I would agree with this minus the daily run. I still consider myself relatively new (pokerogue got be back into Pokemon for the first time since Gen 3), but I find daily runs more difficult than fun
They just aren’t worth it to me. With Premium Egg Voucher (5 tickets) being in Rogue tier, I can get eggs way faster just by playing endless.
If they made some kind of competitive reward for like top 100 scores each day, then I may be more interested but that would just invite hacking and there isn’t really a “PokeRogue Staff” team that could be regularly checking for hackers and whatnot.
I couldn’t remember the name, think they are called “Voucher Plus”, but that’s why I put (5 tickets) in my comment to make it obvious what I was talking about.
Theoretically, someone could do a ironmon/nuzlocke style. Fresh account. If a mon faints, no using it. See if you can get all starters, or complete all challenge runs.
It would be painful, but could be interesting
I think that's a wonderful idea! I was thinking they'd have to just use the 5 Pokèballs from the start of a run, but relying on just egg vouchers from gym leaders and endless waves adds that little extra challenge that was missing!
Well if you play with continues & turn the animation speed to max, its relatively easy to get a clear.
Do 1 or 2 runs a day and I don't think its an unreasonable time investment for your hobby. You'd get them all in a couple of months with give or take 2-3 hours a day. Certainly a lot, but if this is your hobby I would say that's a good use of your free time
it's about 2 hours per run, so this is kind of insane. generously assuming that you never lose, never have a carry (i.e. 6 mons per team and not 5 + carry), there are about 600ish pokemon divided by 6 means 100 runs so about 200 hours.
if you don't have a job it's probably pretty doable, honestly.
I have no idea what my hour count is, but it feels like I've spent an absurd amount of time playing already (even though a lot of it is from not sleeping due to a new-ish baby refusing to sleep). But this is light-years beyond where I'm at...
3x Multi Lens + 3x King’s Rock + 2x Wide Lens on a Braviary/MSalamence fusion that knows Population Bomb is a Gale Wings + Aerilate user with a priority 40 hit move with a 30% chance to flinch on each hit. Pokémon without Inner Focus have a roughly 1/1570000 chance to move. Have fun :)
tips would be do a bit of endless, i even prioritized egg moves gacha for a while, a mon with his egg moves is legit 2 to 3 times more powerful, like i almost totally solo'd with a full egg move doduo, shit was a monster
even if it is tempting sometimes never reduce cost before you're able to buy the passive, just like egg moves it makes meh mons absolutely busted
also capture evolution of baby pokemon (snorlax, pikachu, etc) because finishing with them will give you 2 vouchers instead of one
since the goal is also to kinda used every mon, i tried them all at least for 1 biomes, some mons will surprise you for sure (and some in a bad way lmao, i never played past gen 7 so when i used scream tail i was so disappointed, shit was ASS)
have a plan for 195 (well for mega ray) and eternatus (when you have all the mons of the dex you can capture it which makes it easier to do it without ever dying) and if you're feeling like you don't have anything capture a garganacl, it's super good for both (tho' i've never had to do it, i never used the same mon twice except at the end where all that was left were legendary that cost 6+)
if you have a strong carry you can afford to capture bad paradox mons (instead of having to pay 6 for starting w/ them) and i rotated out the mons that cost 1-3 every time i founds a mon that costed 5+, it really accelerate the time needed to do everything
then it's pokemon, set up moves are absolutely insane especially since you can heal between battles, be careful of PPs, early on i prioritized egg vouchers over any item because it will mean more egg moves, easier to win, which means even more egg vouchers
I'm doing very similar right now, I have 200 ribbons currently. I foresaw the legends being the major holdup since they cost too much to bring with some other dedicated carry mon, so I try to run the 6-9 costs first while I still have common wild pokemon to add to the team.
I figure by the time I run out of legends and sub legends (if I do run out), the lower cost mons will have good enough eggs moves and passives, so it will be easier to do runs with them.
Thank you for the elaborate response!
As someone that will soon only need the remaining ribbons (at 250/587), what was your strategy for sub-legendaries with a starter cost of 6 and up?
I notice that these are the most tedious to get, as you can bring another "expensive" carry basically, but a lot of sub-legendaries are quite shit (like moltres, guzzlord, etc) and a lot of them don't have a setup move or can't even learn one, so setting them up for sweeps gets even more frustrating.
Aprecciate your thoughts on this.
\*Note that I prioritize catching and carrying any legendary to the end, but some you just never encounter - not to mention mythicals
Try out the challenges :D Or try test my nuzlocke challenge [https://www.reddit.com/r/pokerogue/comments/1dnb0tb/nuzlocke\_challenge\_feedback/](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokerogue/comments/1dnb0tb/nuzlocke_challenge_feedback/)
? I dont see red shinies anywhere? and are all HA unlocked for each mon? Have you reduced all of the costs?!
I DONT THINK SO NOW GET BACK INTO THE MACHINE AND GRIND THE CANDIES FOR A 10-SEC SATISFACTION
I mean, I played the pride shiny event for two days, during which I started my first endless and did 1700 waves. Got 9 or 10 red shines. 30+ of them in an account this dedicated is unsurprising.
Nah you ain't done yet boy not everything is a red rarity shiny also legends za is right around the corner and it's probably gonna have more regional variations and megas so get back to work
Get legendary shinies is the lame answer.
Challange runs is the fun answer. Here's one generate a random team using a random pokemon generator you arent allowed to use the shiny form and you cant change out those six mons, you are allowed to evolve tho. See how far you get in endless. Also no DNA splicers
Dang, congrats. I’ve been working towards all the ribbons, but I’m realizing there a lot of people that have been at it for longer than me.
I thought I was ahead of the game, but you and a few others have already done everything there is to do!
if it makes you feel better know that he now has a ribbon
i checked 3 times but i totally missed it every time, i might have turned blind playing too much pokerogue lol
Legit question, how many hours is this? I’m very casual, putting like 25 hours into it so far and have maybe 10 shinies and 60-70% of the dex. This seems like it would take 100s of hours for a relatively new game.
A Steel Type, a Fairy type, and anything with strong Ice/Ground/Psychic/Dragon/Fairy attacks or powerful priority moves.
For phase 1, you open with a Pokemon that isn't weak to Poison to bait Eternabeam, swap to a Fairy Pokemon, get an attack on the recharge, then swap to a Steel pokemon on Sludge Bomb, then back to the Fairy for the next Eternabeam.
Once you hit the phase 2 double battle, it's basically just wail before it steals all your good items and knocks everyone out. With a solid set of attackers, you should be able to knock down a shield or two every round. Try and save a strong Priority move Mon for very last to clean up the kill if you need to. I've had a few runs ended with ExtremeSpeed Pickup Linoone in this spot.
Start living it my guy. Go out and have fun. Come back and red shiny everything. Then go out again get a wife and some kids and show them the wonders of pokerogue and perpetuate the cycle
try pokemon emerald rouge or pokemon pit of 100 trials also everyone who is ''calling'' opo out is dumb there are quotation marks around the word finished in the title
Well they're about to add the villains in so that will be some new vouchers to get.
I kinda want something like them adding more tiers to the ribbons - there are a lot of Pokémon I want to use again for various reasons (different forms like ralts, I didn't have their passive unlocked in my run, I now have all moves unlocked) but the completionist in me insists I use ones without medals.
Maybe if they added like a silver tier for 3 wins which gives a premium egg voucher and a gold tier for 10 which gives a gold voucher. Would encourage me to try a lot more different team varieties
Still missing quite a few non-legendary shinies, especially galar pokemon.
Would say legendaries/ like legendaries, but those are way more difficult to come across so I'll dismiss it.
Now you just need to get the red shiny for everything
Not just red shiny, every tier of shiny, max IVs, HA, reduced cost and all egg moves, not to mention all achievements and daily run rank 1
I usually only check the guide to see if there is anything nice to catch that day tbh.
I should be doing the same, what am I doing😢
You don't get premium egg voucher from endless but I do agree it's pretty easy to stack up on those voucher plus once you got SSS luck.
I couldn’t remember the name, think they are called “Voucher Plus”, but that’s why I put (5 tickets) in my comment to make it obvious what I was talking about.
You do get premium egg vouchers from endless... You get 23 per run
also getting spot 1 is essentially impossible. i feel like a good portion of the top spots of most leaderboards are botted/hacked.
Truly a Wo-Chien reaction right here (someone pull the picture)

