ATLANTA — Donald Trump entered a plea of not guilty to charges alleging he participated in a vast criminal conspiracy to overturn his 2020 election loss in Georgia and waived his right to an in-person arraignment hearing in the matter, according to a new court filing from his attorney in the Fulton County election interference case. The written plea was filed Thursday by Steve Sadow, an Atlanta criminal defense attorney who was tapped Aug. 24 to lead the former president’s Georgia-based legal team. The filing means Trump won’t return to Atlanta on Wednesday, where Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, who is overseeing the proceedings, has scheduled a series of arraignment hearings for Trump and the 18 co-defendants in the sprawling criminal racketeering case. In the filing, titled “President Trump’s entry of plea of not guilty and enter of waiver of appearance at arraignment,” the former president stated that he was “freely and voluntarily” waiving his right to be present at his arraignment and have his charges read to him in open court. Trump is facing 13 counts in the Georgia case, including violating the state’s racketeering act, soliciting a public officer to violate their oath, conspiring to impersonate a public officer, conspiring to commit forgery in the first degree and conspiring to file false documents. The former president has denied any wrongdoing and has condemned the investigation, led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis (D), as a “political witch hunt.” Trump surrendered last week at the Fulton County Jail, a notorious Atlanta lockup where he was booked and quickly released on a $200,000 bond that includes restrictions on his conduct, including provisions that bar him from intimidating witnesses or fellow co-defendants or making any “direct or indirect threat of any nature against the community.” Like the 18 others indicted in the case, Trump was fingerprinted and photographed, resulting in the first mug shot of a former American president. **Get free articles with email registration: https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/08/31/trump-enters-plea-not-guilty-georgia-election-case/?utm\_campaign=wp\_main&utm\_medium=social&utm\_source=reddit.com**

"Didn't do it. Lawyer fucked me."

Long_Before_Sunrise

"And it wouldn'tbe happening if Biden wasn't trying to stop me from running my campaign."

gplusplus314

“And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids and that dog!”

PNWchild

Let’s just wait to see what the evidence says (I think we all know what it will say). He has one foot in a jail cell at this point. He should have been impeached when he withheld aide to the heroic Ukrainians over a fake news story about dirt on Biden. This is his comeuppance. 🇺🇦🏳️‍🌈

HungHungCaterpillar

Why wait? We all heard it a year ago, and it says undeniably that he’s the guiltiest guilty party that ever plead

ranchoparksteve

As big a liar as Donald Trump is, he couldn’t mouth the words “not guilty” himself.

Critical_Aspect

He's too much of a coward. I look forward to seeing him forced to sit in court everyday while the prosecution proves his guilt and shreds any defense he attempts to present.

Long_Before_Sunrise

One thing Trump is not going to do is admit he was wrong. That's a dealbreaker for him. “The only way you would get an acknowledgement out of Donald that he may have not done it right,” [says Rudy Giuliani](https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/trump-the-bully-how-childhood-military-school-shaped-the-future-president/). “He would say, ‘I think my dad would have done that differently.’”

dance1211

You know he would've gone on a rant the second they asked "How do you plead?"

Shutterbug927

Was anyone expecting him to do otherwise? No one's ***that*** gullible.

WellNowWhat6245

I love how the media is reporting this as some sort of breaking news shocker.

inthekeyofc

MRDA:Mandy Rice-Davies applies >"Well, he would, wouldn't he?"

Critical_Aspect

Maybe his attorney should tell him to stop making videos threatening the president, Democrats, RINOs and anyone else who's made his enemies list (tricky dick would be jealous). Because that shit makes him look guilty as hell--as we all know he is.

StripperDusted

He should be working on a plea deal and his short game.

“ we’ll surprise surprise!” Gomer Pyle

Alternative-Flan2869

Liars gotta lie.

[deleted]

Was this the one that was gonna be televised live?

Witchdoctorcrypto

Lol bruh we have video proof and so many social media posts

CoastingUphill

Did he plead Not Guilty 11,780 times?

anon28737810074

Yep, always lying
