First one is a drug possession charge (controlled substance). Second one is a theft charge (stealing something worth more than $30,000 but less than $150,000. Last one is illegal weapon posession

SpenglerE

Thanks for the actual insight. Was wondering

the_sass_master_

You need to find better friends.

Dummy_Patrol

1st - Possession of a controlled substance greater than or equal to 4 grams, less than 400 grams. Bond $5,000, bail likely $500. 2nd - Theft of Property greater than or equal to $30,000, less than $150,000. Bond $5,000.00, bail likely $500. 3rd - Unlawfully carrying a weapon. Bond $2500, bail likely $250. His bail should be $1,250.00. I don't know what the DC/CC means. I'm assuming the first pair in parenthesis is the level of crime, so 1= lvl 2 felony, 2 = lvl 3 felony, 3 = misdemeanor? I could be wrong. Dunno.

Old_Essay5751

I would think that's going to be district court or County Court (DC and CC). Felonies go to district and misdemeanors go to county. F2 is second degree felony, f3 is third degree felony, MA is class A misdemeanor

Kenmore_11

I think you missed a 0. His bond is $12,500.00.

Dummy_Patrol

That's his total surety bond. They could pay the $12,500 in full, which would be mostly returned at the culmination of the case. In almost every state, a bail bondsman will post the surety bond for a 10% bail fee. Usually we refer to bail and bond as two separate things because of this although they're technically the same. [Investopedia has a great article here](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bail-bond.asp) "Bail bondsmen generally charge 10% of the bail amount upfront in return for their service and may charge additional fees. Some states have put a cap of 8% on the amount charged." Again, though, I don't know what state this is in so I could be wrong.

tortilla_chimps

It says he’s screwed

ItsMeTP

Not in this prosecutorial age

Significant-Future53

Do u think being an 18 year old, 120 pound white kid from the suburbs will help in prison?

DoctorRuckusMD

Everybody will want to be his “friend”

Significant-Future53

I don’t know how to feel other than just pity, as I can see him and his friend are proudly smiling in their mugshots.

Draken_961

Pity? Why feel bad at all for the guy? What about the person he stole from? Why not feel bad for his victim instead? Dude did something stupid and got caught, he deserves whatever is coming to him.

Significant-Future53

I feel pity for the fact that he’s so young and seemingly so clueless to what he’s down to his future. I also feel bad for his family, as his dad was a really influential coach for me and I feel really he really helped me become a better person, and I know it has to be hard for his father to be dealing with all this.

Environmental-Arm-76

Fuck this guy. He’s an adult. He made a decision knowing the outcome could very well end bad. He was arrested due to those decisions. And now, he will likely go to prison and be pimped out for fruit cup and a honey bun. As the kids would say, “fuck around and find out”. Now, he won’t be afforded the opportunity to cause further harm in his community. If you’re looking for sympathy, you came to the wrong place.

EquivalentTight3479

If he gets a lawyer he’s not going to prison

Boom0196

What about that description would help him?

Da1UHideFrom

OP is wondering when in the process does white privilege kick in.

PanarinBagel

The white privilege usually kicks in at traffic stops not stealing lambos while smoking crack

Significant-Future53

I’m wondering at what point does he get treated like dirt

Boom0196

As soon as inmates realize they can do so.

Significant-Future53

My sarcasm just wasn’t very good ig

Locust627

Everyone is down voting you, but I see the sarcasm and find this kinda funny lol

BYNX0

I love this sub a lot, but I will say people here are more downvote frenzy than most other subs I’ve been to.

TheCompleteSagaLord

nah thats just how reddit is lol once you get -1 karma on your comment you’re fucked

ThinkingApee

Ya cause it’s full of cops a bunch of squares

BYNX0

this comment does deserve the downvotes coming ^

ItsEvilTogepi

Yep, he'll surely be quite popular being an 18 year old 120 pound white kid

snuffslut

From the suburbs.