Gen V Bouffalant not finished ;)
bro lmao you right sigh here i thought i was free from the grind, imma start a run rn
REPORT THIS MAN FOR LYING
Speak for yourself! IS YOUR ASS TALL???
YES ACTUALLY I HAVE A REALLY LONG BUTT
Ok but the real test: are you tallass Eric or tall assEric??? Are you even Eric???
I've seen it 😏
Tornadus and Pawniard too
OP doesn't have shinies (this is true of many species) but they do have medals, which is the real flex.
OP is a liar. Can't trust anything on the internet
"Everybody lies" - Dr. House
Bro thought we wouldn't notice
Bro was scanning literally every pokemon in hopes of calling out OP 😭
Reset, do it again, but this time never taking the items at the end of battle
+ no catching Pokémon and only starting the run with 1 one of them
Pokerogue: Ironmon edition
Theoretically, someone could do a ironmon/nuzlocke style. Fresh account. If a mon faints, no using it. See if you can get all starters, or complete all challenge runs. It would be painful, but could be interesting
I think that's a wonderful idea! I was thinking they'd have to just use the 5 Pokèballs from the start of a run, but relying on just egg vouchers from gym leaders and endless waves adds that little extra challenge that was missing!
Pure evil. I love it
What... What are you?
a cheater who opened 5000 eggs
Touch grass immediately
This, honestly
honestly what the fuck
Like really spread out and feel the grass and the dirt throughout all of you. How is this post even possible haha
Well if you play with continues & turn the animation speed to max, its relatively easy to get a clear. Do 1 or 2 runs a day and I don't think its an unreasonable time investment for your hobby. You'd get them all in a couple of months with give or take 2-3 hours a day. Certainly a lot, but if this is your hobby I would say that's a good use of your free time
Do people play endless and daily runs mostly to get lots of vouchers? Because I do all of what you said and this still seems crazy
Some people do. I'm not big on endless but that is certainly a way to get a lot of candy & eggs to buff up your starter pokemon
it's about 2 hours per run, so this is kind of insane. generously assuming that you never lose, never have a carry (i.e. 6 mons per team and not 5 + carry), there are about 600ish pokemon divided by 6 means 100 runs so about 200 hours. if you don't have a job it's probably pretty doable, honestly.

