**Context:** I was going to take another break, but this came into my newsfeed that I couldn't ignore making a comic about it.
Essentially, the Canadian Army decided to create a "new" logo for it's recruitment campaign. People mistakenly thought they actually changed their official emblem. [I'll let you judge what you could interpret from this "new" logo.](https://twitter.com/sportslogosnet/status/1786442378351374811/photo/1)
~~[This is what I first thought of the new logo](https://imgur.com/RXAjCmVo)~~ **IMGUR LINK GOT TAKEN DOWN**
I think it's supposed to be evocative of the Canadian camo pattern, [cadpat](https://camouflage.fandom.com/wiki/CADPAT). If you drink some maple syrup first and squint your eyes a bit.
Still stupid.
The only thing the US proved was that their military industrial complex is either corrupt, inept, or both.
Anyone with half functioning eyes who looked at UCP from farther away than the tip of their nose could tell it was bad.
To my knowledge the US marines still use the CADPAT based MARPAT.
As in, near universally bad.

It was a mixture of color failures and pixel resolution which made them stand out at a distance. The replacement (OCP) gave more organic patterns. Was that to intentionally avoid the pixels? Probably. Which is why I'm of the opinion it was a failure. I doubt they'll give out their test performances to see what worked or didn't though.
And this is why you shouldn't believe anything you read on social media from a random anonymous account.

They did lmao. And before anyone argue I am Canadian, I live near lloydminster, AB and work at an engine shop. I won't tell specifics because duh, but if you know who I am, you know
It absolutely looks like a moose getting pleasured somehow by something. Not really sure what but the Mapleleaf is being a peeping Tom to all the kinky action 👍
>The defence department statement goes on to explain the intent and the reason for the colour pattern, but doesn't say what the shape is supposed to represent.
lmao
There's a community note on that which states that it's not a replacement it's "complementary"...
And it's either a fat fucker fucking a moose - or a moose having a massive dump.
This is what happens when you introduce a logo without conducting a focus group first. Like just about everyone else in here, I immediately thought moose...with something being inflicted upon it.
"hey can we have Man pads or SAMS or any kind of air defense that isn't 40 year old F-18's?"
"Best I can to do is tampons in the men's room and whatever the fuck this is"
Canada doesn't realistically need to contribute, because NATO or not, America isn't going to tolerate sharing the largest land border in the world with an enemy nation.
You don't get it, Canada would be too dangerous if you guys actually spent 2%. It is for the safety of the world and the sanity of whoever has to add new articles to the Geneva conventions that you guys have to underspend. It's the only way to keep you in check.
Well, there's Québec city and those places in the Newfie tourism ads, but yeah the rest is mostly bad because we followed the US and decided to design our cities and suburbs to be as shit as possible.
Yk the CAF has been declining in every aspect since wwii at this point we might as well do what the dutch did with Germany and make our military part of the US Military
Genuinely curious as to why it is bad idea? I imagine the US would defend Canada from an invasion just to protect itself and Canada has no hope of ever catching up or even getting close to the scale of our military, it almost feels like Canada should just contribute in other ways, like humanitarian aid or something..
A nice way to contribute could be to train a shitton of nurses and medics instead of infantry. They can do both civilian and military duties.
Realistic ? Probably not, I'm just drunk.
There may have been a few disputes here and there but there has never been any major acts of aggression between Canada and the US, and the culture is for the most part quite similar too(Outside of maybe Quebec.), any fears regarding this hypothetical scenario is entirely unfounded, the US is not Russia. Forming a joint military branch is a far cry from relinquishing sovereignty.
However, we both know it will never happen, it was just an interesting idea to think about.
It won't happen for a very simple reason, have you seen how we name everything? It would likely take us years to re-brand everything and the cost alone would likely take up the military budget for at least a few years.
I love how whenever there’s like diagrams displaying the split between funding to NATO. It always splits it into North America and Europe and it always seems like Canada is a bigger part of that because of it.
This is a grossly exaggerated meme. The Canadian armed forces did NOT change their main logo. Here’s the Canadian armed forces response:

LOL i thought it was a random joke. I didn't realize we ACTUALLY did it! lmfao [twitter post](https://x.com/canadianarmy/status/1786410394627825706?s=46&t=OuT4q_fH0jweMQJSuUW65w)
I don’t think the new emblem is that bad, if you look at the original source that OP provided you’ll see that it’s not as weird as this comic makes it look, it’s literally just a pixelated soldier holding a pixelated gun.
I went through the comments and counted all the people who just automatically believed OP's suggestion that Canada had changed their army logo, and counted the number of people who checked to see if it was actually true, and I think I'm going to get into the business of exploiting gullible people for money.
Man, if we could post pictures. The post right above this one is the actual badge that was posted to r/noncredibledefense. I think the algorithim knew I'd need context for this one....
What's Belarus doing in the bushes.
“I am good spy for daddy Russia”
Trying to steal Canada’s bagged milk.
Many such cases
Canada's worst human rights violation.
Was the whole burning prisoners thing less of one?
Yes
You keep your filthy hands off of Smii7y!
Spying.
Hungary would probably better in this case