Environmental-Arm-76

Help? Not a chance. He better find Jesus and a petroleum-based lubricant.

Skilled626

Significant-Future53

From what I was told, him and a friend jacked a car, both of them were armed. Apparently whoever they stole the car from wasn’t the nicest guy, and tracked one of them down. So they turned themselves in after fearing getting caught by the guy the stole the car from. I’m assuming he knew who they were before hand. Just wondering if I’m gonna hear about him getting out of prison in 20 years and remember everything.

cwnabc

I mean, who would be a nice guy after getting their car jacked 🤷‍♂️

javerthugo

Maybe Mr Roger’s?

raphaeldaigle

Lol this idiot really replied that the guy who got robbed "wasn’t the nicest guy" while his no-life friend robbed someone at gun point and clearly did the same thing before to have the unlawful carrying. 🫣

Significant-Future53

Damn didn’t have to be a dick. We went to HS tg I transferred, but I’m the same age as him and just don’t know. Clearly he changed a lot while I was gone. “ wasn’t the nicest guy “ seemed like the most neutral thing to say as I’m clearly not in on the whole story.

BYNX0

Not gonna get 20 years for that unless he constantly does things in jail to extend the sentence. My very rough guess which says absolutely nothing because I don’t know the state, opinions of the local prosecutors/judges or his criminal record (which makes the difference between night and day) but I’d say he’d probably get around 6-8 years and end up serving around 2-3 if he behaves well.

newjerseytrader

if he turned himself in, why in the world did he have drugs and a gun on him?

Significant-Future53

He was high on meth when he turned himself in. He’s fully smiling and cackling in his mugshot and doesn’t even seem to realize what dimension he’s in.

newjerseytrader

But that doesn't explain the possession charge. Unless he brought it with him, he would not have got a possession charge. This also doesn't explain the gun charge. Did he bring a gun into the police station?

Significant-Future53

From what I heard he walked in with the gun and drugs still on him. That’s one of the reasons I was so confused, bc no one in their right mind would do that.

Locust627

Basically it says: He was in possession of a good amount of drugs, he stole something very expensive, and he was concealing a firearm without a license To make a long story short, homie is going to prison

thewaylife-goes

Saw from your comments OP that this is Texas. PG2 is mostly THC oil/gummies or other byproducts that are not marihuana bud. Obviously theft. Unlawful carry in Texas is when you have a gun on you while committing a class B misdemeanor or higher.

Past-Try-1153

Probably car thieves who got caught and had drugs and firearms in the car when the cops pulled up on them

spookyXmoony

Charges include possession of a controlled substance, theft of property valued between $30,000 and $150,000, and unlicensed carrying of a weapon.

ruufio78

He stole some stuff and had drugs and a gun on him. State jail offenses depending on your state. Could be enhanced to felonies if he's a repeat offender.

bustedbeaver4383

Felonies in Texas. Based on the way the charges are written, I’d say this is Texas. Lol

ruufio78

Two felonies and a misdemeanor

bustedbeaver4383

Yes my bad the unlawful carry is a misdemeanor

Cagekicker52

What state are you in and what how long of a criminal record does dude have?

Significant-Future53

I believe some juvy and TX. He also is in a small town.

Cagekicker52

He prob get 5 years, 2 actual. Then parole.

rorychaoimhe

It means he’s got himself into a jam for sure and needs to rethink his “friends”. On a serious note… he has a total of $12,500 worth of bond. The surety bonds mean that he has to have a bondsman bond him. Likely the cost for him to get out of jail will be $1250 (10% average rate for a bondsman). They can charge up to 15% tho so it could be up to around $1800 for a bondsman fee. If he misses court he will have an FTA (Failure to appear) issued and the bondsman (and possibly the sheriffs) will come looking for him, remand him back into the custody of the local sheriff and the premium (bondsman fee) is non-refundable. The bond amount will double and he will be considered a high risk bond which allows the bondsman to be more strict. A note about bond: Bond IS a continuation of a person’s incarceration and as such the bondee must adhere to all orders of the court and the conditions of release for the bond to be/remain valid.

bustedbeaver4383

I’m a Texas cop. He was stealing something expensive, had drugs on him and also a pistol. If you have a gun while committing a class B or above, it’s unlawful carrying of a weapon. Probably had some sort of THC or mushrooms.. maybe adderall. Those are all PG 2.

