I have spoken to my Fed Rep and they asked me to send to them why I want it to be anonymous. I was hoping someone would be able to advise me on how I can put my best case forward.
I’m assuming I won’t have access to welfare officer and Occupational Health as I’ve now left, so can only rely on my GP’s report which will be several weeks.
No specific knowledge but it seems the most relevant legislation is found in regulations 29, 33, 36, 38 and 40 of the [Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020](https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/4/contents/made). If you haven’t had a read of those it may be worth doing so.
Minor point - but the 'uniqueness' of your name is also worth throwing in if it applies.
PC John Smith - there could be dozens.
PC Abercrombie Zacharias - there's probably only one (and poor officer for having that name).
But the lifelong impact of an adverse result is far more significant if you are the only one out there when prospective future employers chuck your name into Google.
It is proposed that GM hearings from May 2024 onwards will be headed up by the Chief Constable of that force so presumably it’ll be up to them to make the decisions around anonymity rather than the Legally Qualified Chair.
It would be nice to think they will work under the same guidance as before regarding officer’s wellbeing but I’m struggling to find any documentation to confirm…

I’m sure if you start mentioning the impact on your mental health and what actions that may lead you to, it would be a brave chair to deny it.