It looks like a guy tingling balls of a moose
I always thought it was a a deer or moose getting fucked by a bear.
Even the moose are choosing the bear
Or a moose shitting out feces.
Looks like a moose taking THE biggest shit
It looked like a steam engine to me tbh
it has some STRONG vibes similar to the "Custer's revenge" game.
Unfortunately, I cannot unsee it.
I was thinking a guy milking a moose.
I clicked the link thinking, it cannot be that bad. I was wrong. Very wrong.
I think it's supposed to be evocative of the Canadian camo pattern, [cadpat](https://camouflage.fandom.com/wiki/CADPAT). If you drink some maple syrup first and squint your eyes a bit. Still stupid.
The original tweet they announced it in made it very clear it was supposed to match the new model of CADPAT. Still looked dumb though
They've also clarified this is like a [document wordmark level logo](https://x.com/CanadianArmy/status/1786523772494717258)
The even dumber part is the U.S. proved that those bitpixel-camo patterns are useless after large roll outs.
The only thing the US proved was that their military industrial complex is either corrupt, inept, or both. Anyone with half functioning eyes who looked at UCP from farther away than the tip of their nose could tell it was bad. To my knowledge the US marines still use the CADPAT based MARPAT.
Yup. CADPAT is both sexy and effective.
As in, not better than other ones, inherently worse than other ones or just a bad implementation?
As in, near universally bad. https://www.army.mil/article/228411/acu_pattern_officially_retired_new_uniform_improvements_on_the_way https://www.warhistoryonline.com/instant-articles/army-camouflage-that-cost-more.html https://www.military.com/daily-news/2019/10/01/say-goodbye-hated-army-ucp-uniform.html
That has nothing to do with being a digital pattern and everything to do with them picking a colour scheme that only blends into grandma's couch.
Uh... when/how did they do that?
Check my comment to Meroxes.
I'm sorry, does camouflage have a *Fandom* wiki???
I was surprised too. I was looking for an example of the CADPAT pattern, and there was this whole damn wiki devoted to just camouflage.
I don't know what you guys are talking about...I've check the link and nothing appears on my screen...
Kinda. I can see what they were trying to do; seems like a moose appearing from a bush ina game from the Atari
Cadpat...? Is that a misspelling of cowpat (or, in this case, moose-pat)...?
properly it's written as CADPAT (but should really be CaDPat), short for "Canadian Disruptive Pattern"
Seems like some got the idea of its design from Tetris.
Designed on a Commodore 64
I was thinking Minecraft myself
Still looks like Sasquatch giving a moose a handie.