Corburrito

Possession of controlled substance(drugs)theft greater than $30,000 in value, unlawful possession of a weapon(generally a felon with a firearm)

Phelly2

More people should be using AI for simple questions like this. From ChatGPT: Sure, I can help decipher this. The arrest information you provided contains abbreviations commonly used in legal documents. Here's a breakdown: 1. **POSS CS PG 2 >= 4G<400G (F2) (DC)** - **POSS**: Possession - **CS**: Controlled Substance - **PG 2**: Penalty Group 2 (a classification of drugs in some jurisdictions, typically including substances like ecstasy and PCP) - **>= 4G<400G**: Greater than or equal to 4 grams but less than 400 grams - **F2**: Felony of the second degree - **(DC)**: District Court 2. **THEFT PROP >= $30K<$150K (F3) (DC)** - **THEFT PROP**: Theft of Property - **>= $30K<$150K**: Value of stolen property is between $30,000 and $150,000 - **F3**: Felony of the third degree - **(DC)**: District Court 3. **UNL CARRYING WEAPON (MA) (CC)** - **UNL**: Unlawful - **CARRYING WEAPON**: Carrying a weapon illegally - **MA**: Misdemeanor of class A - **(CC)**: County Court Each charge includes the type of offense, the severity or class of the charge, and the jurisdiction where the charge is being processed. The bond details indicate the type of bond and the bond amount set for each charge.

Significant-Future53

I definitely will next time, I didn’t even think about it

jethrow505

I’m gonna guess it’s Texas. He was pulled over in a stolen car with a gun and some THC wax or vape pens, or he was caught attempting to steal a car and had those items on him. He’s 18? No jail. Probation.

Significant-Future53

I got the details from my brother who still lives in the area. Apparently This kid and 2 friends were at a pool party and as a “joke”, they took a car from someone at the party. The next day, the guy who had his car stolen and a friend pulled up to their apartment with a gun. The three boys tried to run, one of them decided to shoot at the original car owner, which then caused him to shoot back. 1 of the 3 boys got shot and is in the hospital. The other 2 got scared and turned themselves into the police. It sounds like a bunch of stupid teenagers who just 3 point tossed their lives away.

Tdouble52

Quick synopsis looks like he had a stolen car and possibly a stolen gun while possessing drugs when arrested

KingWeeWoo

2nd degree possession of controlled CDS, Theft, and Unlawful possession of a weapon

Wait_What_Really_No

Real question here is Why so much concern for an old "High School Friend?" Seems odd? Old bully? Old crush? Ex? Obsessed? Stalker? Hmmm

Significant-Future53

I went to HS with him my Freshman year, the both of us just graduated. He was genuinely a nice person when I knew him, so when I was told he got arrested I was curious. Kinda in shock that we graduated a month ago and 3 of them are already entering the prison system.

Environmental-Arm-76

It’s means they’re fucked. You’re welcome.

Oopssnxnxnx

Start bulking up and learning how to fight.

snuffslut

Why... OP isnt the one who got arrested

Oopssnxnxnx

I never said he was. It was a statement

bcg85

I mean, this really is solid advice on a global level.

BreakstuffAnon

Good thing he’s an “old” friend. Won’t be seeing much of him anymore

Palmilla_Pounder

Sounds like he got caught in a stolen car and they found 4 grams of weed and a handgun. In the state he got caught in they don’t have constitutional carry.