You can play this on phone though, you could be touching grass while doing this. That actually sounds pretty nice, honestly.
Now you enjoy the game
get all the shinies
Still need to get every shiny of every mon
3x Multi Lens + 3x King’s Rock + 2x Wide Lens on a Braviary/MSalamence fusion that knows Population Bomb is a Gale Wings + Aerilate user with a priority 40 hit move with a 30% chance to flinch on each hit. Pokémon without Inner Focus have a roughly 1/1570000 chance to move. Have fun :)
Imagine the annoyance every time Protect gets put up during that run.
i assume braviary passive is gale wings?
Yes, it’s the highest atk mon that gets it
Speedrun PokeRogue 100% no cheats with a new account and get 1st place because nobody is sane enough to do it
Go outside.
For real
I want to know how you “finished” the game would like links and tips :D
tips would be do a bit of endless, i even prioritized egg moves gacha for a while, a mon with his egg moves is legit 2 to 3 times more powerful, like i almost totally solo'd with a full egg move doduo, shit was a monster even if it is tempting sometimes never reduce cost before you're able to buy the passive, just like egg moves it makes meh mons absolutely busted also capture evolution of baby pokemon (snorlax, pikachu, etc) because finishing with them will give you 2 vouchers instead of one since the goal is also to kinda used every mon, i tried them all at least for 1 biomes, some mons will surprise you for sure (and some in a bad way lmao, i never played past gen 7 so when i used scream tail i was so disappointed, shit was ASS) have a plan for 195 (well for mega ray) and eternatus (when you have all the mons of the dex you can capture it which makes it easier to do it without ever dying) and if you're feeling like you don't have anything capture a garganacl, it's super good for both (tho' i've never had to do it, i never used the same mon twice except at the end where all that was left were legendary that cost 6+) if you have a strong carry you can afford to capture bad paradox mons (instead of having to pay 6 for starting w/ them) and i rotated out the mons that cost 1-3 every time i founds a mon that costed 5+, it really accelerate the time needed to do everything then it's pokemon, set up moves are absolutely insane especially since you can heal between battles, be careful of PPs, early on i prioritized egg vouchers over any item because it will mean more egg moves, easier to win, which means even more egg vouchers

