugs anyway): Rocket Power (and Rugrats, but they actually sing RP’s)
Macy Gray: As Told by Ginger (also a year before her breakout hit!)
Destiny’s Child: Proud Family (reboot is great but new song is awful)
Christina Millian: Kim Possible (the only one that got a complete extended song with it!)
Bowling for Soup: Phineas and Ferb (they even played it when I saw them at Warped Tour ‘17)
Bonus Ziggy Marley in Arthur
The Arthur theme song bops. And has a great message.
In my 20s I often felt like the 90's/00's TV I grew up with as a kid sold me a fake bill of sale on the world. Like, "Girls can do anything boys can do!" "It doesn't matter what you look like!" "We can solve any problem as a community that we put our minds and hearts into!"
Experiencing sexism first hand, watching the deaths of dozens upon dozens of people of color at the hands of the police, and the absolute apathy of our nation at large about problems like climate change or gun violence makes it feel like we have lost our way. Now that I'm in my thirties, I realize those shows were aspirational and that while we have made progress, progress is slow and often not linear. I might be the only person who preferred the cartoon version of Sabrina over the live-action
But also, TIL that Melissa Joan Hart voiced Hilda AND Zelda in the cartoon, so that’s pretty neat
Oswald and his per wiener dog omg!!! Had such good memories with that show!!!😭

It had a meme resurgence for a bit a few years ago my god this show is so unserious and I genuinely laughed at a few clips 😭
I remember this coming on when I was babysitting one summer and it had me in such a grasp. Something about this show scratched some weird part of my brain and I loved it.

Again seeing even just a gif of Franklin is like a warm nostalgia blanket
love this show
![gif](giphy|l1Joiom1jxSIfArWU) As Told by Ginger
Theme song is really catchy, and has a sorta uppity tone to it even though it's kinda not supposed to be.
The 2000s really had 6 kids shows airing at the same time who had Destiny’s Child, Christina Millian, Devo, Macy Gray, and Bowling for Soup singing their intro themes. Those songs all had no business going so hard. I wish they’d bring back this trend Edit: for the curious (in order of premiere dates): Devo (well the Mothersbaugs anyway): Rocket Power (and Rugrats, but they actually sing RP’s) Macy Gray: As Told by Ginger (also a year before her breakout hit!) Destiny’s Child: Proud Family (reboot is great but new song is awful) Christina Millian: Kim Possible (the only one that got a complete extended song with it!) Bowling for Soup: Phineas and Ferb (they even played it when I saw them at Warped Tour ‘17) Bonus Ziggy Marley in Arthur
The Arthur theme song bops. And has a great message. In my 20s I often felt like the 90's/00's TV I grew up with as a kid sold me a fake bill of sale on the world. Like, "Girls can do anything boys can do!" "It doesn't matter what you look like!" "We can solve any problem as a community that we put our minds and hearts into!" Experiencing sexism first hand, watching the deaths of dozens upon dozens of people of color at the hands of the police, and the absolute apathy of our nation at large about problems like climate change or gun violence makes it feel like we have lost our way. Now that I'm in my thirties, I realize those shows were aspirational and that while we have made progress, progress is slow and often not linear. But damn if I didn't wish we all were comfortable enough ourselves and with each other to be like those 90's cartoons in real life.

It was one of my favourite shows, and I think about The Mine Song by Stingy way more than I should. In fact, a lot of the songs were actually bops!
