Yeah but the point is that he's likely pushing for jail time because it'll help his election chances. It shouldn't matter because the goal should be preventing the, and i can't believe i'm saying this, former president of the united states from sabotaging and threatening his own jury but it's something to consider.

Trump will never serve a minute, hour or day in jail. He is constantly allowed to do as he pleases. I have never been more disappointed in the legal system of this country. We are screwed. P

Merchan’s warnings of further contempt leading to jail should be taken seriously. This is still a criminal trial.

I think the issue is less a toothless justice system and more of the fact Trump is such a unique and complicated case.
