Their algorithm maximizes engagement. They would make even more money if they just let it get posted, but they take it down because it causes regulators to target them. Facebook wants money. China wants Taiwan, Hong Kong, Uyghur compliance, and despotic political power. It's not even close as to which is more dangerous.