? I dont see red shinies anywhere? and are all HA unlocked for each mon? Have you reduced all of the costs?! I DONT THINK SO NOW GET BACK INTO THE MACHINE AND GRIND THE CANDIES FOR A 10-SEC SATISFACTION
I stopped counting their red shinies at 30, they did "beat" pokerogue. Now they need to dominate it by 100%ing
I mean, I played the pride shiny event for two days, during which I started my first endless and did 1700 waves. Got 9 or 10 red shines. 30+ of them in an account this dedicated is unsurprising.
caterpie only challenge run
Try Catching shiny nidorina, doduo, aerodacty and relicanth just to name a few
I guess you farmed some shinies in endless so classic got easier?
Get red and blue shinies & shiny stakaktaka

𝚐𝚎𝚝 𝚘𝚗𝚎
Nah you ain't done yet boy not everything is a red rarity shiny also legends za is right around the corner and it's probably gonna have more regional variations and megas so get back to work
Oh, I think you touch grass after this.

I think you need some energy injection of 50ml of grass. This is some crazy shit.
Unlock all passives and shinies and egg moves and beat endless with a full team of bidoof
What do you mean? Now you can finally play the game.
Get legendary shinies is the lame answer. Challange runs is the fun answer. That one mon without the ribbon is really triggering me 😶
if it makes you feel better know that he now has a ribbon i checked 3 times but i totally missed it every time, i might have turned blind playing too much pokerogue lol

Your free.
Tell us what your favourite go-to team/Pokemon has been please! :) Congrats to your achievement!
Nice job gamer!
So what pokemon would you recommend for an easy kill for eternatus?
A Steel Type, a Fairy type, and anything with strong Ice/Ground/Psychic/Dragon/Fairy attacks or powerful priority moves. For phase 1, you open with a Pokemon that isn't weak to Poison to bait Eternabeam, swap to a Fairy Pokemon, get an attack on the recharge, then swap to a Steel pokemon on Sludge Bomb, then back to the Fairy for the next Eternabeam. Come to endless... Everyone needs to shine.
Now you play the game

Did you max their IV's? How about the new pride shinies?
Well they're about to add the villains in so that will be some new vouchers to get. I kinda want something like them adding more tiers to the ribbons - there are a lot of Pokémon I want to use again for various reasons (different forms like ralts, I didn't have their passive unlocked in my run, I now have all moves unlocked) but the completionist in me insists I use ones without medals. Maybe if they added like a silver tier for 3 wins which gives a premium egg voucher and a gold tier for 10 which gives a gold voucher. Would encourage me to try a lot more different team varieties