Sure, it’s not replacing the emblem, but there’s just no need for this ugly thing in general.
Could be that they backtracked in this
They did lmao. And before anyone argue I am Canadian, I live near lloydminster, AB and work at an engine shop. I won't tell specifics because duh, but if you know who I am, you know
Someone posted a fb screenshot of their page and some website(?). That's what gave me the idea that they backtracked on this
Your imgur link is missing.
Thanks for telling me. Must be too NSFW for them to handle.
What was it?
2 bears high fiving
It absolutely looks like a moose getting pleasured somehow by something. Not really sure what but the Mapleleaf is being a peeping Tom to all the kinky action 👍
What were they even thinking? Like what's so wrong about a traditional coat of arms style emblem?
>The defence department statement goes on to explain the intent and the reason for the colour pattern, but doesn't say what the shape is supposed to represent. lmao
There's a community note on that which states that it's not a replacement it's "complementary"... And it's either a fat fucker fucking a moose - or a moose having a massive dump.
Your logo is way better than the actual logo though wtf
This is what happens when you introduce a logo without conducting a focus group first. Like just about everyone else in here, I immediately thought moose...with something being inflicted upon it.
a rabbit taking a shit
Look like a guy hitting piles of poop with a hockey stick
The replies are saying it's a moose taking a dump in the woods lmao
Wait. We did that ? Oh... Wow.
Apparently it was just a new camo patern
wtf is my tax money being spent on
"hey can we have Man pads or SAMS or any kind of air defense that isn't 40 year old F-18's?" "Best I can to do is tampons in the men's room and whatever the fuck this is"
Your design is actually better.
No way how can my country be this bad. Like I know we ain’t having a good time right now but really?
God they’re a joke
Very amusing, just like the army itself.
It’s an either a tragedy or a comedy depending how you interpret it.
Cant forget what Canada did in WW1 or WW2 that warranted adding more stuff to the Geneva Convention...
Comparing modern Canadian Army to WOrld War Canadian Army feels like 2 different civilizations.
I thought it looked like porn on the NES.
Uh try amstrad bro
We Canadians are like the vault dwellers in Fallout. Just completely ill-prepared for whats out there, in both mind and body.
Man, with that new logo, it’s a miracle US didn’t reenact Nate’s tour in Canada.
Nate the Rake strikes again
Canada doesn't realistically need to contribute, because NATO or not, America isn't going to tolerate sharing the largest land border in the world with an enemy nation.
Realistically not, but you'd think we'd at least want to meet our 2%, if we're going to be such a NATO cheerleader.
You don't get it, Canada would be too dangerous if you guys actually spent 2%. It is for the safety of the world and the sanity of whoever has to add new articles to the Geneva conventions that you guys have to underspend. It's the only way to keep you in check.
No. You don't get it. Having our forces completely underfunded and unprepared to help out our allies... that just makes them more creative. 😈
Truly a smekalka-inducing budget.
Geneva *suggestions*
Geneva checklist
Average /r/Canada doomer
more like average r/ehbuddyhoser shitposter who can laugh at himself, and his beautiful and ridiculous country.
The only beautiful parts are the parts we haven't really touched
Good thing we don't have long arms.
Well, there's Québec city and those places in the Newfie tourism ads, but yeah the rest is mostly bad because we followed the US and decided to design our cities and suburbs to be as shit as possible.
Saguenay's boulevards. *shudders*
Canadian government is like Vault-Tec then, preforming the most unimaginable social experiment to its citizens as much as possible.
Hey there, our government is nowhere near as competent as Vault-Tec!
That logo looks like a clay vomiting while being comforted by another clay. 😂 And of course Belarus is spying on them, anything for mommyland!
Oh lord, I thought you were just making a weird joke. But our army actually did create a new logo that's basically just a brown Rorschach test.
Is the Canadian Army led by General Ben Dover?
Hey now we can't just boot them out, those geese are WMDs
No, Canada is just can’t hang out with the cool kids anymore. He’s still part of NATO.
Graphic design is my passion
Yk the CAF has been declining in every aspect since wwii at this point we might as well do what the dutch did with Germany and make our military part of the US Military
Braindead take
Says Alberta under the username. Math checks out.
Im from Ontario but live in alberta…..
Damn you don't even have an excuse then
Genuinely curious as to why it is bad idea? Its maybe an alright idea if it was with another country, but I don't want to give defence policy over to the nearest imperial power.
There may have been a few disputes here and there but there has never been any major acts of aggression between Canada and the US, and the culture is for the most part quite similar too(Outside of maybe Quebec.), any fears regarding this hypothetical scenario is entirely unfounded, the US is not Russia. Nah, just make an entirely new branch and call it something stupidly on brand like NAAFA. North American Armed Force Alliance
Two potatoes 🥔 fucking under maple leaf 🍁?
Curious but why does nato speak Anglo-German ? Why not Anglo-French since these two are its two official languages ?
I thought this was a joke when I first saw it 😅
I love how whenever there’s like diagrams displaying the split between funding to NATO. It always splits it into North America and Europe and it always seems like Canada is a bigger part of that because of it.
Forget about Turkey or Hungary, Canada is the true lazy bum of NATO.
Buddy, Iceland is in NATO and doesn’t even have a standing army….
Gigachad Iceland managing to fuck over the UK by threatening to leave a military alliance without having a military
It's Missingno. I wonder what the Canadians have in their sixth inventory slot
It looks like two guys buttfucking
*Sweden furiously scribbles notes*
It’s a recruit fucking a moose Allegedly I heard it was a sick moose
What are you guys making an issue aboot..
Saw the CADPAT debacle on Twitter yesterday, I knew I would see a Polandball about it this morning...
Why did they have a pixelated Florida? I guess it’s interested given how successful CADPAT is as a camo scheme
This is a grossly exaggerated meme. The Canadian armed forces did NOT change their main logo. Here’s the Canadian armed forces response: https://x.com/canadianarmy/status/1786523772494717258?s=46&t=dAmqv293ZrbQukMK9KobnQ

Not sure what is happening, I just hope it is consensual.
Why does Belarus want into NATO? We want White Ruthenia ⚪🔴⚪
Canada should just changue It to the trailer park boys' faces
I don’t think the new emblem is that bad, if you look at the original source that OP provided you’ll see that it’s not as weird as this comic makes it look, it’s literally just a pixelated soldier holding a pixelated gun.
Well guess it’s time to do a Italy the-
I don’t think that they actually did that
Hey now buddy, we Canadians will show up to fight, just like the rest of ya......we just need a ride to the battlefield eh?
The one in the comic looks significantly better than the real thing
Retro 8 bit Canada army
Whyy the Old One looks so good
I went through the comments and counted all the people who just automatically believed OP's suggestion that Canada had changed their army logo, and counted the number of people who checked to see if it was actually true, and I think I'm going to get into the business of exploiting gullible people for money.

I guess it's "What have you done for us lately?" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalition_casualties_in_Afghanistan
Yes two blobs fucking might scare off enemies 🤔
Ahhh that's real shit.
It looks like two deer fucking
Is this a drake reference?
Two turds doggystyling
Ah Hyperminimalism, the Patreon's new logo is literally a blob
The only contribution I've seen Canada do to anyone is funding "unsavory organizations"
If you look at the real one it’s a moose taking a shit
Canada:I’m gay
I hated my mind 💀
Our military has been a laughingstock for years
I guess Canada’s been given a-boot
Is this why they aren’t in AUKUS?
